France, Guadalajara, Los Renegados?

CMLL EFM (SAT) 11/14 Beauvais, France [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Hiroka b Marcela
2) Misterioso II & Nitro b Sagrado & Stuka Jr.
3) Hijo del Fantasma & Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr. & Sangre Azteca

France! Sangre Azteca says they drew 3,000, despite rain, a world cup qualifier for France, and a boycott. Apparently, other promoters had been spreading word that these would not actually be the wrestlers, but locals using their gear and pretending to be them. Not so much, but they canceled a preliminary match between French wrestlers just to make it clear it was an all Mexican show. Three match show seems short, but 3,000 sounds pretty good (more than they were drawing in Spain, IIRC.)

CMLL (SUN) 11/15 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, MT, superluchas]
1) Nocturno b Templario
2) Relampago Azul b Siki Osama
3) Angelo & Astaroth b Ebola & Exterminador
4) Mascarita Dorada, Meteoro, Saturno DQ Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
5) La Sombra, Strong Man, Volador Jr. b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
6) Egipcio L Gallo, León Blanco, Ráfaga, Neutrón, Samurai, Magnum, Infierno [cage, mask]

I think I have it in reverse corner of escape there. Final three were Gallo, Leon, and Egipico. Leon left his rival (at least from earlier this year) in the cage to escape. Egipico pinned Gallo for a three count…but his feet were on the ropes, and the commissioner ran in to order the restart. Gallo rallied for the win. Egipico, correctly predicted as the loser a couple weeks ago in the Box Y Lucha foro, is Luis Francisco Villareal, 33 years old, 14 years a wrestler, and a student of Gran Cochisse.

Mini rudos got DQed when Damian pulled Dorada’s mask. Rudos destroyed the tecnicos after the match.

Also, a random appearance of Puebla’s Siki Ozama.

Like perhaps you, I spent some time after last night’s posts trying to figure out – if not Vangelis, who else? There’s really just not that many unmasked rudos running around CMLL at the moment.

* Black Warrior already lost in this feud, and is hanging out in the Bermuda Triangle.
* Heavy Metal is barely around and seems not in anyone’s plans.
* Loco Max can’t be taken serious enough
* Negro Casas just lost his hair, and doesn’t fit with Texano & Terrible
* Satanico’s retired in Mexico City, and should be teaming with other people too

That’s pretty much the list, unless you want to start reaching down to the likes of Escorpion (was in a major hair match this time last year!) and Disturibio.

There’s actually one more real candidate – or at least was. This morning, Cesar’s got a post up saying Hijo de Lizmark was the original choice for a new trio with Texano & Terrible, called Los Renegados. Except, Negro Casas is said to have intervened and Hijo de Lizmark helped make his case by being his flaky self. Now, they may try to launch Los Renegados again, just with Vangelis in that spot. I think I’d rather have Vangelis than Hijo del Lizmark, actually.

Catch up of some Fuego en el Ring links I missed over the last week:
Brazo de Plata & Maximo talk about Porky’s return to GDL. Maximo says they’re going to Japan in March. I’d bet that’s the Dradtion group.
– Ultimo Guerrero explains why he never goes on these tours: Ultimo Guerrero is so good, it costs too much to book him. But he’s hoping the tours are successful, so they bring more money for the likes of him, Atlantis, Mistico, etc. UG hopes to have 12/10 off, to rest up for the big Laguna vs GDL match on 12/11 as part of the Guadalajara Lucha Libre Festival.

Cesar gives credit to Maximo for surpassing his own character yesterday.

AAA has Extreme Tiger and Ozz, signing autographs.

Cronicas y Leyenda looks back at Villano III vs Signo from 1977.

Box Y Lucha 2948 has La Parka Jr. ready to unmask Dr. Wagner. I believe that’ll be a double main event with Fuerza & Octagon.

  1. Or you could dump Garza in to make it Mexico teaming up for revenge. Let’s just avoid Porky getting revenge for Maximo or Shocker if they decide to go that route.

  2. “Apparently, other promoters had been spreading word that these would not actually be the wrestlers, but locals using their gear and pretending to be them.” How dare they ?!? Damn you French promoters !
“Egipcio L Gallo, León Blanco, Ráfaga, Neutrón, Samurai, Magnum, Infierno [cage, mask]” Yes! I actually was right. I won’t say what my record is for this year, but you can count how many times I’ve been right on one hand. :)

  3. @Tim: Virus is the name I meant to use when I started! Darn it.

I think we would be cool with Virus being in there, but they clearly see a size issue for using him higher up the card. And someone remembered the Nuevo Infernales exist this week, which may have affected their choice.

@Alan: CMLL is stuck on rudos only teaming with rudos, even though this is country vs country. And Vangelis being on the team makes it look like they actually could lose, as opposed to Garza or Panther or someone like that.

  4. They could have No Limit turn on Ray Mendoza and put him in there. Sure it would suck but he’s mexican and a rudo

  5. Why is everyone trying to find guys to replace Vangelis? You’re all a bunch of haters.

El Egipcio II = Irlandes = son of Raul Armas.

I wonder what Siki Osama was doing in GDL? Vacation? Hopefully he can catch a ride back on CMLL’s dime to work tonight’s show.

Supposedly Mascarita Dorada got hurt early in the match and there was blood coming out of his mask which is why they ended early on a DQ.

  6. Seeing Avisman and Chico Che both nearly bald in the same IWRG match makes me realize that there is a great match IWRG should run as its year end show. Why not have everyone who lost a stip match for them in the last year in some sort of specialty match to end the year? I don’t know how many wrestlers that would be, but it seems like quite a few. It would probably have to be some sort of Royal Rumble style match so that the Arlequins could get multiple entrances. IWRG could really use another specialty match anyway.

Speaking of the Arlequin’s, Arlequin Negro is back way sooner than expected. And the Arlequin’s have spray foam. I think unmasked Yack should be regularly teamed with the Traumas.
