  1. Aero Star is a nutcase for doing those two dives on a tiny show like this with the biggest match of his career coming up. I love it!

I’m not surprised at all that a match with one guy who isn’t allowed on TV, two guys who can’t escape the opening match and a fourth guy who will be back to opening matches after Verano De Escandalo put on a better match than anything you will see on AAA TV these days.

  2. [Sorry Cubs for using the f word]

Who gives a fuck about AAA or CMLL or whatever, what is going on in xlaw!!!!

    not!

  3. Anyway, my computer is acting up, and keeps erasing my name, LLL.

Somehow, I didn’t meet up with Tim. Dos Caras Jr., worked as “El Dorado” and teamed with Espiral, losing when Dos didn’t get out of the ring before the five count. Unreal.

  4. Oh… so they’re pushing him as the most incompetent wrestler in the world? At least it’s a gimmick and if you ask some it’s not far off from a shoot.

CMLL on LATV is repeats though, right?

  5. Yes. Repeats.

Bruch Prichard rang the bell, and the match stopped, and it seemed like that wasn’t the planned finish. Everyone stormed to the back disappointed. Maybe it was planned, but either way, it was bad.

Dos was in the ring and doing well and tagged Espiral. He sling shot Espiral over the top rope onto his opponent. Dos stayed in the ring and grabbed the guys legs for a double team effort, dropped the guy while lifting him, then Prichard rang the bell, in a way that let everyone know it was a disappointment.

  6. Stop playing mind games with us Keit… the world wants to know… what happened with Sad-dude and Parca!!!

  7. Yes I was there Keith. I was near the announcer desk and it was Tom Pritchard. Low Ki was in the building. He should have shoot kicked Dos right in the head.

  8. Come to think of it, Dos with a gimmick where he gets hypnotized by Sico’s desk and it causes him to turn into the Shockmaster would be brilliant. Also, Dos has a Silver outfit now.

LA PArk venció a the Sandman

  10. @Tim: Oops. That’s right. It was Dr. Tom Pritchard. Can’t believe was missed each other. If you were by the announcers, if you were facing the dressing room, I was to the right sitting alone. I saw Low-Ki. You must’ve seen Haku, b/c he was sitting right in front of the annoucers.

We you in the front row? There were only like three rows, and the last row was all family and friends of the wrestlers.

  11. My computer is crashing. Keeps erasing my name.

Can’t believe two cubsfans were in attendance of about 125 and didn’t see each other.

  12. I was in the second row right by a whole bunch of empty chairs and some blond was sitting 2 chairs next to me.

  13. Oh. Were you sitting alone, or with a bunch of people?

Did you hear Dos announced as “el Dorado”? I guess you were not happy with his performance tonight. Espiral was in the ring for five seconds. What did you think of the finish of their match?

I posted it on superluchas.net that Dos wrestled as “el Dorado” but it was either removed or not approved.

  14. Yeah I was sitting alone.

Dos didn’t look bad until he tagged Espiral. After that it was all down hill. While he should get most of the blame, The ref deserves some too.

  15. So you blended in with the family and friends of the wrestlers. I was wearing a Tampa Bay Rays grey shirt. I didn’t see anyone sitting alone over there, so I didn’t approach you.

As soon as Espiral was tagged, Dos went for a double team effort and didn’t leave the ring in time, I guess thinking it’s Lucha, and he can stay in longer. That’s what it looked like. Pritchard seemed unhappy ending it. Dos kind of dropped Fatu too.

Well, hopefully we’ll meet next time.

  16. Looks like TVC Deportes decided to show the DTU show from the Expo today. I missed everything up until the main though which was not the highlight of the show.

  17. And, AAA looks like it started earlier than expected too. Not sure what they have already aired, but they are at Ciber’s challenge already, so I probably missed the excellent opener and/or Fabi’s match.

  18. Opener was too good to have been shown on AAA TV. Can’t be making the guys who “matter” look bad.

  19. Well, the show either started at 2:00 and the opener aired (that would be my guess) or at 2:30 and they started with the Ciber/Wagner segment followed by NotiAAA.

Fabi/Aero vs Billy/Sexi is on now.

  20. I wonder if Aero Star’s crazy dive will look as good on TV as it did on the youtube handheld. Sometimes AAA shoots the dives from above which makes them look awful b/c you don’t get to see the height anyone is getting.

  21. New lineups are up.

If the bookers are really operating under the theory the Friday shows are the most important b/c those are the ones the fans see as the only that matters – they sure aren’t booking that way. I’d say both Tuesday and Sunday cards (when Valiente/Azteca gets added) blow away this Friday’s lineup although I do like a lot of the wrestlers working Friday’s undercard.

    Delta debuts!
    Nitro returns!
Hiroka returns! (was she gone or just not on TV much?)
    Durango Kid sticks!

  22. Judging by the Line-up for Tuesday’s show, the next Cadena 3 show will probally be good. The Main & Semifinal could be awesome. The whole show could actually reek of AWESOMENESS !!!!

