FMLL AAA (SUN) 12/13 Plaza Liberacion, Guadalajara [Informador, Fuego en el Ring, SuperLuchas]
1) Killer Clown, Killer Clown, Monster Clown b Gato Eveready, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly
2) El Elegido, Fabi Apache, Mascarita Sagrada 2007, Pimpinela Escarlata b Cinthia Moreno, El Brazo, Mini Abismo Negro, Polvo de Esterllas
3) Billy Boy L Aerostar and Sexy Star and Estrellita [hair]
4) Alan Stone, Jack Evans, Marco Corleone b Chessman, Rocky Romero, Zorro
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver King b El Mesías & La Parka Jr.

Fabi did wrestle, in the Relevos AAA. No one has a picture, which can not be a coincidence.

By the way, people who talk to Estrellita now say she’s going to continue to wrestle.

Rocky replaced Teddy Hart for whatever reason. Clowns were announced as winning match 504.

CMLL (SUN) 12/13 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata b Bronco, Hooligan, Nitro
2) Fabián el Gitano, Metro, Rouge DQ Euforia, Nosferatu, Skándalo
3) Fuego & Stuka Jr. b Pólvora & Virus [Arena Coliseo TAG]

5) Místico b Mephisto [MEX LH]

A tecnico night.

Virus & Polvora/CMLL
Virus & Polvora/CMLL

Mephisto had his father Kahoz as cornerman, as he frequently does for singles matches. It did not help. (Sombra stuck around to be Mistico’s corner.)

Fuego & Stuka retained seemed much more likely after they were announced as teaming on Tuesday. Hope this isn’t just a week of doing something with them and no more.

Semimain came down to Strong Man vs Vangelis. Eufora got pinned by Metro in the first fall, and then ripped off Metro’s mask to make sure that wouldn’t happen again. I guess it worked. Somehow, those are the two matches going to 52MX. Must need to keep the Fox people happy this week or something.

Mascarita Divina fractured his tibia and femur in his Guerra de Titanes match, and will be out a very long time. Remember, CMLL’s Nino de Acero fractured just his femur in February and is still recovering.

AAA has photos from AAA checking out their movie.

Des de Ringside interviews Soldado de la Muerte

A blog notes the different danger of slipping past the rail for photos at a lucha libre show. (Particularlly one with Pimpi.)

Box Y Lucha 2952 has Guerra de Titanes results.

More lineups. CMLL no longer lists Tuesday’s show as a fan appreciation prices. You’re paying full price for the Metro main event.

IWRG (THU) 12/17 Arena Naucalpan
1) Chico Che & Eragon vs Arlequin Amarillo & Arlequin Rojo
2) Bushi & Freelance vs Avisman & Gringo Loco
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro [copa Pirata Moreno]
4) Trauma I vs Ultramán Jr., Xibalba, Exodia, Pendulo, Capitán Muerte, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Zatura, Fantasma de la Ópera, Tóxico [mask, cage]

Because it’s been too long since a mask or a hair was on the line here. This is the Adolfo Moreno tribute show (and also the last Thursday show of the year.)

CMLL (FRI) 12/18 Arena Mexico
1) Delta, Leono, Trueno vs Apocalipsis, Camorra, Escorpion
2) Molotov, Rouge, Sensei vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Inquisidor, Pólvora
3) Astral, Eléctrico, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Sagrado vs Misterioso II [lightning]
5) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Toscano vs Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero
6) La Sombra, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Very rare to have an atomicos, much less a minis one. They’re clearly setting up something for either Christmas or New Years, and Dorada/Pierrothito seems more likely.

Sombra/Volador vs Terrible/Texano makes so much sense, but this is quick for CMLL to be setting it up.

CMLL (SUN) 12/20 Arena Mexico
1) Delta & Molotov vs Durango Kid & Ramstein
2) Diamante, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Artillero, Disturbio, Súper Comando
3) Lluvia, Marcela, Star Fire vs Amapola, La Comandante, Yezca
4) Sagrado, Toscano, Valiente vs Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
5) La Sombra, Místico, Shocker vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Not sure if La Comandate is just La Nazi with a different name (they’re back to calling Rouge “Rush” for no apparent reason this week) or a yet another new female wrestler.

Cesar has his own previews of the CMLL cards.

IWRG (SUN) 12/20 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon & Mascara Magnifica vs Maldito Jr. & Samoth
2) Exodia & Freelance vs Fantasma de la Ópera & Hijo del Signo
3) Bushi, Pantera, Suicida vs Tóxico, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Angelico, Canek, Olímpico vs Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Pirata Morgan

Sundays are for Rayo and Canek. And maybe the Traumas are rudos again?

  1. “CMLL no longer lists Tuesday’s show as a fan appreciation prices. You’re paying full price for the Metro main event.” The Tuesday show actaully occurs on my 21st B-day. So in my mind it’s the Calabcd44 Appreciation Show .:)

  2. SuperLuchas report notes Fabi had her head covered during the match but at one point everyone could see she still had hair while she was doing a flipping spot. So that settles that.

No comment on my educated guess as to what happened?

  3. @Rob: I actually came to the same idea when writing that post about GdT, but it didn’t make the final cut for whatever reason.

But, yea, the only reasonable explanation is
    – AAA wanted to make it clear to it’s workers that everyone is REQUIRED to lose their hair when the office asks for it
    – Gran Apache and Fabi conspired to save her the full hair cut, and she’ll just be off TV until January to sell it.

  4. @thecubsfan: I’m trying to remember what happened when Mari lost her hair. I remember she got most of her head shaved but she was never bald, right? On the next taping (7 days later) she had short hair and from that point forward she wore a doo-rag with extensions IIRC.

