I am shocked…to find out Mesias and Billy drink together. That explains why Billy Boy looks like he’s wearing Mesias hand me downs. Also, the big lesson learned from Abismo’s death is to use the buddy system.

Also, poor Cibernetico, who’s picture is somehow on that page.

I’m sure Billy and Mesias and Hijo de Tirantes have their side of the story and I am excited to hear it!

(Thanks to Rob for pointing this out. Thanks to Rob for pointing this out. Looks like DJ Spectro had it too.)

Bonus: here’s how the victim ended up. Let the man have his car to himself next time!

  1. I guess I should point out here that I doubt anything comes of it. It’s just amusing when these things make it as far as the press.

  2. Well, well, well everybody favorite innocent Billy Boy is not so innocent afterall.

  3. @USAUSA1: Did anyone call him innocent? Underpushed? Yes. Underappreciated? Yes. Innocent? Find me a post where someone said he was innocent.

Mesias on the other hand is heading down a great road with a possible cocaine addiction and an obviously out of control steroid problem. But he had a good match with Wagner so I guess we’ll ignore his health concerns and just wait till he drops dead at 37.

  4. Grown men make their own decisions and I never feel sorry for something they do to themselves. Look at Pillman,Eddie,Chris, etc. they put themselves into situations and when they get sick or die no sympathy.

  5. @USAUSA1: You’re forgetting those they take with them or leave behind and the promoters/”friends”/coworkers who at the very least ignore the warning signs. There is no excuse for any promotion enabling this kind of behavior.

  6. So is this going to cause Billy to Job even more I wonder? Probably. He’s going to job to May Flowers in Monterrey next week probably.

  7. I wonder how much bribe a wrestling promotion has to pay if they want that a Puerto Rican who is known to police as a drug addict and as someone who beats other guys up keeps getting his work permissions.

  8. @USAUSA1: “Grown men make their own decisions and I never feel sorry for something they do to themselves.”

Themselves AND others you mean, right? I mean it was you who got banned from the DVDVR forum for this gem:

(re: what Hogan should do to shut his wife up)

‘Just kill da bitch or have someone beat the shit out of her.’

@Alan: Let’s also not forget the person with more power than anyone not named Roldan in the company is a cone-headed individual that put himself all over CNN after Chris Benoit’s death so he could discuss cleaning up the business and how wrestlers need to watch out for each other.

  9. Stay Classy USAUSA1

And seeing that picture, I have images of Tirantes attacking the guy with his suspenders. And if anyone gets in trouble over this, it will probably be Billy Boy. No way does Banderas get deported.

  10. Let’s all welcome USAUSA1 to the “all comments go to moderation and must entertain me” list. HOORAY. Daniel made out, can he?

  11. I’m confused as to why Hijo De Tirantes translates into son of braces instead of son of suspenders like it used to when I translated Ovaciones articles with babelfish.

  12. @thecubsfan: Hmmm, I want to believe that “AAA don’t care about these guys as long as they perform they’re fine.” but since it is being reported on this twitter feed I suddenly doubt it.

AAA clearly doesn’t care about any of these guys and it will take many more deaths (and eventual public outrage) before they do anything. I wish someone had cared enough to help Benoit, Eddie, Pillman, Abismo, and all of the others before it was too late.

  13. I’ll suppliment Rob’s statement about Konnan being all over CNN talking about how there’s a drug problem in wrestling. He accused WWE’s policy of being “lip service” and how he’s actually cleaning up AAA. I guesse Konnan’s policy is just lip service also.

Konnan would also contradict himself while in the media. First he would speak out against the drug culture of wrestling and then he would justify it by saying that with a wrester’s life, drugs are the only way to survive in the business. I guess that was his excuse.

  14. This reminds me of this guy I know who was in a bar fight and had to tell the arresting officers he was a taco cook so he wouldn’t end up in the press.

Is there a to be learned? Yes there is – wear a mask!

  15. @Rob: Downsizing? Now they’ll use 9 Square meters rings?

It’s in the yellow news handbook:

Always include one (or several) of these in the report:
    A pregnant woman was injured.
    A baby nearly died.
    Cocaine was involved.

Cocaine is so 80s, meth is the in thing now, but the yellow news reporters won’t get a clue.

Beating a “groupie” is pretty bad though, but Mesias is US citizen, so he’s un-deportable… although Billy Boy taking the downfall would be much worse as he’s way more important. Still, it’s pretty likely nothing will come out of this.

  16. @thecubsfan: @Rob: Ok this is off topic but I am brain farting on this. What is the name of the style of tag team tournament that CMLL likes to have where the teams start with a battle royal to decide the match ups?

  17. @Jake: Ruleta Rusa or Russian Roulette if you prefer. Fantastic concept if CMLL would ever actually put some thought into the teams and matches that are formed.

  18. @Rob: Thanks Rob! I couldn’t have remembered that if my life depended on it. Here is another thing I’m forgetting…. How many teams? 8?
