2) Bam Bam, Bracito de Oro, Pequeño Olímpico vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
3) Estrella Magica, Lady Apache, Lluvia vs La Nazi, Princesa Sujei, Yezca
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, Mascara Dorada vs Black Warrior, Hijo del Lizmark, Virus
5) Blue Panther, Toscano, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Ultimo Guerrero

Minis match is a rematch from last week.

IWRG (THU) 08/06 Arena Naucalpan
1) Imperial vs Blasfemia
2) Bushi & Eragon vs Carta Brava Jr. & Heavy Boy
3) Exodia & Star Boy vs Carta Brava Jr. & Fantasma de la Opera
4) Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro

Bushi seems to be offically a tecnico. This is Fierro’s first match since he was hurt on June 6th. First time Star Boy has turned here in almost exactly a year. Haven’t seen results from this past Thursday yet, but perhaps the Piratas are representing Super X?

CMLL (FRI) 08/07 Arena Mexico
1) As Jr. & Trueno vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Angel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skandalo
3) Metro, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Vangelis
4) Sagrado vs Mephisto [lightning]
5) Black Warrior, Blue Panther, Toscano vs Shigeo Okumura, Tetsuya Naito, Yujiro
6) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Very strange semimain – is this another Mexico vs Japan thing? (Rescheduled Dragonmania show is on 08/22, FWIW.) Or is a turn coming? Warrior and Panther were defintely not allies last anyone checked.

Mistico’s on a 7 week winning streak on Fridays and going for 8 in the main event. He hasn’t lost since the Universal Tournament semifinal versus UG.

CMLL (SUN) 08/09 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II vs Camorra & Inquisidor
2) Bracito de Oro, Tzuki, Ultimo Dragoncito vs Atomo, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Universo 2000
3) Estrella Magica, Lluvia, Marcela vs La Seductora, Princesa Sujei, Yezca
4) Fabian el Gitano, Flash, Valiente vs Ephesto, Heavy Metal, Sangre Azteca
5) Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, Volador Jr. vs Hijo del Lizmark, Naito, Ultimo Guerrero

Minis match is odd. They’ve got a side with a rudo, a tecnico, and a guy who hasn’t been around in 14 months. (Atomo, who you may remember from such roles as “Mini Maximo” and “Evil Monkey Mascot”.) I dunno. Valiente continues to check Snagre into the semimain.

CMLL (SUN) 08/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Meteoro & Nube Roja vs Ebola & Skaxy
2) Hierro & Novato vs Acertijo & Milenio
3) Mictlan, Rogue, Stuka Jr. vs Hooligan, Loco Max, Polvora
4) Blue Panther, La Mascara, La Sombra vs Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

One more match to be added. Looks like they’re having Rogue/Rouge work outside of Mexico City for the moment.

IWRG (SUN) 08/09 Arena Naucalpan
1) Guizmo vs Comando del Diablo
2) Goleador & Jack vs Carta Brava Jr. & Hijo del Signo
3) Bushi, Freelance, Zatura vs Arlequin Amarillo, Arlequin Rojo, Arlequin Verde
4) Ricky Cruz & Scorpio Jr. vs Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.

A match to be added here too. Last two Rey del Ring winners against teh tag champs.

Infierno en el Ring results, Xalapa

CMLL (FRI) 07/31 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Box Y Lucha, Ovaciones, Cesar]
1) Euforia, Skandalo, VirusFlash, Metalico, Stuka Jr.
2) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, SagradoAverno, Ephesto, Mephisto
3) La Sombra, Mistico, Volador Jr.Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Ultimo Guerrero
4) NaitoToscanoHector GarzaNegro CasasBlack WarriorTerribleTexano Jr.ShockerYujiroShigeo OkumuraBlue PantherMaximoRay Mendoza Jr.Heavy MetalMictlan [cage, hair]

Match was announced as a ten minute time limit before escape, but it turned out to be more like 5.  Order of escape: Metal, Panther, Okumura, Terrible, Maximo, Shocker, Texano Jr., Ray Mendoza, Negro Casas, Hector Garza (who may or may not have betrayed Toscano by leaving him behind with 3 rudos), Black Warrior and Yujiro. Naito won with a bridging suplex (thought it was a Tiger suplex last night, Ovaciones shows a German suplex but that might have been from earlier in the match, Cesar says Dragon, most everyone else says olympic bridging because the armlocks aren’t distingushed.)

