So, this past week in the US, the AAA show ran over five minutes. Five minutes almost to the second, I checked. I also noticed the actual show running time was about the same as it always was, with just 25 minutes less of commercials. I guess it’s easier just to let the show run over by a few minutes than to edit that five minutes out of the show or to air over 3 hours, and I would suspect they’ll continue doing it this way whenever they schedule it for a 2h30 slot (as they’ve done this week.) Add 5-10 minutes on to your recordings, or miss the main event. Which is usually an okay thing, so never mind.

AAA-US: Laredo/Super Fly, Alex/Rocky in the cruiserweight tournament, plus Joe/Nicho vs Mesias/Vamp, and more of the usual issues.

LATV/FOX: Not sure how the big Sunday show is going to be split up, but I’m guessing Averno/Metal/Texano vs Fantasma/Valiente/Metro (his debut on this show), plus Panther/Mistico/Shocker vs Dos/Ephesto/Mephsito

(I think this the repeat this week might have not aired on FSE, but I’m completely confused on that with the change in schedule.)

52MX: Which would live this with GdA vs Garza/Sombra/Volador match airs here, as well as Fabian/Mascara/Sagrado vs Warrior/Misterioso/Okumura. And maybe the Fabian/Rey stripping bit, since they’re both here anyway.

AAA-MEX: Dunno. This should’ve been the Lucha Libre Expo taping, but now that’s not for a while. The next taping isn’t until Monday. I don’t think they taped in LA, but I’m sure that’d air if they did. Otherwise, they’ve just got fill 3 hours with who knows what. (This show appears to be at noon this week.)

CMLL: back to normal, top 3 here.

C3: and top four here. Estrella Magica’s TV debut. Peste Negra reigning supreme and the like.

    ??? Who cares?

    TZUKI.

  2. Thanks for pointing out the change in start time for AAA. Hopefully this can allow me to catch the show and find someplace airing game 7 of Rockets/Lakers in the afternoon.

  3. @LLL: I’m considering it. I hate that there has been only one or one and a half matches anounced, and I expect Mesias/Wagner to have some horribly overbooked ending. I’m not a fan of either of them and I don’t have any faith that AAA will be able to avoid doing something screwy so that neither of them come out looking weak. That being said, it has been built up well, and should be viewed as huge match, and I expect there to be at least a couple good matches on the card by the time it happens. I’ll probably decide in the next week or two so that I can get decent tickets if I am going.

  4. on the whole cmll/latv situation, during ras de lona this week, they announced that the new line-up for CMLL was going to be friday’s and saturdays at 7et/4pt, don’t know if this is permanent, but it’s the times for atleast this week.

  5. @Albert: It’s permanent. Mex 2 The Max has the Sunday 7p slot. There are also airing at 2a on Saturday and Sunday.

  6. cool, thanks for the info. another thing that i wanted to bring up, i just noticed that AAA is scheduled for only 90 minutes tomorrow.

  7. that’s what it said on my cable listings, they have some comedy show listed from 6et-7et.

  8. but then, i do have time warner, they have a bad habit of changing listings, so i’ll believe the galavision listing over time warner’s.

  9. Dish Network has it listed for 90 minutes as well on their guide. Could be a similar situation to what happened 1-2 months ago were they had the show listed for 2 hours (starting at 1:30 pm), but when I tuned in about 15 minutes before that time, it had already started and was its somewhat usual 2:30 hours.

  10. @Alan: Hey Alan, if you’re interested TVC is airing one of those ‘Requiem’ shows tonight headlined by Canek vs Cibernetico. Not sure if it’s the show with their singles match or a tag match involing them. Also it looks like Puebla/IWRG are back to airing at their regular times. YAY!

  11. @Rob: I’ve actually been attempting to flip between the Requiem show and Twins/Yankees, but sadly the TVC listing seems to be misleeting since they are currently airing some swimming from Charlotte instead. Hopefully its just delayed since I’d actually like to see the show. They are however airing DTU commercials during the swimming since presumably there is a big cross over audience there.

  12. I love the speculation piece on Superluchas.net about the main event when CMLL throws competition against Triplemania. Shocker losing his hair would be big, and I hope that’s not it even though that’s the feud right now.

Would not surprise me to see CMLL try to put competition show on SKY.

  13. @Alfredo & @Albert: you guys were ahead of me; TiVo listings have it at 90 minutes here too, though Galavision’s website still has it at 150 minutes. I’ll tape 3 hours and see what happens.

  14. This week’s CMLL trivia is actually difficult! You have to name every gimmick Efesto has used during his career. I wonder if this is the first time they’ll acknowledge on TV that Efesto = Safari.

  15. Yep, 90 minute a show. Real shame – Super Fly/Laredo Kid seemed survive the editing shredder still pretty coherent, but Alex/Rocky really got ripped up.

  16. Repeat isn’t even 3 hours?

Might have to download the Lover_Ice rip and stick it on DVD.

  17. @thecubsfan: First 3 matches lasted 30 minutes combined and that includes a brief Noti AAA segment and promos/vignettes. Even the commercial breaks were shortened at times. At one point there was like a 30-second commercial break.

Did anyone else get a weird video effect during the last two AAA matches? I don’t know how to describe it, but it just made those matches look weird.

  18. @Kyle: Hmmm… didn’t notice that. His rip has Koslov/Romero going just over 6 minutes. Is that about the same as the U.S. version got?

  19. I’ve got it 5:31, but the editing removed the opening whistle so it’s probably just a timing issue.

  20. @thecubsfan: Skimmed over Lover_Ice’s rip and it looks like Galavision US edited quite a bit. Koslov/Romero seemed to have a couple minutes edited out.

  21. I need to take another look at the US airing but it almost looks like they edited out segments promoting Triplemania with the Ticketmaster info.

  22. @Kyle: Yea, didn’t see those on the US at all. I guess they’d have to edit those out because the phone number looks a local number. That’s annoying, but at least it explains some of the crazy editing.

  23. According to what was just uploaded to YouTube (TheCatchChannel)… GdR 52MX aired mini’s from Sunday and the Valiente/Metro/Hijo Del Fantasma match so… no Mistico match from that show on TV. Weird.
