Lucha Libre Expo lineups

There’s cards up for the rescheduled shows on their website, but some of them look a bit iffy.

MD (FRI) 07/24 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Damian el Inmortal, Destroyer, Emperador, Flecha, Fobia vs Bengala, Estruendo, Guerrero Aguila, La Maravilla, Principe
2) Bronce, Oro, Plata vs Aguila Venesolana, Impla, Memo Arenas
3) Matematico, Solar I, Super Astro vs Black Terry, Negro Navarro, Shu el Guerrero
4) Dos Caras Sr., El Fantasma, Mil Mascaras vs Kahoz, Mano Negra, Rambo

No idea who’s playing the Metalicos here.

el Pancracio (FRI) 07/24 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Pinocho 3000 vs Alarido Noctunro, El Mimo, Kumo, Golden Bull, Rambo Jr., Fenix, Kilvan, Sobredosis, Urko, Jordy Boy, Terror Negro, Skullman, Polaris, Distubio, Maldito Jr., Espiral Negro, Angelus, Loock Man, Chac-Mol [torneo el pancracio]
2) Rocky Santana, Super Astro, Super Muneco, Super Pinocho vs Coco Rojo, Coco Verde, Cocolores, Rambo
3) Solar I vs Negro Navarro

Negro & Solar work twice in one day! They are tough.

IWRG (FRI) 07/24 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Eragon & Latin Brother vs Carta Brava & Nemesis IWRG
2) Piratita Morgan vs Mascarita Aerea
3) Freelance, Trauma I, Trauma II vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) El Hijo del Solitario, Fuerza Guerrera, Scorpio Jr., Zatura vs Andy Barrow, El Hijo de Pierroth, Head Hunter I, Veneno
5) Elvis Porky, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Tinieblas Jr. vs Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.

This looks like the card from May. Super Porky, Rayo, even the Dinamitas haven’t been around lately.

indy (SAT) 07/25 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Mini Cibernetico & Mini Scorpio vs Mini Pegasso & Mini Zumbido
2) Esther Moreno & Flor Metalica vs La Chola & Rossy Moreno
3) Batman & Robin vs Hijo de Marcus & Marcus Jr.
4) Juventud Guerrera & Zumbido vs Fuerza Guerrera & Scorpio Jr.
5) Mascara Ano 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Universo 2000 vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Intocable, Olimpico

This was previously a Wagnermania show, but now it’s just “Guerra de Indepedentes.” Whatever you want to call it, it’s a show Wagner would’ve agreed to work before signing the AAA deal and so one AAA’s already agreed to let him work.

CMLL (SAT) 07/25 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Fabian el Gitano & Leono vs Arkangel de la Muerte & Skandalo
2) Dark Angel & Marcela vs Amapola & Princesa Sujei
3) Maximo, Sagrado, Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Virus
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero

A usual lineup.

DTU (SAT) 07/25 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Amo de la Noche & Dement Xtreme vs Aguila Misteriosa & Muerte Bucanero
2) Angel Extremo vs Dark Finder, Disturbio
3) Drastick vs Dinastia, Black Master, Flamita, Masico, Hormiga
4) Black Fire & Dance Boy vs Paranoiko & Toxico DF and Money Pack & Talaxys
5) Shiima Xion vs Ragade
6) ? vs Kaientai, Super Mega, Kemp Dragon
7) ? & Crazy Boy vs Jimmy Jacobs & Violento Jack

Chris Hero was in the main event when this was originally announced, so at least this one looks updated. Main event is still listed as an international fight, so some indy guy is going to be brought in. I guess Xion will be in for a month, or at least back for this one.

The graphic for this line up says Saturday, though the programming listing says Sunday (with CMLL bodybuilding and fashion shows instead of a third card on Saturday.)

AAA TV (SUN) 07/26 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Super Fly vs Rio Bravo, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana II
2) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario vs Jack Evans & Teddy Hart
3) ? & Vampiro vs Chessman & Extreme Tiger
4) Alex Koslov, Rocky Romero, X-Pac vs Kenzo Suzuki, Silver King, Zorro
5) ?, Charly Manson, Mesias vs Electro Shock, Konnan, Ozz

This is the original lineup, un-updated. (They’ve even got “Nicole” accompanying HF2.) It’s not what’ll occur, for sure. Presumbably, Xion was in the tercera and Cibernetico was in the main event, not that it matters at the moment.

PERROS (SUN) 07/26 Centro Banamex, DF
1) Konami & Super Nova vs Mosco & Pesadilla
2) Celestial & Talisman vs Mr. Aguilita & Pequeño Halloween
3) Brazo de Plata & Juventud Guerrera vs Head Hunter I & Olimpico
4) Cibernetico, Mr. Aguila, Super Crazy vs Damian 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween

Again, old lineup. Will Cibernetico still end up working this show? I doubt it, but he’ll surely end up working the AAA show. These two shows will take place back to back, so that’ll cause some drama.

