this week’s CMLL lineups

CMLL (TUE) 08/18 Arena Mexico
1) As Jr. & Bengala vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Horus, Metálico, Tigre Blanco vs Calígula, Inquisidor, Méssala
3) Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Mascara Dorada vs Hijo de Lizmark, Mr. Niebla, Virus
5) Ephesto, Terrible, Texano Jr. vs Héctor Garza, Shocker, Toscano

Pierrothio gets to celerbate his mask win with a tercera. Fantasma/Mascara/Dorada trios continues to team. They’ve won the last two weeks, though they’re facing an odd combo this week.

CMLL (FRI) 08/21 Arena Mexico
1) Principe & Sensei vs Cholo & Zayco
2) Ángel Azteca, Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman vs Dr. X, Pólvora, Tiger Kid
3) Lady Apache vs Hiroka [lightning]
4) Máximo, Metro, Valiente vs Euforia, Misterioso II, Nosferatu
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Último Guerrero
6) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Blue Panther, La Sombra, Místico

Mistico returns to face the usuals. Will they make the mask/hair match official here, one month out? Black Warrior recruits the Guerreros to fight No Limit, which makes as much sense as you’re going to get to keep Mendoza around one more week. Note Azteca in the segunda; LuchandoLibre had a lineup for an Arena Neza show last night where Ultraman Jr. was working the semimain, so I wonder if he’s done here.

Hiroka is 2-0 a singles match.

CMLL (SUN) 08/23 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Trueno vs Camorra & Semental
2) Nitro, Pólvora, Skandalo vs Astro Boy, Delta, Tigre Blanco
3) Estrella Magica, Lluvia, Marcela vs Amapola, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Mascara Dorada, Sagrado vs Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Místico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Blanca/Lluvia goes on. Good for Delta, starting at the segunda level.

Mexico results, Mr. Rafaga loses mask, Mistico wins IGWP JH

CMLL (FRI) 08/14 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, Cesar]
1) Bengala & Horus b Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Arkangel de la Muerte b Flash [lightning]
3) Metro, Pegasso, Rey Cometa b Loco Max, Nitro, Skandalo
4) Mascara Dorada, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Ephesto, Misterioso II, Virus
5) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca b Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro
6) Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero b Héctor Garza, Shocker, Toscano

In the main, Atlantis got Garza with an Atlantida and Ultimo Guerrero got Shocker with a reinera.

No Limit got DQed in the first fall for excessive violence, Poder Mexica took the second.

Nitro returns and loses. Oh well. I think they might have switched around the lineup so they could do the Nitro return after Arkangel’s lightning match, but it’s still a bit odd. Horus looked bad in the opener.

Mistico and his new belt
Mistico and his new belt

Ovaciones says Mr. Rafaga lost the Puebla cage match to Pierrothito. Mr. Rafaga is Arturo Santillan. DJ Spectro says he’s 50 years old. I had no idea he was that old.

Earlier today, Mistico won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship from Tiger Mask IV. Mistico is the second Mexican to have won that championship (Juvi’s sometimes discounted reign is technically first.) There’s video of the match here. Okumura took the direct loss in the opener.

indy (THU) 08/13 Arena Olimpico Laguna de Gomez Palacio [El Siglo de Torreon]
4) Último Guerrero b Ephesto [CMLL HEAVY]

UG won the first fall, Ephesto the second, UG the third.

The Escorpion debuting next week in Puebla is Escorpion Negro, who was hadn’t been on TV since earlier January, but was scheduled to be working AAA shows as late as this Monday.

PY has an interview with Crazy Star, who explains she’s out due to a bacteria that’s attacking her liver and kidneys. That’s quite rough.

AAA’s note on the Lucha Libre Premier show says the shows will not air until September, so maybe we’ve got more weeks of CMLL before things settle out. The article also says they’ll be taping in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla and elsewhere.

An interview with Joaquin Roldan says AAA will be rolling out a mobile messaging service, though if they have trouble getting the latest information on their website (still no listing for a TV taping in two days), adding on to it doesn’t seem like a greatest idea. There’s a mention at the end mentioning AAA redoing their logo in the upcoming weeks.

Veneno’s blog has pictures of him at the lucha libre expo, under the purple mask as the official luchador of the expo.

Ohtani’s Jacket checks out Sergio el Hermoso & Bello Greco vs Fujiwara & Kimura in NJ + Chicana, Fiera, Cota vs Los Infernales from 1983 + Karadagain & Mummy, and also Dr. Wagner & Espanto Jr. vs Celestial & Coloso, and Espanco IV & Espanto V vs Estrella Blancas from UWA 1992.

No lineups up, of course.
