10/16 Arena Mexico – Black Warrior vs Yujiro occasionally live results

SuperLuchas is doing live results, covering the stuff I wasn’t around to listen to. EstadioW seems to have been going for quite some time. Crowd is loud.

CMLL (FRI) 10/16 Arena Mexico
1) Molotov & Starman b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei b Estrella Mágica, Lluvia, Marcela
3) Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
4) Volador Jr. b Averno [lightning]

As expected, Volador asked for the mask match. Averno decided to distract him by offering a title match too. No one said the name of the title, which makes me believe neither man could remember what title Averno has. It took me a second to remember Averno still had a title.

I wish I hadn’t messed up the poll. Oh well.

Random interesting article to keep you busy in between results. I always tell my groupies not to do interviews, but what are you going to do. (It gets less interesting from there.)

5) Místico, Shocker, Strong Man DQ Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

  • tecnicos win fall one
  • UG fouls Strong Man in fall 2.

6) Yujiro b Black Warrior [hair]

  • Okumura &  Dragon Rojo are seconds.
  • Black Warrior wins a super quick first fall
  • Yujiro wins a slightly longer second fall
  • Warrior started off the third fall with a big dive, which caused the non Julio Cesar Rivera announcer to see how long he could hold a single note. A couple times.
  • Yujiro gets the win to mild boos. Couldn’t have been more than 15 minutes, probably less.
  • Doesn’t seem like they’re doing anything post match. So that’s it.

Mexico Preview, lucha libre premier

(Facebook site is gone. Hooray. Though you could’ve just emailed me to work something out. I’m actually OK with people not on this site reading stuff I wrote, as long as it’s clear I wrote it – or whomever wrote it, in the case of the links – and some way of pointing people back towards me if they want more)

6) Black Warrior vs Yujiro [hair]

Can’t think of anything good to say about this show. Yujiro will probably win. Not many people will be there to see it. Regardless of who loses, someone who has a longer term future for CMLL should be winning (Dr. Lucha speculated Warrior may just be about done with lucha libre), but it’s not as though there are long term plans.

Semimain is a trailer for the Sunday match. Volador/Averno probably will end in a mask challenge, but there’s no reason to believe they’re actually going somewhere with it. It probably would be really good for one or the another to actually win the mask, because neither really has much of a significant mask/hair win, but that’s not how things go here. Tercera should be rally good, but it looks to be in a non-air spot unless TDN picks up. I wonder if Estrella Magica will actually air this time.

IWRG (THU) 10/15 Arena Naucalpan [EdR]
2) Eragon & Jack b Epidemia & Heavy Boy
3) Arlequin Amarillo, Arlequin Rojo, La Rata b Bushi, Exodia, Pendulo
4) Emoto Atzuki, Kimura Kioko, Nakagawa b Diabolico, Flor Metalica, Josseline
5) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. [IWRG IC TRIOS]

Oficials retain. Women’s trios instead of the Gringo Loco/Hombre Bala Jr. match.

LuchandoLibre says AAA will indeed be taping the next Lucha Libre Premier on 10/23 in Mexico City.

El Sol de Cuautla has an interview with AAA mini tecnicos. Mini Charly Manson says he may actually defend his title sometime soon.

Mesias visited a sick child in the hospital, which is very nice of him. Mesias promised the kid he’d win back the AAA title, which is not nice of him – no more Mesias/Wagner, for the sake of the children, please.

Vangelis figures 2010 is the year he’s going to beat Mistico to win the National Light Heavyweight title. It’s great that he’s never given up on this. If only someone else was aware of this concept. Vangelis was disappointed the Gran Alternativa turned out like it did, but figures if he’s really good, he’ll get opportunities. Vangelis also thanks god more times than you’d expect for a Nazi.

Hijo del Santo is now in Belgium to promote his comic. They published it in French and Flemish for Belgium.

DTU inaugurations it’s new school on 11/19 with a wrestling show. Main event is Electroshock vs Negro Navarro.

A grade school had an assembly on water conversation, ending with a lucha libre match. The rudo tried to encourage the children to waste water, but was soundly beat.