  1. Digging around for updated cards since this is now just three days off. IWRG updates their top two matches here http://iwrg.thegladiatores.com/?page_id=10 . Basically Ricky Cruz is in for Porky, and the semimain has been changed from Mexico vs the world to IWRG (Navarro/Angelico/Megatronic) vs Super X (Guerreras/Veneno). So, Juvi is either wrestling all three days or there is more card shuffling to come. IWRG also promises a strap match and two more luchas.

DTU is supposedly giving their final card tonight on Tercera Caida I think.

  2. Lineup change that noone other than I will care about. OK, I’m not sure I even care since I’ve never heard of any of these guys moving in or out of the tourney.

El Panceo lineup is here http://www.elpancracio.com.mx/1826833/1831133.html .

Update to the tourney. Urko, Jordy Boy, Distubio, and Espiral Negro are out. Hermano Muerte Jr., X-Devil, and Zigfried are in. Please let Zigfried be as awesome as I am hoping. The page also has the explanation of how they plan on running a 19 person tournament, but I’m pretty sure something got lost in Google Translation for me. I’m not sure if I want to know what “tap from behind” or “forcibly removed with a key” mean in terms of a lucha match. They also promise one more lucha.

  3. @Alan: Oh, this is great:

it’s over the top eliminations until 8 are out
the next 6 eliminations are by pinfall only
the next 4 eliminations must be by submission hold
and whoever’s left is the winner!

    How needlessly complex!

I’m tempted to just not bother to update the Expo lineups at all, figuring I’ll have to make the changes again once they results show up.

  4. @thecubsfan: DTU has to top that confusion now!

Whenever I see confusing match stipulations it reminds me of being around Johnny Legend and how awesomely confusing he can make a match and then looking around at everyone in the room having these confused looks and some trying to figure out exactly what the match is suppose to be. My favorite was the brainstorming in coming up with the under-the-bottom rope Battle Royal.

  5. @Alfredo: DTU will have two full days after seeing the match to come up with something even more complex.

I’m currently happy with DTU though since they posted a map of the layout for the Expo on their website. This will both help me find my way around and entertain me with questions like “Who decided it was a good idea to put DTU’s booth next to the Area Infantil?”

  6. Needlessly complex tournaments, huh? Go search LuchaWiki for: Distrito Federal Welterweight Tournament, 2005

~21 wrestlers! ~multiple first round byes! ~super bye right to the finals!

As if they couldn’t find 11 random indy guys to work the show? Or eliminate 5 guys from the tournament?

Maybe it’s just the fact I’ve been watching the 2008 9 Ball U.S. Open for the past few weeks but now I’m dying to see CMLL (or any fed really) bust out the Copa Victoria (circa 1998) style tournament where there is a winners bracket and a losers bracket. That’s really how they should have done the Universal Title tournament to be quite honest.

Wow, I just noticed Cubs didn’t even put up brackets or any info on the Copa Victoria in the LuchaWiki. That seems right up your alley with all the complications!

  7. Pretty sure from the promo on 3ra Caida that Sugi San is in as Crazy Boys partner for DTU. Semimain seems to have become Radge vs Shima Xion vs Aeroboy.

  8. @Alan: I want to make a joke about Shiima Xion being demoted on a DTU show but it’s too easy. There’s no real challenge.

  9. The CMLL Hi5 page has the full CMLL lineup for the Expo and says C3 will be airing it ?live? this Sunday at 2 (3EST?).

I think it’s awesome that every promotion tries to send their best matches in order to come off looking great and CMLL opens with…

Leono and Fabian against Arkangel and Skandalo.

Rey Bucanero is also listed as working the main event so there are still people in the promotion who have yet to realize he is injured.

  10. I guess Shiima Xion’s dreams of becoming the next Teddy/Jack have been crushed, since AAA isn’t going to keep using him. Should I feel bad?

  11. @Rob: This card has been up for a while on the expo page, and I think it was probably the May lineup. Or at least I hope that is the case. CMLL’s show is on Saturday, so C3 might be airing it on Sunday. Hopefully CMLL sends a decent show if they are planning on it airing.

  12. @Alan: I’m losing faith in the prospect of CMLL being able to judge what a decent show is based on the July 31st abortion.

  13. Updated cards for Perros and CMLL.

Perros Main-Non Perros team is now LA Park Super Porky, Alebrije con Cuijesemi.
Semimain is now Psicosis, Histeria, and Head Hunter vs Mr. Aguila, Olimpico, and Scorpio.
Cosmico is in for Talismanin the minis match.

CMLL-Was kind of hoping the CMLL card would be scrapped. But, it looks like someone might really have not caught on to the fact that Rey was injured. Terrible is in for Rey. Sagrado and La Sombra look like they have switched places in their matches. Leono and Fabian are still in the opener.
