Perros with Dr. Wagner (III?), lineups

PERROS (SUN) 12/06 Arena Neza [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Vampiro Metálico b Skayde Jr.
2) Skyade b Turbo
3) Celestial & Cósmico b Mini Talisman & Mr. Aguilita
4) Black Thunder, Scorpio Jr., Veneno b Leo, Riverio, Súper Nova
5) Histeria, Scorpio Jr., X-Fly b Charly Manson, Hijo del Lizmark, Oriental
6) Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween b Blue Demon Jr., Groon XXX, LA Park

Groon turned on Blue Demon Jr. in the main event. Groon’s a heavyweight! Groon XXX vs Blue Demon Jr. sounds like a NWA World Heavyweight Championship match to me. I think the Perros won, but I’m not sure. After the match, Perro Jr. was jumped by Dr. Wagner III, said to be the son of Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rossy Moreno. I hope he’s been wrestling under another name for a while, because starting someone under the name Dr. Wagner III sounds almost as bad an idea as that title match I just suggested.

X-Fly got away with a foul on Charly Manson for the win.

LLF (FRI) 12/04 Arena Femenil Monterrey [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Hija de Karonte b Poly Star [coffin]
2) La Chcala b La Bruja, Dama de Hierro, Naomi, Guerra Otomi [Trofeo LLF 2009]
3) Dark Fantasy b La Bandida [hardcore]
4) Angelica NC La Emperadora [LLF Juvenil]
5) Novia de Jason L Princesa Sujei and Dark Unicorn [mask]

Sujei escaped the main event first, and there was all sorts of referee screwiness with the final pinfall, trying to help Novia de Jason. Somehow, Dark Unicorn still won when she reversed a pinfall, and the referee wasn’t looking at the pin while he counted. Referee didn’t want to raise Dark Unicorn’s harm, and Novia de Jason walked off rather than take off her mask. The commissioner made her return and unmask – Mayela Castor, the ex-La Hija del Zarzy – and she immediately took off after.

indy (SAT) 12/05 Neza [DJ Spectro, Estrellas del Ring]
1) Evil & Silver Metal b Kung Fu Panda & Milenio
2) Fly Metal, Fulgor II, Rayo de Plata b Black Psycho, Ninja Olimpus, Nino Azteca
3) Dark Steep, Fulgor, Serpiente Azteca b Dragon Blooser, Fly Warrior, Guerrero Latino
4) Alardio Nocturno & Kumo b Impossible I & Impossible II
5) Andy Barrow Jr., Cirujano, Surf b Cupido Qunito, Indio, Ojo de Aguila
6) Capuline Negro b Gran Petroneo Jr.
7) Hell Boy, Oros, Sexy Rubi vs Colombiano, Gran Emir, Rencor Colombiano
8) Rocket I & Rocket II b Mr. Stop I & Mr. Stop II [mask]

A show put on by/for the lucha forums. Mr. Stop I is Ulises Estrada and Mr. Stop II is Edgar Sanchez from Mexico City.

At the end of their recap of Friday’s show, R de Rudo estimates the attendance as 40 to 50% of capacity.

Cronicas y Leyendas looks back at Dorrel Dixon, the first ever lucha show in a dance club.

DTU says their latest show will air Monday at 11:30 pm on TVC Deportes.

Cesar previews this week’s CMLL cards, declaring that Porky/Mascara/Maximo vs Negro/V5/Okumura match could only be considered as a main event if the show was a village fair where they were giving away free tickets. That Friday show is going to do so bad – the only drawing going on there is the stuff Tony is doing on his easel. Also, apparently also Sunday shows this month will be fan appreciation shows. I hope that doesn’t mean they’ll all be in Arena Mexico.

SuperLuchas #343 has two bad days for Japan

IWRG (THU) 12/10 Arena Naucalpan
1) Dinamita Kid vs Keshin Black
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II vs Avisman & Gringo Loco
3) Freelance, Ultramán Jr., Zatura vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
4) Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. vs Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II
5) Angelico, Bushi, Pantera vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro

Piratas are back. Pantera is scheduled. Neither of the two matches with trios champions is listed as a title match.

FMLL CMLL (FRI) 12/11 Plaza Liberacion, Guadalajara
1) Ángel de Oro & Ángel de Plata vs Hooligan & Loco Max
2) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela vs La Nazi, Magnifica, Princesa Sujei
3) Máscara Dorada, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Dr. X, Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca
4) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Último Guerrero vs Atlantis, Satánico, Shocker [Relevos Increíbles]
5) Místico vs Sagrado, Blue Panther, Terrible, Felino, Texano Jr., Hijo del Fantasma, Mr. Niebla [cage, FMLL CHAMP]

The Guadalajara lucha libre festival cards. They’ve been announced for a month, so they’re likely going to be not right on. Semimain is a much discussed Laguna vs Guadalajara match. Given how that’s likely to go, maybe they ought to have gotten someone a bit younger on the GDL side to share some of (possible!) glory, but OK. Main event is a cage match for a title, and I still don’t know how that’s supposed to work.

