The big news is the debut of the latest Histeria and Psicosis (as well as the new Amnesia, who is a new addition to the Vipers, according to AAA’s Twitter.) I pretend to know a lot of stuff I really don’t know, but pretending I know Mexican copyright law is too much of a stretch. However, I can guess that it probably helps AAA out to have people using these names from time to time (and Alebrije, soon enough), to make it clear they still own the rights to them.

Not that this means they’re around long term. Last year, AAA debuted a new Espectro de Ultratumba at this taping, and he was never seen again. Since then, Mantra has also seemed to do a single appearance and never has made it back to TV. Maybe they have ideas for the Vipers and just didn’t want to use them with the last batch under these names, but let’s wait and see.

At least Black Abyss gets on TV. The other guys could be anyone, from the guys who seem to hang around the edge of AAA’s roster (anyone who was, is or could be a Barrio Boy) to people brought in from DTU, to anyone else who’s just might be starting up with AAA and would be thrilled to be the new Histeria, no matter how it ended for the last one. I would’ve blindly guessed Poder del Norte, but clearly I would’ve been wrong.

I ask AAA for one favor: have a video bit where the new Psicosis meets Nicho. It writes itself.

Not all gimmicks to debut on this annual taping have been one and done. The Psycho Circus debuted on this show two years ago, and have had success and appearances (though a lot of one and few of the other.) They’ve been mostly kept away from the Legion, but this will be at least their second matchup – they beat Jack, Teddy and Kenzo, working as tecnicos for the match. Presumably, this will work similar.

Latin/Mesias probably will do pretty well on Rey de Reyes. It may actually be a better thing if Latin isn’t around all the time until then, because like 12-14 straight weeks of that feud will drive everyone mad. Just don’t know what Mesias does in the meantime. Maybe this main event will lead to something.

  1. Well I’m going out on a limb and say one of the new vipers is Decniss. Is Chris Stone still around he might be one too. Of course it could be Cuervo and Espiritu.

  2. Well here’s a guess…

Jessy, TJ Xtreme and Violento Jack. I still think Nicho would want the new Psicosis to be a TJ dude. V-Jack was second place in that AAA novatos tournament and Jessy is around so often he might as well get a gimmick that matters. Of course we’ll know more when we see them wrestle.
