AAA Six Flags, movie, Val Venis

Nothing much noteworthy about the two matches from Tuesday I didn’t have results on yesterday. Tecnicos took both, including Tigre Blanco winning his first unmasked match since the Kid Guzman days.

AAA’s Six Flag tapings are being moved to 11/29. It’s only one night now, and seems to be only a Lucha Libre Premier taping. NoSin Limite taping. There’s a press conference Friday to announce the show, which will be the finals of the Premier taping. (So much for running to December. Or for running out of Mexico City.) The top 4 point scorers – Wagner, Jack, Pimpinela, Marco, all tecnicos! – will have some sort of match for the championship.

The AAA movie will come out in January. Surprising they list Dorian as VP of Creative & New Projects – on TV, isn’t he just supposed to be Joaquin’s kid with no other role?

CMLL’s saying Val Venis postponed his tour for personal reasons, and they don’t know when he’ll come in, but he’ll be coming in at some point.

Fuego en el Ring has an interview with Dragon Rojo, who credits biased referee for losing that title match with Valiente. He notes his feud with Mascara Dorada goes back to the finals of Gran Alternativa. Dragon beat Metalik in that final (“it’s no secret that [Dorada] fought as Metalik, you know, everyone knows, people aren’t stupid”), and figures that loss motivated Dorada to become a champion, so Dragon’s just going to prove he’s still better. Dragon says he’ll probably win, and he’s going to come up with battle plans for both Dorada and the referee, if it’s needed. OK, that’s it, I’m rooting for Dragon Rojo here. (And will be let down.)

Dragon Rojo will also be appearing on TV Azteca drama Pobre Diabla. The storyline is a priest becomes a luchador to make money for his orphanage. Very unique.

Misterioso is excited to go back to France, and hopes he gets a chance to go to Japan next year.

CMLL notes the Sangre Azteca profile on mySpace is fake, and the ones on hi5 and Facebook are real. Of course, they only give the link to the fake one.

Cibernetico & Octagon explain their side of yesterday’s stories

AAA sent out responses to the Octagon & Cibernetico stories to accredited media last night. I am not one of those, so I’ll just link to the Box Y Lucha article.

Cibernetico’s the easy one. (That’s what she/he said.) He has no idea how the picture got on the internet, he barely uses the internet. He does know where the naked picture came from: his took it himself on his cell phone to send to a woman, a woman he married three months ago. (Must be a good picture.)

I actually believe almost all of that story, except the idea that Cibernetico just sent that photo to his wife. Unless his wife likes making fake profiles on adult sites. I guess we’re supposed to go with someone stealing the phone or the camera, though I lean more towards Cibernetico sending that picture to people besides his wife, maybe people who aren’t thrilled he now has a wife. It sure sounds like the act of a jilted person, but Cibernetico’s only guilty of being foolish and it’s easy to have sympathy for his situation

Not so much Octagon. His explanation includes these points

– he was meeting with friends, and had two glasses
– he ran into a roadblock, admitted he had been drinking, but felt in perfect condition
– he still failed the breathalyzer
– he can’t believe people reported on this, it’s an invasion of privacy.

Reporting Octagon’s DUI is not an incredible invasion of privacy. DUIs by celebrities and sporting figures get reported all the time. It’s only noteworthy because they had to figure out the masked identity of the arrested, but it sure sounds like told them that.

The article itself wasn’t really as much about Octagon as much about the varying types of people who’ve been pulled over for DUI.

Even if you believe this shouldn’t have been a story, the much bigger crime here is driving drunk – everything else is a lame attempt to deflect the attenton from the person it should be (on the person who was driving drunk.)

11/7-8 Lucha Times

box. FWIW, looks like Ras de Lona is going up on the Blip TV RSS feed as a I write this. Caught a couple minutes of the episode on LATV and it looks like an amusing Halloween special.

AAA-US: Not totally sure. It should be the Taping Wherever Everything Happened, which only aired in Mexico last week. A 8 day turnaround would be the shortest in many years (need to figure this out, but it’s gotta be back to when they were airing CMLL) – it’s not something that should be impossible, but it has been. If it airs, you’ve got Marco/Chessman in a singles match and the Psycho Circus in the main event.

52MX: Tuareg/Nosfreatu vs Air Force/Starman, plus a grab bag main event

CMLL-MEX: CMLL tweeted their time slot for the week! Makes life much earlier. 2 hours = top 3 matches. Zero ongoing angles for this show, since it was built for the debut that ain’t happening any more.

AAA-MEX: This should be the Leon taping, with the WagnerManiacs vs the Legion

CMLL-FOX: timeslot moved once again. This week, it looks like it’s 6:30pm, right before the MLS game. A novato on novato opener, and Garza/Shocker/Volador vs Averno/Terrible/Texano main event.

AAA-FOX: and this is at 9:30, or right after that MLS game. Not sure what we have here, but seeing as they’re not taping until the end of the month (and, from what AAA posted about it, that’s the last taping), they’ve got to make these stretch again. This’ll probably be a repeat of last week.

C3: Mephisto vs Naito, Dorado/Mistico/Volador vs Ephesto/Felino/Negro

Puebla: Gotta drop the match when 1/3rd of the guys in don’t show up, right? I’m guessing 1-2-4-5

Monterrey: The juggle of the lineup means the Konnan match makes TV and the Jack/Teddy one does not – unless they’ve changed the system here, which they well could’ve without me noticing.