FMLL (SAT) 12/12 Plaza Liberacion, Guadalajara
1) Demonio II & Super Halcon Jr. vs Láser Boy & Sadico
2) Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. vs Hijo de Solar, Trauma I, Trauma II
3) Black Terry, Pirata Morgan, Rambo vs Huracan Ramirez, Super Astro, Villano III
4) Bobby Lee Jr. & Súper Nova vs Enfermero Jr. & Fantasma de la Ópera and Axel & Super Muñeco and Coco Verde & Cocolores [relevos suicida]
5) El Hijo del Solitario, Juventud Guerrera, Super Crazy vs Head Hunter I, Mr. Águila, Oriental

This is the indy showcase. Semimain is supposed to have the losing team face off in a mask match, but Enfermero Jr. just lost his mask Friday night in Arena Neza (turns out he’s Maniacop), so it’d be tough to lose it here. Tough, but not impossible. Could be a different Enfermero Jr., since it’s apparently a different Cocolores.

FMLL AAA (SUN) 12/13 Plaza Liberacion, Guadalajara
1) Gato Eveready, Laredo Kid, Súper Fly vs Killer Clown, Psycho Clown , Zombie Clown
2) El Elegido, Estrellita, Mascarita Sagrada 2007, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Cinthia Moreno, El Brazo, Mini Abismo Negro, Polvo de Esterllas
3) Chessman, Teddy Hart, Zorro vs Alan Stone, Jack Evans, Marco Corleone
4) Sexy Star vs Billy Boy, Fabi Apache, Aerostar [mask, hair]
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & La Parka Jr. vs El Mesías & Silver King

Lineups possible being out of date → the women in the segunda. Also, theoretically, Fabi Apache could be bald going into that semimain, which would be make it tough to live up to the stips. That match is actually listed as a tag, but it’s also listed as one mask or one hair going down, so it’ll be some sort of elimination.

CMLL (SUN) 12/13 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Delta & Sensei vs Calígula & Méssala
2) Dark Angel, Estrella Mágica, Lady Apache vs Hiroka, La Nazi, Princesa Sujei
3) Fantasy, Mascarita Dorada, Saturno vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
4) Máscara Dorada, Sagrado, Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Atlantis, Averno, Héctor Garza vs Blue Panther, Ray Mendoza Jr., Toscano [ri]

CMLL still runs it’s usual show, in opposition of the festival. Probably helps that it’s the AAA show.

IWRG (SUN) 12/13 Arena Naucalpan
1) Cometa De Fuego vs Dinamita Kid
2) Diva Salvaje & Miss Gaviota vs Maldito Jr. & Samoth
3) Exodia, Freelance, Zatura vs Fantasma de la Ópera, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Bushi, Pantera, Suicida vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
5) Canek, Pirata Morgan, Veneno vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Hijo del Lizmark, Scorpio Jr.

I think that’s a typo in the main event (it’s actually “Hijo de Pirata Morgan Jr.”, which can’t be right.) Canek, actual heavyweight champion of this promotion, is making his first appearance here since 2007. January 2007. Most of that is (multiple) knee surgery, but still – it’s not as though Canek was in a promotion that stopped doing business with IWRG.

7 thoughts to “Perros with Dr. Wagner (III?), lineups”

  1. I remember when “Dr. Wagner 3” was little. He wanted nothing to do with wrestling. So much so I actually got him to sell me the gimmick for some candy. TRUE STORY

  2. Maybe Dr. Wagner III is actually Dr. Warner and he’s the actual WWA World Junior Light Heavyweight champion?

  3. @Jake: Go find Barnett and make some phone calls!

ByL forum seems to indicate the new Wagner is only 17 and hasn’t been wrestling previously. Are the Perros really that desperate to draw attention to themselves? Forget that question, I think we know the answer already. But if having the names on the show they did and not being able to sellout that tiny building… isn’t it time that some top guys started swallowing their pride and going to whichever of AAA or CMLL will take them first?

    BTW, where’s Aguila?

  4. When Dr Wagner Jr. first started wrestling he didn’t use a name before he took the mask. From day one he was Doc Jr. and he sucked big time. I mean he was bad. Then he went to ok…and thengood…soon after he was great…. then finally everyone realized he was great and he took advantage of that by getting lazy.

  5. @Rob: I am curious as to why Aguila wasn’t on the show, but I think he was advertised on some shows just before this.

Sunday’s show looks good and probably means I’ll go there instead of Naucalpan. I still wish that was being held at Coliseo instead.

  6. @Jake: That’s what I’ve already heard about Wagner starting out too, but he sure seems like the exception. And I’d guess Toreo was a better place to get better than occasionally Perros shows (unless he’s working with Skayde, and I’d guess no on that.)

But I’m making assumptions – there may be bigger plans on here. It just looks rough at first glance.

  7. So Wagner III is the same kid Doc bestowed the original white mask upon on an episode of Guerreros del Ring a while back? I remember the young fella was very moved to be continuing the tradition. He was also very small…as in, he appeared to have rarely, if ever seen the inside of a weight room. I’d be halfway interested to see what he’s got.
