– Hooligan and Skandalo sounds good, actually. But Hooligan’s doesn’t figure to get it. I wonder if CMLL’s waiting for Nitro to get back to pull the trigger? Storywise, it’d be greater for a Tuareg team to challenge and lose and have Nitro be the difference maker in attempt #2 (the Infernales got 2 shots, why can’t they.)
I’m giving them too much credit for actually planning these things out. They’re probably still using The Hat to book, but instead of using it to make trios, they’re just throwing things like “women’s title match”, “random vet loses his hair to young guy we have no real plans for”, and “Sangre Azteca defends his title” into the hat to pick the fan appreciation big match.
– Sombra, Volador Jr., Hector Garza © vs Rey Bucanero ©, Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis – with the confetti, the length of the show, and the strangeness of the crowd – more women, lot of people back for the first time – this felt like a Kid’s Day match without the kids. Or maybe just a spot show match when they’ve got another one later that night.
I like your Hooligan/Skandalo idea. That’s who I’d pick but I can’t see Arkangel not getting involved if there is a match. Loco Max will probably be the odd man out since he gets the generic hair loss every few months so he has his high profile match waiting.
You would think they have to get the belts off Flash/Stuka, right? Since they don’t do tecnicos vs tecnicos – a rudo team should get the belt b/c what else is there for guys like Rey Cometa and Pegasso to do otherwise? Or Angel De Oro/Angel De Plata?
I really enjoyed the opener. Cometa/Pegasso are fitting in perfectly and in some cases outshining guys who have been in CMLL much longer and always claimed the AAA guys couldn’t wrestle. Cometa’s gotta start being caught on his dives or his CMLL career will be short.
