Lucha Libre Expo Notes (day 2, and part of day 3), other links

Expo notes. Again, check out Alan’s posts: here, here, and here, with pictures here. It doesn’t get bigger than Tony!

– SuperLuchas notes there was a Perros del Mal champion belt on display, and wonders who would win. That’s one of those “if a tree fell in a forest, would it make a sound” questions.

– PL notes Dinastia, who won the mask match on the DTU show, is the nephew of Super Crazy (who’s off in AJPW, winning his first round match in their junior tourny.) Which actually explains everything. Aero Boy is the DTU champ, beating Shiima Xion.

Scattered results:

indy (SAT) 07/25 Centro Banamex, DF [SuperLuchas]
4) Juventud Guerrera & Zumbido b Fuerza Guerrera Histeria & Scorpio Jr.
5) Mascara Ano 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Universo 2000 DQ Dr. Wagner Jr., Intocable, Olimpico

Wagner’s mask got pulled, and the Dinamtias continued to beat him up to set up a match that won’t happen because Wagner’s done with all his flu rescheduled bookings and working only with AAA, right? Riiiiight.

CMLL (SAT) 07/25 Centro Banamex, DF [Estrellas del Ring
1) Arkangel de la Muerte & Skandalo b Fabian el Gitano & Leono
2) Dark Angel & Marcela b Amapola & Princesa Sujei
3) La Sombra, Maximo, Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Virus
4) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Volador Jr.
5) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker b Atlantis, Terrible, Ultimo Guerrero

Sounds like all clean finishes. As noted in the comments, this did air on Cadena3, minus the opener.

PERROS (SUN) 07/26 Centro Banamex, DF [Estrella del Ring]
1) Konami & Super Nova b Pesadilla & X-Fly
2) Mr. Aguilita & Pequeño Halloween b Celestial & Talisman
3) Mr. Aguila, Olimpico, Scorpio Jr. b Head Hunter I, Histeria, Psicosis
4) Brazo de Plata, El Alebrije, LA Park DQ Damian 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween

Main event of the Perros show was LA Park over Perro Aguayo Jr. by DQ. Perro pulled his mask. After, they did a quickie Park vs Halloween/Damian with mask and hair on the line, Park got the quick pin, and the Perros ran off into the night. No surprising Cibernetico didn’t end up in the main event.

Konami did a dive off the light standard in the opener.

Other Stuff…

Milenio has a big article on Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. Apolo Dantes is still in charge here, so probably not that new.

Ovaciones has an interview with Alebrije, who doesn’t say anything you haven’t heard already. He doesn’t want to talk bad about anyone, he’s part of Super X, and it doesn’t appear as those he’s changing his name or look. For AAA’s talk about prohibiting people from using names they got in AAA, they don’t seem to have taken any action.  Alebrije talks about challenging for the IWRG or WWA Heavyweight Titles, which means he’s the person who remembers they exist.

Critica Digital has an interview with the current lead of 100% Lucha in Argentina.

Cesar says Crazy Star is out of action due to injury. Is this injury #2? There’s also a post about Goddess looking for another chance.

SuperLuchas #324 has Hijo del Fantamsa, Texano Jr., and the Sandman on the cover.

LuchaWorld has Robert on AAA 05/30/08 and CMLL 05/31/08 as well as KrisZ’s news update from Saturday

Segunda Caida watches Rey del Ring, with a link to the YouTube for it.

  1. Too many Star’s I think.

Star Fire is the one who got hurt in her debut.

Crazy Star was the one who hurt Marcela in that same match.

Now Cesar is saying Crazy Star isn’t out with an injury, she just has health problems. Since he doesn’t go into specifics I’m guessing it’s female issues. Maybe she’s pulling a Goddess. *ahem*

I would be quite happy if CMLL would just cut down on new women and start running tag matches with them instead of trios.