  23. @Calabcd44: Aside from the women, I agree. I’ll definitely be checking out the top 3. If they are building Sombra/Volador vs Felino/Negro or Felino/Metal I’ll be very happy.

  24. Puebla is oddly opening with the segunda. So, either the opening tag has been moved up the card (unlikely I think this week), or they figure that the locals in the segunda and minis match are good enough.

In good news, this means we’ve got some Romanos! And actually, this is a week where skipping the opener still leaves a lot of good matches.

Show opened with comments from Hector in a neck brace and shots of him backstage being attended to after the match. Also featured in the shot were his son, and an Ultimo Guerrero’s Gym towel that was thrown over Garza. If I just nearly broke my neck, can’t someone find a towel that isn’t from a gym to throw over me?

  25. ROMANOS! I thought for sure they’d be cut. Looks like a solid top 4 to show. Next week will be interesting with 6 matches on deck and a main event that is sure to go long. I’m actually hoping the opening tag makes it next week b/c it might be the only chance Semental gets to ever make TV.:)

  26. How is it possible that CMLL has built this mini’s cage match up so much better than the recent hair match in Arena Mexico? Minis match tonight ended with predictable fouls and mask tearing, but the runin by the Pueblanos and ensuing brawl that brought all of the regular roster crew together was a nice touch. I’m looking forward to next weeks match and hope the cage match finds its way onto TV or youtube at some point.

The segunda seems easy to cut next week, but I’m not sure what they cut for the other match.

  27. @Alan: I’m in favor of anything with Rouge and Mictlan in it being cut from existence. However with them facing the Poder Mexica in their home arena I don’t like the odds of it being erased from TV. 1, 3, 5 & 6 would make for an excellent show though.

  28. @Rob: I didn’t realize Poder Mexico was from Puebla. I’m surprised they aren’t pushing them vs the Japanese there too then.

Poor La Mascara. Mistico and Volador came out in their matching outfits. And La Mascara came out looking like a “one of these things is not like the others” skit.

  29. @Calabcd44: Not officially since I haven’t seen him wrestle yet but he’s a strong contender if his Ras De Lona appearence was any indication.

@Alan: I would gladly take a cheap shot at La Mascara definitely not being like the others in any way but I’ve actually grown to like him. We really miss Henrik posting here at times like these.

As for the Poder Mexica/Puebla deal, none of them are from Puebla but doesn’t it seem like they are super over in that building? There is a huge group of fans in the rafters who are big time into them and they all seem extra motivated in that building. Sorta like how Mistico could get boo’ed in any building in Mexico EXCEPT Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara where he would get a superstar tecnico reaction all match long.

  30. @Rob: OK, that makes more sense.

Speaking of the crowd, Puebla has looked like it has been drawing much better over the last month or so. I know they have been running relatively stacked cards, but I always expect the arena to be 2/3s empty on camera and they have looked pretty full for a while now.

  31. I finally got around to watching the Pegasso/Cometa/Metro vs Infernals/Vangelis match from TDN that aired on Saturday. A few things of note from the match.
    1. The match had no commercial breaks between falls on TDN. They did air some replays and it looked like it was probably the feed from Friday night, but I think this explains how they ran an unedited match without taking any more time than what aired on the main CMLL showing.
    2. I wasn’t paying attention on Saturday, but di they air the blown spot between Cometa (I think…the one in black and silver) and Vangelis at the end of the second fall? Both Pegasso and Cometa did springboards into rollups on the rudos, but Cometa basically hit Vangelis who fell straight back instead of being rolled. Kind of looked like the fall was supposed to end there, so not sure if that was part of what led to the clipping of the first and third.
    3. Has Vangelis always come out to “If You Want My Body” by Rod Stewart? If so, Rob, how do you defend this? I know that you have justified the Nazi character, but a Nazi sympathizer who is also a Rod Stewart fan?

  32. @Alan: CMLL did air that botched spot. I’ll tell you exactly what got cut…

First cut: Just as Pegasso tags in during the first fall, they cut straight to him exiting the ring in the same fall.

Second cut: Rey Cometa does a pescado onto Vangelis in the third fall, they cut straight to Cometa back in the ring with Vangelis.

As for your query about Vangelis, I have but one thing to say…

BAAAAAAAAAAAAABY JANE DON’T LEAVE ME HANGIN’ ON THE LINE…

El Dandy came out to that for his epic mask/hair match with Santo and Casas in 1996. I marked the F out. Who wouldn’t?

The truth is – I am jewish and into punk, rock and metal. Vangelis is a nazi who uses Rod Stewart as his theme music. How then can I support this? The answer is simple…

Vangelis is so amazing he is able to break through these barriers! When Vangelis is around – jews and nazis co-exist! When Vangelis is around – Rod Stewart does a duet with Slipknot! I even hear Chuck Norris is afraid of Vangelis!

For what it’s worth, Vangelis’ other theme song was YMCA when he was part of Los Warriors. Would you prefer to be sitting front row watching this? -> http://www.dailymotion.com/user/ReyViper13/video/x9ivic_los-warriors

    Pena was a genius.
