Scorpio Jr. 25th Anniversary, CMLL anniversary notes

BUAP (WED) 08/26 Polideportivo Ignacio Manual Altamirano [Poblanerias]
1) Mascarita Dorada & Octagoncito (original) vs Mr. Aguilita & Pequeño Halloween
2) Josseline & Martha Villalobos b La Diabólica & Rossy Moreno
3) El Alebrije & Oriental b Monsther & Scorpio Jr.
4) Blue Demon Jr., Juventud Guerrera, Super Porky b Histeria, Mr. Águila, Psicosis
5) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo ?? El Hijo Del Santo

That didn’t take Oriental long. Of course, there are reports that Oriental has said he’s not leaving AAA, but that sure looks like him elsewhere. We’ll see.

IWRG (THU) 08/27 Arena Naucalpan [EdR, Mr. Reyes]
1) Talisman Jr. b Fly Star
2) Miss Gaviota & Star Boy b Carta Brava Jr. & Vampiro Metálico
3) Bushi, Chico Che, Freelance b Avisman, Fantasma de la Ópera, Gringo Loco
4) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. [EdM Trios]
5) Head Hunter I & Sangre Chicana b Scorpio Jr. & Villano III

This was Scorpio’s 25th anniversary, so everyone gave him a big trophy – and the he got forked in the match. I prefer cake. Scorpio accidentally hit the ref at the end, and Sangre snuck in a foul on V3. Those two challenged hair vs hair and both guys are looking like they have more hair than usual.

Pirata/Cerebros looks good. Champs retained clean, with the Cerebros beating Morgna Jr. and Black Terry pinning captain Hijo del Pirata.

Freelance got hurt in his match, but came back and fought on to the win. He’s looking for a title shot vs Avisman. Speaking of Freelance, Segunda Caida has him as #11 of 2008. I have faith that they’ll finish this countdown by the end of the month.

Anniversary card rundowns: Ovaciones, Notimex, Mistico, and ESTO. Nothing new of any note. Negro & Mistico were respectful towards each during the hype, and they built it as experience vs youth. Tickets prices are set from 50 MXP to 500 (3.77 to 37.77.) That seems down from last year, but they ended up doing a 2×1 deal for some areas when ticket sold slowly. There’s no word where/if this show will be broadcasted, and I suspect that’s TBD based off on how the advance looks. Hope they give at least 48 hours warning this time.

The only other news reported from the press conference is the imminent debut of “Jon Strongman”, a new Guapo recruit of Shocker. I don’t want make pre-judgments, because may he’ll be really great and we’ll all be thrilled, but Ultimo Guerrero brings in Laguna wrestlers who are rare but talented, and Shocker brings in body builders. Might need new music.

LuchaWorld has one two KrisZ’s news updates.

AAA (MON) 09/21 Coliseo Gym, San Mateo Otzacatipan, Mexico
1) Aerostar & Argenis vs May Flowers & Yuriko
2) Cibernético & Súper Fly vs Escoria & Ozz

What a weird great idea for a team.

  1. 2) Cibernético & Súper Fly vs Escoria & Ozz

I’m taking all bets that Cibernetico turns on Super Fly

  2. TDN gets the Lightning match and the tercera. Lightning was fun, but I didn’t think it flowed as well as some of the better matchups.

  3. Ouch! Stuka Jr. hit Skandalo with Skandalo’s finisher and it was not pretty. They didn’t show if he got stretchered out or not, but he was moving some, so that’s a good sign.

  4. You reckon that Blue Demon Jr. at the BUAP show was legit? I’m fairly certain the one I saw at an indy show a couple weeks ago was fake. For one, he was a decent worker, and I know the real Blue Demon Jr. is mediocre as hell.

I figured if he was real, he’d be carrying the NWA world title with him, but then I remembered Mexicans don’t really care about title belts, so that kind of shot that down.

  5. That’s usually Demon’s crew so I would think it was him.

Demon is the exception to the rule about titles b/c he is married to that NWA Title. He paid good money for it so he never lets it out of his sight. Who else was on the indy show? That’d be a good way to figure out if you saw the real Demon or not. (I’m guessing it was)

  6. He was actually billed as “Blue Demond” in the poster advertising the show, but was announced to the ring as Blue Demon Jr. He wrestled in the main event with L.A. Park and Antifaz against Rayo De Jalisco Jr., Tinieblas Jr., and Intocable.

The semi featured Maniaco, Histeria, and the fake Psicosis.
