04/10: Mexico preview

CMLL (FRI) 04/10 Arena Mexico
1) Tigre Blanco & Tony Rivera vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Sahori vs Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei
3) Metalico vs Hooligan [lightning]
4) Mascara Dorada, Metro, Valiente vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
5) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Maximo vs Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas
6) Dos Caras Jr., Hector Garza, La Mascara vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible

Preview: ESTO, Ovaciones, Televisa Deportes

As with every Friday show at this time of the month, it’s less interesting than the fan appreciation shows around it. The two stories to watch
– Dos Caras’ continuing rudo turn – he accidentally cost his team the match last Friday, and screwed his team over in Guadalajara later in the week. Probably more of the same here.
– Maximo’s status with CMLL

It’d also be nice to actually get a picture of Mascara Dorada with the new belt, since that strangely hasn’t turned up (though it’s clearly the same belt.)

Interestingly, both ESTO and Ovaciones also preview the AAA taping in Neza tonight, though only ESTO notes the Latin/Elegido change

Was I the only one who didn’t know that Fuego en El Ring, a site totally dedicated to Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, existed? This looks kind of awesome, I’ll start you with an interview with Super Comando & Artillero and encourage you to look around more. I think I’ll spend the afternoon trying to double check the torneo tanque dantes.

El Sol de Xalapa talks to local wrestler Rey Jaguar.

Ohtani’s Jacket watches IWRG 03/26/09 and then seeks on some more Black Terry

LuchaWorld has Robert on AAA 11/22/07, CMLL TV 12/08/07, and KrisZ’s news update.

  1. Sadly it would appear there is very little to that Fuego en el Ring beyond the front page stuff. Creative website but content is non-existent.

You should have the Mascara Dorada photo in your e-mail. The entire match went up on youtube and I really liked it.

  2. Youtube might be the best invention ever for Lucha Libre.

Is it weird that the thing i’m most looking forward to on tonights CMLL show is the women’s match? Mostly for the Technicas.

  3. Dos turning would be stupid. There’s hope for him as a tecnico.

Mascara in the main? I’d like to see Maximo turn heel.

  4. @LLL: Didn’t you say not more than 2 months ago you wanted Dos Jr. to turn rudo and feud with Marco? Or maybe it was the other way around…

  5. Well Dos did turn rudo tonight. He yanked off La Mascara’s mask, beat up Garza including throwing him through Tony’s easel and then flipped off the crowd before storming off.

I fully expect CMLL to book him as a tecnico next Friday.

  6. I can see Dos booked as a tecnico again, with some explanation given on CMLL.com that it was a misunderstanding at ArMex.

But if it’s a full fledged turn, he’ll win a mask at Anniversary. Maybe UG?
