CMLL (FRI) 07/31 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Box Y Lucha, Ovaciones, Cesar]
1) Euforia, Skandalo, VirusFlash, Metalico, Stuka Jr.
2) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, SagradoAverno, Ephesto, Mephisto
3) La Sombra, Mistico, Volador Jr.Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Ultimo Guerrero
4) NaitoToscanoHector GarzaNegro CasasBlack WarriorTerribleTexano Jr.ShockerYujiroShigeo OkumuraBlue PantherMaximoRay Mendoza Jr.Heavy MetalMictlan [cage, hair]

Match was announced as a ten minute time limit before escape, but it turned out to be more like 5.  Order of escape: Metal, Panther, Okumura, Terrible, Maximo, Shocker, Texano Jr., Ray Mendoza, Negro Casas, Hector Garza (who may or may not have betrayed Toscano by leaving him behind with 3 rudos), Black Warrior and Yujiro. Naito won with a bridging suplex (thought it was a Tiger suplex last night, Ovaciones shows a German suplex but that might have been from earlier in the match, Cesar says Dragon, most everyone else says olympic bridging because the armlocks aren’t distingushed.)

This is Toscano’s second hair loss in about 14 months, and Naito’s first apuesta win.

In the semimain, Mistico won the first, Mistico had the second won but UG threw off his mask while in La Mistica to draw the DQ, and Mistico tossed his own mask in the third fall.

ESTO mentions the press had issues getting accredited to cover the show for some reason.  At least part of the show did air on the new Televisa Deportes network, and the explanation I heard is Televisa came to CMLL just yesterday to ask them to show the event, because there’s still not much programming on the TDN channel. CMLL still could’ve mentioned the airing on their website as soon as they knew, but they didn’t either care or didn’t want to risk one person not coming because they could watch it on TV.

Cesar says the attendance was 14-15,000, a big success for CMLL.

Two theories coming out of the main event finish
– Naito won big because they’re planning on No Limit losing before they leave
– Naito won big in CMLL becuase Mistico’s about to win big in NJPW

I think Naito over Toscano is a good idea. It’s not a very exciting or interesting idea, but it’s better than Toscano winning a big match in 2009, and that’s where I thought they were headed down the stretch last night.

Toscano losing his hair twice in two years makes it hard to take him seriously as a semimian level guy, but perhaps CMLL booking him that way means they don’t see it either, and there are changes coming.

Today’s TV show is said to be 50 minutes.

CMLL (WED) 07/29 Arena Xalapa [E-Consulta]
1) Mascarita Dorada & Shockercito ?? Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela ?? Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Shocker, Toscano, Volador Jr.
4) Mistico b Negro Casas [super libre]

Mistico escaped a Negro casita and got one of his own. Atlantis snuck in a foul on Volador Jr. Mascarita Dorada was talking about an upcoming minis cage match. ??? It sounds like the lead local referee here was supposed to retire after this show, but decided to keep going. (He’s a rudo.)

LLF (FRI) 07/31 Arena Femenil de Monterrey [Estralla del Ring]
1) Lady Puma DDQ Hija de Karonte [LLF Femenil, Monterrey WOMEN]

Angelica and Perla Negra ran in and attacked both women for the double disqulifaction. Why does this make the main page? Somehow, LLF ruled that this decision meant that Lady Puma lost the LLF title she held but won the Monterrey title, while Karonte lost the Monterrey title but won the LLF title. I rate that 85% insane.

Box Y Lucha has a big interview with Electroshock, about his entire career. Definitely worth reading. Electroshock talks about thinking about retiring when CMLL told him they had nothing for Ultimatum, but visiting the AAA office with his friend Black Pentagon, and Pena offering him a job, then coming up with the Electroshock gimmick.

CMLL (TUE) 08/04 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Astaroth & Thunder Boy vs Fraile de la Muerte & Relampago Azul
2) Palacio Negro & Saturno vs Angel del Mal & Infierno
3) Casanova & Gallo vs Leon Blanco & Satanico
4) Mictlan & Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto & Misterioso II
5) Hector Garza & Maximo vs Mr. Niebla & Negro Casas

Leon Blanco is officially on the rudo side.

More lineups if/when they show up.

  1. @LLL It’s a AAA match. It was taped last Sunday same as the Estrellita match and those are AAA shows.

  2. Anyone recording the ACM shows? I’m interested in seeing a non-trashy Estrellita and an even trashier Cinthia Moreno.

  3. @ Rob: The main for C3 was a good match even with the shit finish of Heavy Metal blatantly low-blowing Shocker? I only caught bits of the C3 main because the feed at work kept going to shit, so it’s hard for me to gauge. But good grief, the Tuesday crowd sure loves them some rudos! T

The love Niebla was getting at the end of the second fall was off the charts.

  5. Anyone know when tdn is supposed to be airing the cage match again? Can’t see anything obvious tomorrow and after that it becomes unclear listings again.

  6. TDN seems to be moving things around according to the posts on aransay’s board, so the grid is probably useless.
