2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#885)
Mexico: 04/26
US: 05/16

Hermandad tried to instigate Wagner and Mesias into the fight, but eventually lost the non-title match (which was changed to the main event.) They teased the title match, but then Konnan showed up to remind us he has all the power and so he’s just not going to make that match.

In between the 4th and 5th matches, AAA finally responded to Juvi’s comments. They responded via parody, with Billy Boy playing the role of Juvi and Jack Evans playing the role of Lizzy Valentine (also staring Konnan as Konnan), apparently just mocking Juvi and the whole situation. 3 thoughts

1) Why would you do this? Will they have a skit about falsely advertising a dead man next week?
2) I must see this.
3) AAA’s clearly trying to portray this as an angle, but to what end? (No end. They’re not thinking ends here.)

Jack and Teddy fell apart as a team and lost. Jack does appear to be turning tecnico.

Marco & Elegido may be a new team. Tiger and Alan move onto the next round. Not sure why the opener got changed (no Aerostar and no Billy, plus Diabolica in for Sexi Star), but there it is.

Next taping is in Tepic next Friday.

  1. Aero Star/Billy did work the opening match. Not sure which results you read but they appear in the photos of the show on the message boards.

Seems weird to shoot the Jack/Teddy split on a tiny show like this in a midcard match. I wonder if they’re just planting the seeds to build to a turn at Triplemania.

In continuing with his mid-90’s ECW style booking since it’s all he knows, the parody was clearly just done to sooth Konnan’s ago. Remember when Heyman would get offended at something a certain promotor did he would mock them on TV like creating a jobber with the last name ‘Hartgood’, Austin mocking Bishoff and there are countless other examples. Somehow it made Heyman feel better and Konnan is seemingly no different. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether the skit was funny or not. Heyman always tried to make the jokes very subtle and rarely if ever in front of his live audience. Konnan put this together for a live audience and I have my doubts that there was anything subtle about it. It was probably confusing for the 10 year olds who came to see Elegido, Wagner and Mesias who don’t read SuperLuchas.com but that has never been Konnan’s audience anyhow. He books for those 5 smarks in the bleachers and his ego.

On the bright side – they let Billy Boy be involved! It’s likely the closest Konnan will let him get to working with the boss.

  2. If they make imitating Juvy Billy Boy’s new gimmick, he’d be my new favorite wrestler even though he pretty much is already in the top 10-20 of my favorite lucha guys.

  3. kung_black BGT wrote at the ByL board that Aero Star and Billy Boy were only the seconds during the opening match.

  4. Billy Boy is not part of the I HATE KONNAN CLAN,go figure.

Juvi made a big press conference out of this so this is a response.

  5. @USAUSA1: Billy Boy has a job and does what he’s told. This doesn’t prove he approves of Konnan running AAA or not. Haven’t you ever done something at work b/c you’ve been told to do it even though you didn’t want to do it? (Assuming you’ve ever had a job…)

  6. Wrestlers will do a lot and put up with a whole hell of a lot more to keep their jobs. It aint easy being indy, after all.

Damn, do I ever wanna see this skit, though.

Jack and Teddy, say it aint so.

  7. SuperLuchas.com sucks, only the lames and asskissers believe they are the deal they pretend. If they are what they pretend, why thegladiatores.com asked el fantasma about the suspension on Konnan?.
superluchas.com is nothing but crap, there are better sources of information on the web.
Anyway, Konnan is really smart, setting a parody to make the morons who read superluchas.com doubt about this case.
Look at the message board and only those nicks belongin to the “clones” of the superluchas staff keep with their belief.
The nex Big Move is give Evans a big push so the morons start saying he is the real deal and the savior of Lucha Libre.
C’mon Rob, you’ve been stripped of your mask at the boxylucha forum, so stop discussing with your “alter ego”, thought you were better than that.
That subscription for the digital superluchas deal seem to took your soul as payment.
Anyway, just hope those weird things they say about the superluchas guys are just lies for your own sake.

  8. Well first off I have absolutely no idea what point you’re trying to make other than insulting SuperLuchas.

Secondly, I’m not sure what you mean by “stripped of your mask at the boxylucha forum” since I never hid who I was nor do I think it matters what name I post under b/c what’s the difference in reading FakeMistico’s opinion or randomscreenname53’s opinion?

Third – Should you really be discussing fake identities when you post under the name ‘Roger’ without identifying who you are? For all we know you write for Luchas 2000 and are just angry because SuperLuchas outsells your magazine and/or they’ve figured out how to make a website while Luchas 2000 is still stuck in the dark ages.

Fourth – I don’t have a digital subscription to SuperLuchas.

Five – You seem to pretty paranoid about SuperLuchas and it’s readers. That’s not healthy.

  9. I didn’t see that Tepic taping mentioned on TV but maybe I just missed it. They did mention Cuautitlan on the 21st though and I think they still have an Aguascalientes show this month. On the 30th maybe.

  10. AAA website clears up the confusion. Joe Lider played the role of Juventud Guerrera, not Billy Boy.

We should have known better than to think Konnan would let Billy Boy do anything where he doesn’t end up looking like an idiot.

I guess Billy can be back to being part of USAUSA1’s clan.
