Puebla, Aficion, Blue Panther movie

CMLL (MON) 11/09 Arena Puebla [r de rudo, el sol de puebla]
1) Barbaro I & Fuerza Chicana b Milenium & Tigre Rojo
2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Inquisidor b Guerrero Maya Jr., Molotov, Starman
3) Euforia, Pólvora, Virus b Fabián el Gitano, Horus, Metro
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

All clean finishes, nothing of note happening here.

CMLL (TUE) 11/10 Arena Aficion [EdR]
1) Chesster b Krypton
2) Samot b Plaga
3) Exotico & Maldito Jr. NC Gringo Loco (Chicago) & Pandemonium
4) Trauma I & Trauma II b Chico Che & Star Boy
5) Puma King & Tiger Kid b Ángel de Oro & Ángel de Plata

No contest in the third match was due to Chico Che attacking Gringo Loco in revenge for the hair loss, beating him around the arena. Pandemonium got hurt around the same time, so the match just sort of ended.

Trauma II snuck in a foul for a win, while Puma King pulled Angel de Plata’s mask.

Looks like a very sparse crowd.

Preview of tonight’s Arena Mexico: ESTO says Shocker has a match. That’s all they got.

AAA says the Dallas show is 12/03.

Blue Panther was at the premire of a short film about Blue Panther’s life. The students of Instituto Politecnico Nacional put together a 52 minute piece with interviews from fellow wrestlers. I so need to see this.

Box Y Lucha has a lot of boxing articles, and Villano III telling stories from his road trip. Amusing that a promoter announced that would be the last time Villano III would ever be wrestling in that town (even though V3 hadn’t agreed to it); maybe that needs to be a hint.

Cronicas y Leyendas looks back at Brazo de Plata, rookie of the year 1979. I was going to point out the rare picture of a thin Super Porky, but he’s clearly sucking in his gut in the picture. Present day, there’s Porky telling Box Y Lucha how happy he was for the cheers of the CMLL crowd, and a kcidis illustration of Brazo de Plata and a mirror.

Luchas 2000 #495 has the Brazos, and interview with Mantra (who sets himself up as a rival of Octagon; that won’t lead to many wins.)

  1. Cool new design. I like that feature when you scroll over people’s names with website links. Just saw kcidis site while scrolling over his name.

Also like that this theme has the blog title in BIG GINORMOUS LETTERS! Its like L.A. Park is screaming the name at me.:) Should also help those with poor vision.

  2. The new design for the website looks awesome ! That Blue Panther movie looks like a must see. Possibly academy award winning.

  3. So I guess the reason they pushed the Dallas show back to December was because Jack and Teddy were also gonna be working those ROH dates? I’d be more excited if I knew I was going to get to go after all.

  4. UGH. I hate change. But this looks cool.:) Don’t suppose the new look also includes a permaban on Daniel? No? Rats…

I remember when CMLL’s Tuesday shows at Arena Aficion used to have Mistico/Volador vs Averno/Mephisto main events in front of full houses. Things have sure changed.

  5. I like the new design, but I am sans an internet capable pc, so I may have a few bugs with the site you hadn’t noticed viewing it on a crackberry.
Background doesn’t work well with text unless you zoom in.
Mobile site still sux with Crackberrys.
The scrollover stuff doesn’t work… Dunno if that’s different than iphone.

  6. I’m having problem with the design actually. The grey part stops a few lines in and leaves me with black text on a brown background.

  7. @Nikita: Can you try it one more time? Just added a new mobile theme, maybe that’ll help.

@djowalsen: I bet you’re on IE, because I just looked at in there and it looks real bad. Let me see what I can do.

  8. IE should be better. As always, my own coding messed it up. I’ll read add the removed links in a better way later on.

  9. @Rob

If there was a permaban on Daniel then how could you get your jollies by doing your whole fake Daniel bit?

  10. I wonder why WON puts all the Mexico ratings in the AAA section, and all the indy news from Mexico in the CMLL section?

    Cool upgrade Cubs.

I think it would be great if AAA and ROH could work together. Hart and Evans are a little stale, especially after not doing a hair match for their feud, so ROH would benefit from their return. Delirious would be great in AAA. I think the fans would get a kick out of the promos he does.

  11. Maybe not… I think I might be bouncing back and forth now between regular site and mobile… But I’m not sure cuz its different, lol.

  12. Actually that’s not your fault Fredo. When you hit “reply” for some reason the “type your comments here” line comes up as well even if you delete it first.

  13. @Rob: Yea, it wasn’t playing nice with the reply button. So I got rid of that text. If you can’t figure out this is a comment box, I guess you’re out of luck.

  14. Cool. I thought I was screwing it up.

Just noticed the Konnan audio is up on F4/WON. I guess I’ll listen to it while I work on dvds. Let’s see how long it will take for Bryan to ask about MMA!

    OH SHIT!!!!

30 seconds….I didn’t even get to submit my comment before the word “Strikeforce” was brought up!

  15. @Alfredo: Let us know what else Konnan says. He’s always a great guest on shows.

I assume they’ll talk MMA, ratings, ROH, backstage politics, and the other stuff that he been mentioned lately.

  16. @LLL: I posted a bunch of comments on my twitter page. I don’t want thecubsfan to get in trouble for my opinions given that AAA’s webmaster frequents this site. Here’s the link to my twitter page:

    http://twitter.com/therealfredo

It starts right after my comments about Dr. Lucha’s appearance.

  17. Thanks.

You know, I was thinking how stupid it is to not have Konnan on the Dallas show. He should be on it. I’d expect those guys to work Matamoros, Saltillo, and ACM on that swing.

  18. So who else do you guys think reads this site? Fredo says AAA webmaster. I wonder if Bryan Alvarez does? What about CMLL? I assume Superluchas.net does. Maybe a TNA person or two.

What ever happened to Chui? That guy was awesome.

  19. @Rob: A failed dated reference too. Strikeforce was Martel and Tito Santana after Zenk left breaking up the Can-Am Connection. Two of my favorite tag teams from that era.

  20. And to join in late on the new design compliments, I like it now that I’ve gotten used to it. It was a little jarring when I first saw it.

  21. @LLL: Most of the Superluchas guys know of various sites online like this one, Figure-4/WON, even mine. Superluchas has linked to news from here.

Bryan skims through the site. He’s had thecubsfan on his podcast in the past and cubs posts on their board. He thanks cubs every week in his newsletter.

  22. @Alan: You’ve bested me this time! But give me a break, I was only 6 at the time. I remember crying (really) when I saw Rick Martel walk away from Tito at Wrestlemania. It just wasn’t very nice. Especially after that awesome double figure-four spot!

@LLL: The Islanders suck. They should have never been allowed to get Tavares.

  23. @Alfredo: Here’s my serious question…

Does Bryan know that Konnan straight up lies to him and just ignores it b/c he wants to keep having him on or does he just not realize the obvious lies being told? Or maybe lies is the wrong words… maybe “inaccuracies” is better.

  24. @LLL: I wasn’t ever really an Islanders fan, I would say I was mostly into CanAm/Strikeforce and Demolition during that era with the Killer Bees being entertaining when they got on TV and the Rockers when they showed up a year or two later.

@Rob: I don’t remember who’s side I took during the Strikeforce breakup. Given the Model gimmick, I would like to think I would have sided with Santana, but it is hard to say. You do get a pass for being 6 at the time since I was almost double your age at the time.