This is Toscano’s second hair loss in about 14 months, and Naito’s first apuesta win.

In the semimain, Mistico won the first, Mistico had the second won but UG threw off his mask while in La Mistica to draw the DQ, and Mistico tossed his own mask in the third fall.

ESTO mentions the press had issues getting accredited to cover the show for some reason.  At least part of the show did air on the new Televisa Deportes network, and the explanation I heard is Televisa came to CMLL just yesterday to ask them to show the event, because there’s still not much programming on the TDN channel. CMLL still could’ve mentioned the airing on their website as soon as they knew, but they didn’t either care or didn’t want to risk one person not coming because they could watch it on TV.

Cesar says the attendance was 14-15,000, a big success for CMLL.

Two theories coming out of the main event finish
– Naito won big because they’re planning on No Limit losing before they leave
– Naito won big in CMLL becuase Mistico’s about to win big in NJPW

I think Naito over Toscano is a good idea. It’s not a very exciting or interesting idea, but it’s better than Toscano winning a big match in 2009, and that’s where I thought they were headed down the stretch last night.

Toscano losing his hair twice in two years makes it hard to take him seriously as a semimian level guy, but perhaps CMLL booking him that way means they don’t see it either, and there are changes coming.

Today’s TV show is said to be 50 minutes.

CMLL (WED) 07/29 Arena Xalapa
1) Mascarita Dorada & Shockercito ?? Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela ?? Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Shocker, Toscano, Volador Jr.
4) Mistico b Negro Casas [super libre]

CMLL (WED) 07/29 Arena Xalapa [E-Consulta]
1) Mascarita Dorada & Shockercito ?? Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Warrior
2) Lady Apache, Lluvia, Marcela ?? Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
3) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Shocker, Toscano, Volador Jr.
4) Mistico b Negro Casas [super libre]

Mistico escaped a Negro casita and got one of his own. Atlantis snuck in a foul on Volador Jr. Mascarita Dorada was talking about an upcoming minis cage match. ??? It sounds like the lead local referee here was supposed to retire after this show, but decided to keep going. (He’s a rudo.)

LLF (FRI) 07/31 Arena Femenil de Monterrey [Estralla del Ring]
1) Lady Puma DDQ Hija de Karonte [LLF Femenil, Monterrey WOMEN]

Angelica and Perla Negra ran in and attacked both women for the double disqulifaction. Why does this make the main page? Somehow, LLF ruled that this decision meant that Lady Puma lost the LLF title she held but won the Monterrey title, while Karonte lost the Monterrey title but won the LLF title. I rate that 85% insane.

Box Y Lucha has a big interview with Electroshock, about his entire career. Definitely worth reading. Electroshock talks about thinking about retiring when CMLL told him they had nothing for Ultimatum, but visiting the AAA office with his friend Black Pentagon, and Pena offering him a job, then coming up with the Electroshock gimmick.

CMLL (TUE) 08/04 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Astaroth & Thunder Boy vs Fraile de la Muerte & Relampago Azul
2) Palacio Negro & Saturno vs Angel del Mal & Infierno
3) Casanova & Gallo vs Leon Blanco & Satanico
4) Mictlan & Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto & Misterioso II
5) Hector Garza & Maximo vs Mr. Niebla & Negro Casas

Leon Blanco is officially on the rudo side.

More lineups if/when they show up.

CMLL 52MX GdR #189 (07/04)

taped 06/28, aired 07/04

Flash (c), Metalico, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus (c) (part 2) – Really good Cometa showcase in CMLL, with his great tornillo being the big thing that separates him from the other high flyers. Does he have the best tornillo right now?

Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Valiente vs Heavy Metal, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca (part 2) – Heavy Metal thinks Mictlan is a bad wrestler, yet another thing we have in common. Mictlan used to be non-horrible a year ago, right? He’s gotten worse, he wasn’t this bad all along, right? Off to go add figure four to Misterioso’s move list…
