Porky talks return, charity show, Perros, lineups

GALLI show was fun, and I’ll write about when I get a chance. It won’t be long, don’t worry. And I keep forgetting to write up the Juarez results, so they’ll be added on Monday.

If I’m reading the comment thread right, !force majure! caused AAA to air a rerun. Wonder if this means the US will catch up 7 days more, and only be 8 days behind Mexico for the first time in years.

Super Porky’s return to CMLL got picked up in a few different places: El Siglo de Torreon (using el Unviersal’s story) and Notimex have versions, with other picking up the story. The story goes, Super Porky was in an airprot – in a wheelchair, due to a leg injury – where Paco Alonso happened to run into him. Paco saw him, got him a doctor visit (Porky had high pressure and maybe a heart infraction), then got him booked back on shows. It’s a very nice move of Paco to help someone who is down on their luck, but you can actually help him without making him a main eventer. Cesar notes the same thing: no one else was using Brazo de Plata as a top wrestler, why is CMLL?. A possible V5/Plata hair mask doesn’t really help either guy, much less CMLL. On the same note, Cesar looks at CMLL’s lackluster card for Halloween Eve.

A group of indy wrestles, like Solar, Super Astro, and el Fantasma, wrestled a free show for children in the custody of the government, due to familial abuse. Beyond their other issues, the children are all displaced this week because they’re remodeling their group home. Oddly, this was advertised as a CMLL show, despite not actually having CMLL wrestlers.

The Perros del Mal press conference by ESTO and mediotiempo (video). The only new piece of information is AAA has been sending promoters warnings not to book the ex-AAA guys under their AAA names, or they might get sued. Countersuing is mentioned.

NotiMex interviews Nikkia, who will be making her debut on Rey Bucanero’s night club show (La Bodega de Tecamac Zapata) next Friday. Her family is not so thrilled with the career move: she was forbidden from watching lucha libre, then trained in secret. When her mom found out, Nikkia was sent to the church to pray. Don’t have a full lineup, but the article mentions the women’s match is Nikkia/Marcela vs Amapola/Nazi, and Stuka & Flash will actually defend their Coliseo tag team titles vs Euforia & Skandalo. It’s a half a new team!

Ultimo Guerrero has no memory of anything after taking Strong Man’s powerbomb, and spent the night in the hospital. “Strong Man will pay!”

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 10/29 Arena Naucalpan
1) Guerrero 2000 vs Posideon
2) Mascara Magnifica & Pendulo vs Maldito Jr. & Samoa
3) Bushi, Chico Che, Suicida vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco
4) Trauma I, Trauma II, Ultramán Jr. vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) Oficial 911, Oficial Fierro, Super Porky vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Tóxico

Porky apparently has the OK to work IWRG shows. The Villanos have as well, very occasionally, so I guess Porky’s being considered an independent like them. Guerrero 2000 was an opening match wrestler for AAA as late as 1999. Odds are low it’s the same one.

CMLL (SUN) 11/01 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Principe vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Delta, Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Pólvora, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Blue Panther, Máximo, Toscano vs Ephesto, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
5) Héctor Garza, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Not a lot of activity here.

CMLL (SUN) 11/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Idolo & Nube Roja vs Exterminador & In Memoria
2) Egipcio & Samurai vs Gallo & Rafaga
3) Neutrón, Rouge, Stuka Jr. vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Virus
4) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Místico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Match to be added. Second match is not billed as such, but appears to be a parajes increidble match. I guess the Dragon Rojo/Dorada match was just a one week thing (or they’ll be making changes.)

IWRG (SUN) 11/01 Arena Naucalpan
1) Mascara Magnifica & Star Boy vs Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo del Signo
2) Flor Metalica & Josseline vs La Diabólica & Lady Metal
3) Bushi, Eragon, Exodia vs Capitán Muerte, Gringo Loco, Oficial AK47
4) Dr. Cerebro & Suicida vs Oficial Fierro & Trauma I [loser advance]
5) Tinieblas Jr. vs Olímpico, Tóxico, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Jack, Trauma II, Oficial 911, Xibalba, Fantasma de la Ópera, Bobby Lee Jr. [cage, mask]

Castle of Terror, with some names returning for the first time in a while. By vast coincidence, this is listed as a taping for Teleformula, which would be a new network. (And one that seems to be have a web feed, but not one I can get to work.)

Looks like they’re going to give the women a chance, even after the joshi girls leave. Not that anything lasts here long.

Semimain sets up a match next week (not standard practice, and a sign their TV might be lasting for more than one week.) The losing team faces off in a hair or mask match, and one side sure looks more likely than the other.

Cage match is a bit concerning, because Jack is the low man on that totem pole. On the other hand, if someone’s suddenly decided the Oficials or Traumas no longer should be masked, they can make a lot of progress in 8 days.
