Sunday Guadalajara, Coliseo, EAW

Waiting for AAA results, but the quick version is Cien Caras returned to AAA to be AAA ref for the cage match, balancing out Hijo de Tirantes. No one will see this episode before TripleMania, but they must’ve given some people a heads up; besides Box Y Lucha, Ovaciones had a story about it and there’s no way they would’ve covered a Pachuca show all on their own, or have gotten this news in the paper the next night, unless there was a tipoff.

CMLL (SUN) 06/07 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, MT]
1) Puma King & Tiger KidMolotov & Trueno
2) Lady Apache, Sahori, ZeuxisLa Nazi, Magnifica, Princesa Blanca
3) Mascara Dorada, Stuka Jr., ValienteEuforia, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr., Ultimo GuerreroBlue Panther, Shocker, Volador Jr.
5) MisticoFelino

Mistico beat Felino clean. No one talks of any challenges after the match.

Lady Apache replaced Marcela and Princesa Blanca replaced Hiroka, and I’m not sure why they weren’t on this show originally since they’re feuding and all.

CMLL (SUN) 06/07 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, Ovaciones]
1) Apocalipsis & SkandaloPrincipe Valiente & Sensei
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco MaxGuerrero Maya Jr., Hijo de Ultraman, Starman
3) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño OlímpicoPequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
4) Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Misterioso IIMaximo, Mictlan, Sagrado
5) Black Warrior, Naito, YujiroHector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara

Garza tried to sneak attack No Limit, but No Limit figured it was coming and sneaked back behind him. Ovaciones says Fantamsa and the rest of the crew won’t be back in Mexico until the 17th, so there goes the idea of doing the trios title match here next week. Still surprised they won’t  be doing anything special, but there was no direction here except for that trios title match.

Sagrado got strechered out of his match. The tecnicos in the second match lost in straight falls, and I’m still not sure if this is a new Ultraman. (I think – yes?) Skandalo filled in for Ramstein, who seems to miss a lot of shows for a guy who’s not on a lot of shows. Minis match was said to be really good.

EAW (SAT) 06/06 El Pinal, Teziutlan [LuchandoLibre]
1) Dinastia, Penumbra, Ragde b Black Fire, Drastik Boy, Pesdailla
2) Neursois, Startron, Toro b Cometa de Fuego, Dinamita Kid, Silver Dragon

4) Ericka del Rico & John Scott b Derrick Nikerson & Girl Dynamite
5) Histeria & Psicosis II b Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido
6) El Alebrije, Intocable, La Park b Monsther, Pirata Morgan, Super Crazy

Scorpio turned on Zumbido to set up a feud. No date announced for the next show.

Box Y Lucha #2925 is a big preview of TripleMania. Magazine includes Mistico’s interview, or a new one. The new edition of Box Y Lucha TV is also up.

CMLL (MON) 06/08 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & SWAT vs Fuerza Chicana & Policeman
2) Astro Boy, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo de Ultraman vs Puma King, René Guajardo Jr., Tiger Kid
3) Bracito de Oro, Electrico, Shockercito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
4) La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Misterioso seems to be picking up all of Rey Buc’s bookings.

  1. My understanding is the EAW’s next show is supposed to be in Mexico City sometime next month. But that is the same line I was told right after Zacatecas.

  2. Misterioso seems to be the supersub for rudos who can’t work shows but are part of a group with only three wrestlers in it that are being paired together for the show. Maybe this should have become his new gimmick instead of sticking him in Hijos del Averno.

  3. @Alan: No Sir I am not. No more Mexico for me unless it pays well and the money has pictures of old white men on it.

Interesting Misterioso 2 note that I thought I’d say for no other reason then to say it. He once worked as Super Arana at the Anahiem Indoor Marketplace.

  4. Oops for some reason I thought you meant am I. My bad….. I have NO IDEA what they are doing.

  5. Alright… so I’m guessing the mini’s get cut from Puebla next week. Although two weeks in a row of Felino’s kids-maybe kids-not kids-maybe kids-definitely not kids might be too good to be true.

    Let’s check out Misterioso II’s history…

2005: Was a tecnico, became a rudo without an angle actually taking place.

2006: Teamed with Perrito in the Gran Alternativa and was declared an official Perro Del Mal but never teamed with the group.

2007: Nothing of note unless you count the one billion times he teamed with Averno and Mephisto even though he had no alliance with them.

2008: Teamed with the Laguneros; Teamed with the Guerreros de la Atlantida; Joined Los Hijos Del Averno.

2009: Replaced Black Warrior for a few weeks in the Poder Mexica; Continued to team with both Hijos Del Averno members and Guerreros De La Atlantida members… even though the groups dislike each other.

