2) Chico Che & Turbo b Hermano Muerte I & Hermano Muerte II
3) Solar I & Super Astro DRAW el Signo & Negro Navarro
4) Mr. Aguila & Ultraman Jr. DQ Cien Caras Jr. & Hijo del Signo
5) Histeria & Psicosis b Juventud Guerrera & Super Crazy

Juvi and Super Crazy split after the match, Crazy beating up Juvi until Mr. Aguila made the save. Bizarros no-showed to make the AAA taping instead.

LuchandoLibre says Super Crazy says he’s working for TNA on August 22th, a special attraction on a Texas house show.

Record has two interviews with Juvi and Fuerza Guerrera about the GWPC Super X show. It’s definitely strange how everyone’s pretending like this is a new name, when Juvi ran with the same name before and it didn’t go anywhere. Anyway, Juvi’s interview actually gives a start date and location: August 15, in Salon Elite. Wrestlers mentioned in the new group: Veneno, Histeria, Alebrije, Cuije, Zumbid, Scorpio, Psicosis II, Bestia Verde, Ricky Cruz, Oculto, Tenebroso. Juvi says all wrestlers in his group will be free to do what they want (sounds about right) and he’s considering having all the matches a three way.

The interview with Fuerza hypes the new Bravos (Fuerza, Juvi, Veneno), but also says Super X is all about dignifying wrestling. That’s one to file away for later. Fuerza is looking at doing Super X vs IWRG & Perros del Mal matches, and he’d like to do shows with CMLL as well. It’s good to want things.

Ovaciones covers CMLL on lottery tickets. CMLL wrestlers featured: Mistico, Atlantis, Blue Panther, and Dos Caras Jr – oops!

DJ Spectro says Rey Misterio Sr. had an emergency operation after falling in house.

(KrisZ’s news update and Robert on 04/30 Aguascalientes and CMLL GDL 03/23 and 03/30/08.

This is a fan appreciation show, but they’re holding off the title match for next week. Seeing as they’re doing the same thing on Sunday, and they’re doing the same thing Tuesday in Guadalajara, this is a promotion-wise change of doing business. Since they day they started to do these fan appreciation shows with big matches, it’s been obvious doing the big matches on those shows didn’t make much sense from a money-making perspective, and they’re changing it this time around.

We never really heard why they were doing it the old way, so I don’t suppose we’ll hear why they stopped. My best guess is they figured they could hook people on the product if they just got them in the building for their big matches, but that required making those big matches really available. In other places, that’d mean putting those matches on free TV (or even the internet), but CMLL is not other places. Regardless of how we got to this point, the way of telling if it worked will be to see how they draw on the 14th for the CMLL Trios title match.

CMLL (FRI) 07/10 Arena Mexico
1) Metalico & Tigre Blanco vs Caligula & Messala
2) Angel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Astro Boy vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Skandalo

4) La Mascara vs Ephesto [lightning]
5) Hector Garza, Sagrado, Toscano vs Black Warrior, Naito, Yujiro
6) Mistico, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Ultimo Guerrero

The story is, La Mascara was so impressive Friday against Felino, they decided to give him another lightning match this week. CMLL hypes up the Mistico/Averno feud from this past Friday, so they’re not fighting. Okumura/Maximo continues.

4) La Mascara, La Sombra, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Heavy Metal, Shigeo Okumura
5) Hector Garza, Shocker, Toscano vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Ultimo Guerrero

They appear to be a week away from Shocker/Ultimo here.
