Mascara got Felino with a casita. After that match, Pierroth’s daughter, el Faraon, Mascara Ano 2000, Sangre Chicana and Lizmark Sr. showed up to promote the Luchas 2000 show on Saturday.

Okumura fouled Maximo. I’ve seen Okumura being credited with and the tecnicos being credited with a DQ win. Dunno.

Top two matches were both clean finishes. Mistico got Averno, and Ovaciones mentions Mistico wants a title match.

Order of escape was Brazo de Oro, Dos Caras Sr., Ringo Mendoza, Universo 2000, and V4 took Hombre de Bala’s hair.

Apolo Dantes talked to MT about being removed as head of Arena Coliseo Guadalajara. The building’s accountant is in charge at the moment. Apolo hopes his work will be better remembered down the road and is looking to get into business outside of wrestling.

Atlantis visited a school.

Box Y Lucha has an interview with Dos Caras Jr.’s mom, Extreme Tiger talking about his career, a column noting there’s probably a lot of titles in Mexico, Villano III discussing the dangers of tourist visas, and has a video interview with Hiroka. The most interesting article is with El Faraon, who reveals Hijo del Faraon was not actually related to him (his actual son is into soccer, he refers to this one as his god son), so they decided to have no longer wrestle under that name.

Vanguardia has a interview with Salitllo wrestler El Guardian.

Lineups when they turn up.

  1. Don’t tell me this is going to be one of those weeks where CMLL TV breaks the new lineups before cmll.com…

Only interested in seeing the main from last night plus the segunda on FSE next week even though Cesar says Azteca looked bad. Cesar mentions that Maximo/Okumura are feuding so there’s probably a hair match on the horizon which seems like the weakest Friday semi-main since Mictlan vs Dragon Rojo.

I feel bad for Apolo who has taken a ton of shit in just one day since being bumped as booker but it’s not like it is undeserved. The wrestling in the building has gone to shit as you can tell through any TV episode in 2008. It may have even been one of the reasons they lost their local TV slot in January. The feuds have been uninteresting and the locals show no signs of being near CMLL-ready except the women and that isn’t for their talent. Hopefully whoever gets the book can freshen things up and stop using EL GALLO as the local star.

Not too surprising about Faraon revealing it isn’t his kid. That’s the second time he’s tried something like that and I’m sure there will be another time to come. Maybe he can introduce two at once and take over the business Pierroth started.

  2. CMLL airing top 3. Wonder if the Maximo/Okumura hair feud goes to 52MX?

Also great they skipped a supposedly excellent lightning match last week and are airing one that got no special mention whatsoever.

  3. Wow… tercera is airing too. 4 match show which should say a lot about match length.

  4. Since the match only goes two falls and the rudos won the first, I think it’s safe to say rudos in two falls via Okumura foul.

  5. *LMAO* Metro’s mask got yanked off by accident.

    1. Mictlan stripping. (how is Daniel not a CMLL fan?)
    2. Maximo kissing everyone.
    3. Rules enforced only when needed for a storyline.

    La seria y estable indeed!

  6. Tuesday C3:

Garza/Fantasma/Mascara vs Averno/Texano/Terrible for trios titles

    Sagrado/Metro/Stuka Jr. vs Azteca/Dragon Rojo/Misterioso

It was like bonus Momentos today b/c they showed random clips before the commercial and then showed different stuff in the actual clips. The fans have smartened up – nobody was left for Dragoncito to land on!

  7. @Alan: I should take back one thing – no mention of the trios titles at all on the TV show. I’m just assuming that part.

Hopefully lineups go up soon or at worse SuperLuchas should be out by tonight.

  8. You would think Faraon’s fake kid would try to change some spots up to differentiate himself in the new gimmick but it’s like watching him debut all over again as Faraon. Same exact spots in the same exact order. Wouldn’t be surprised if he used the same exact finisher in the third fall.

  9. @Alan: CMLL.com updated their news section so the lineups should be on their way. They confirm there is no title match for this Tuesday, just a revenge match. That’s kinda strange. Using the show with lesser priced tickets to promote a title match on a regular priced show? *blinks* Someone in CMLL took Business 101?

  10. In news probably only Keith and I will care about, Sicodelico debuted on FCW TV tonight losing to Mr. Tarver. The guy is bigger than I thought he was. Dusty going on a Rant about his mask and how it’s an advantage because it makes the opponent dizzy was funny.

  11. @Rob: I’m still seeing the old lineups.

Very odd of CMLL to book things this way. It sucks that the one time I would prefer for them to keep booking illogically they would mix it up.

  12. @Alan: You should just have to refresh the lineup page for it to show up. Sadly there isn’t much (in my opinion) else to the Tuesday show except the top two unless you plan on turning your niece into a Vangelis mark.

  13. @Rob: OK, embarrassed I didn’t try that.

This is probably the weakest fan day card since they started packing the lineups in December. I am happy my niece will get to see a women’s match in Mexico (and it could be a decent one). I would normally be excited about the Infernals (even if I did have to explain Vangelis to her), but it is hard to be excited about any match with that tecnico team. Oh well, top two should be good.

  14. Puebla TV has been bizarre tonight. Segunda aired first, followed by the locals. Then we jump straight to the tag title match? So either this is going to be a very long third fall, a very short show, or a very odd ordering of the matches. Maybe they will air Mistico in the main slot? I’m certain that my dream of them pushing Hooligan up.

  15. They could be airing the Mistico match last since the revenge match is set for tomorrow and the job of the TV show should be to hype the next card.

No Mascara Dorada.:( He had a good showing on 52MX though.

  16. @Rob: Now you’re just going a little crazy suggesting that CMLL TV and booking are suddenly all going to start behaving logically in one week.

  17. @Alan: Don’t worry, I’m sure next Saturday they’ll skip the Maximo/Okumura hair setup match, turn Negro Casas tecnico to be Mistico’s sidekick again and skip the Puebla main event from tomorrow. All will be right with the world.

Without spoiling – tag title match good or bad in your opinion?

  18. @Rob: I’ll confess I got distracted by my computer for much of the show. I’ll have to watch the title match again, but my impression from what I saw was that it was good, probably not great.

  19. Wow, if the recent update to the Wiki is legit then I predicted something else right! I called Segura dropping the Aeroman gimmick in IWRG just to lose his hair and it seems to be the case.

It’s only that damn CMLL Arena Mexico booking I can’t figure out!