    OH…

2004: Entered the Guapos tournament and was part of the winning trio… making him an official Guapo at one point?

Either he’s very indecisive or by this point everyone in a match-making position has forgotten who he is alligned with.

Speaking of confusing things in CMLL…

    – Anyone see that photo of Amapola from Friday? I dare anyone to say that’s a good look.

    – How have La Nazi and Vangelis not formed some sort of connection yet? Only in CMLL can you have two nazis on the roster who aren’t alligned in any way.

    – Hooligan changed his look AGAIN! He and Skandalo keep switching the #1 spot in the ‘who has the best look in CMLL’ category. Pequeno Damian is catching up with his new bald look.

    – It looks like the same Ultraman Jr. that has worked indy shots for quite some time. But we’d need to see a match to know for sure.

    – I wonder if Marcela’s injury is long-term?

Now I’m gonna go cry b/c the Puebla tercera with Dorada isn’t online yet and instead I’ll have to settle for EAW videos.

  6. @Rob: There’s still hope Puebla will show up. Not sure how quickly these things surface, but I noticed last week there was now a Puebla replay on TVCDeportes on Wednesday at 5:00 in Mexico City.

In other TVCDeportes scheduling news, I turned on the TV at 6:15 today to discover that IWRG had moved back to the 5:30 Monday timeslot. Not sure what this means for the late night Monday slot, or the noon on Tuesday replay I discovered last week.

  7. @Alan: @Calabcd44: I caught the Puebla show and quick thoughts…

    – Opener was decent as usual with the locals. First time seeing Iron. He did some neat stuff but I’d still rather watch Asturiano. The fake-out into a headscissors spot was really neat. Espiritu Maligno is probably the best local rudo in that arena.

    – Los Gatos Negros match was kinda underwhelming although I blame the tecnicos more than anything. I’m not sure if it’s just that CMLL has started bringing in guys who aren’t ready yet or if they’ve always been doing that but thanks to having 5 regular TV shows we’re seeing guys we wouldn’t regularly have been seeing years back in the days of one two hour Saturday show. Guajardo Jr., As Jr. and Principe Valiente Jr. all need a ton of work. Even Felino’s ?kids? are green as hell but were working circles around the new guys. Hopefully they get better opponents next week. I wonder what’s up with this As Jr. charachter. Don’t remember seeing him in any results prior to this appearence. Perhaps he was working under a different name?

    – Tercera was my match of the night. MASCARA DORADA CONTINUES TO BE MY WRESTLER OF THE MOMENT! Whatever they did with him they need to do with every newcomer b/c in just over one month from early February to mid-March he was fixed and is now one of the most exciting guys on the roster. I also thought VAN-(YOU’RE ALL JUST)-GELIS was excellent. Yes, I came up with that on my own.;D Awesome finishes to every fall especially the third which I audibly marked out for. Dorada vs Vangelis for the CMLL SLW Title – BOOK IT!

Any chance there is anyone here who supports a Warriors reunion in CMLL w/ Vangelis as the nazi, Virus as the sailor, Sangre Azteca as the indian and Caligula as the roman? They’d have to come out to Y-M-C-A naturally.

    – Main was okay for what it was. Guerrero seemed pretty motivated and did some fun stuff.

Didn’t look like they drew a good crowd.

  8. @Rob: I enjoyed the segunda, but was probably just happy to see the black cats on tv. Tercera was definitely the match of the night. I think I enjoyed the main more than you, but that was probably because I thought it was significantly better match than the Coliseo match I saw a few weeks ago (kills me to say that since I think Rey Buc is great). Wish they would bother to have Misterioso “kicked out” of the Avernos and join the GdA since he fits better there anyway. But, that would require them to remember that he was in a group to begin with.

  9. Oh, and I just don’t see anything in Vangelis, but will admit that I probably can’t get past the Nazi gimmick. I too have found it odd that they have never bothered doing anything that indicated that he and La Nazi were part of some group.

Hooligan and Skandalo are two of my favorite “discoveries” in CMLL lately. They’ve actually been getting a decent amount of TV time, have a great look. Glad the whole group copied Hooligan’s mohawk mask. Maybe this group is actually the logical fit for Misterioso? Hope they all keep making TV against the fliers since I’ve enjoyed their matches almost as much as anything lately. Even Loco Max is growing on me which I didn’t think was possible for quite a while.

  10. @Rob: I thought the tercera was the best match aswell. Dorada continues to be AWESOME! And after watching this plus some of his recent matches, Vangelis is actually very good. What was up with Rene Guajardo Jr.? For some reason he was beating the shit out of As Jr. after the match had ended. That befuddled at the moment.:)