  5. But yeah – good for Fabi if she got out of the stip herself b/c it’s horrible business by AAA to screw their wrestlers like this. I can only imagine the roid rage Konnan would have had if he was told the day of the ’91 Anniversary show that Perro was going over and he’d be losing his hair. I’m suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure like a good company man Konnan would have had no problem with that. Right? Right?

The entire premise of not telling people finishes is retarded to begin with and is obviously just a way AAA wants to copy WWE who (from what I know) make changes the day of the show or even as it’s going on. But you know what… WWE matches are for fake title belts at worst. Can you imagine what would happen if Chris Jericho showed up to face random steroidhead and was told “oh by the way Chris, Vince changed his mind and you are losing. OH – and it’s now a hair match so you are going to be bald.” Yep… that’ll fly.

At this point I’m pretty sure AAA is treating their own Mexican talent worse than WCW used to treat their Mexicans.

  6. @Rob: I think Mari was shaved bald or really close to it. I remember there was a razor, not just scissors, because Gran Apache grabbed it and started cutting his own hair off.

  7. @Rob: If AAA continues to copy WCW (which most likely they will) when someone do the Russo fake shoot, & say that ” AAA & Roldan is nothing but shit”? I think possibly Rey de Reyes.

  8. @Alfredo: Really? I’m guessing this is how it went down based on the Charly Manson deal where he said nobody told him he was losing until a week before and that’s when he decided to bolt. There’s no reason they (i.e. Roldan via Konnan’s advice) wouldn’t do the same with Fabi this time and unfortunately she is in no position to leave so she just made sure to protect herself by having daddy cut her hair to avoid any double cross. I think it adds up perfectly. If Fabi had known she was losing and was fine with it – why didn’t she get her head shaved like Mari did?

The result and post-match stinks of another Mexican wrestler being treated like shit by AAA which is becoming all too common.

  9. AAA is making a lot of mistakes, and this could snowball into a big one for them. Fabi keeping her locks thru the whole Apache Family saga was a big deal. While Polly getting the big win is good for her, long term she is better off losing the mask. Fabi losing her hair in this match does way more damage to the whole company than anything. Is that worth it, just to send a big “fuck you” to Charley Manson? Especially when in response the Apaches then gave a big “fuck you” back to AAA by dodging the haircut. Between Silver King, Ultimo Gladiator, Manson and now Fabi, AAA is killing the value of apuestas matches for their company.
In hindsight, I wonder if Ciber leaving AAA last year was due in part to a haircut he was not going to be given fair market value for…

  10. Hair matches mean nothing anymore so who cares? IWRG has one every week it seems.

By the way, I still think Sexy Star threatend to leave for CMLL and since she has to carry Rain and Jennifer Blake, Konnan had Fabi cut off her hair extensions and lose.

  11. @Tim: Dr. Cerebro losing his hair for the 6th time this month and Fabi Apache losing her hair for the first time in her career are two very different things.

The match screamed Sexy Star losing. Sexy losing made sense. People wanted to see Sexy lose. Sexy has more potential unmasked than masked.

Instead they swerved everyone and didn’t even honor the stip.

At this point why are we even calling them AAA? Let’s just go with WCW Mexico.

  12. To change to topic a little bit, Catchchannel uploaded the Aerostar/Babe Rap/Mascara Purpura vs Poder Norte match from Monterrey, everyone should watch that.

  13. @thecubsfan: I can’t even comment due to being shocked that Rob used the dreaded ‘double-cross’ term in his response. =)

I don’t really have a conspiracy theory that backs up why Fabi only got her hair partially cut. I just didn’t think much of it considering I’ve seen guys only get partial hair cuts and not get their heads totally shaved.

Now, if you want to get me riled up get the new ‘Histeria’ and new ‘Psicosis’ post up soon! That kind of upsets me.

  14. @Tim: Hair matches don’t mean anything in AAA. Even WWE did it’s second biggest PPV number ever with Vince’s hair on the line. They still mean something in CMLL. That’s just my opinion anyway.

  15. Another fun episode of Ras de Lona. Watching RdL, CMLL talent seems youthful and cool at that airfield, in Paris at night, and of course, Strongman pulling the bus, which everyone here wanted to see.

AAA? Screw the fans on stip matches, end shows at 1:15am, and bring back mid-card fakes.

  16. @Rob: I’m guessing it’s possible that AAA planned on taking Fabi’s hair or Sexy’s mask based on the turnout. When the show didn’t sellout, there was no money to pay the traditional bonus to the loser.

  17. Two guys who didn’t cash in and are going to pay for it: Psicosis & Histeria.
What reason could they possibly have for not dropping the masks in the last six months or so, when they knew AAA was trying to go after the gimmicks?

  18. @Alfredo: In Mexico, those are not luxury buses, they’re the industry standard. I think CMLL has a barter deal for the banners in exchange for buses for travel. That’s what I assume.

  19. @CM93: No. I believe they travel in cool sports cars and big limos. Except Strong Man. I think he arrives to shows driving the giant Strong Man tricked-out truck with giant wheels.

@thecubsfan: Well, not in those buses. Like I said, I think they arrive in sports cars, big limos and when they travel really far, they take Paco’s private jet to and from arenas.

I imagine that when Paco’s in a good mood, he comes up with wacky races to see who arrives first to the arena and so we get Cannonball Run type of adventures to shows, which also explains why Shocker and Toscano no-show so often. Obviously, their cars are the ones that either got a flat tire or exploded during the race.

@LLL: Maybe, but I’ll stick to my thinking they have Cannonball Run adventures to and from shows.

  20. @K.D.B_31: This is new with the Cancerberos. He just wears it to the ring, then wears the half mask get up he’s had since moving back to the rudos.
