Negro got Mistico clean in the main event. No mention of Dos Jr. stuff this week. Semimain saw Villlano beat UG in the first fall and Atlantis and Panther get their submissions on Averno & Mephisto in the second. UG was left alone with V5 in the third, but all of the other Hijos de Averno ran in pounced on the tecnicos for the DQ.
ESTO says Metro & Sagrado had some issues with their dives, but Maximo still won.
CMLL is saying their show runs from 1500 to 1700 (which would be 5pm to 7pm Eastern time in the US.) C3’s show is also an hour later, if I’m doing the mat right.

Mexico changes their clock this weekend.
If Villano vs. Ultimo Guerrero is not a PPV, won’t it hurt attendance b/c people will assume it will air the next day on free tv?
If it doesn’t air as a PPV, they’ll probably hold off airing it so soon on free tv. I think they’d air it similarly to the Anniversary show from last year where they aired it weeks later with only three full matches.
That’s what i think, but predicting CMLL’s decision-making isn’t easy.
Marco Corleone replaced Shocker in yesterday’s main event.
If they really would think about ways to avoid hurting their attendance, they wouldn’t arrange the Homenaje as the fifth show in Arena Mexico in just 10 days.
I think CMLL has decided a full house doesn’t matter as long as they still make money by jacking up ticket prices. Even if you draw a 3/4 house at the prices they are charging it will still make them more money by lowering the costs and drawing a full house.
Not putting it on PPV is a decision that can only be explained by noting everyone in charge of the promotion still uses a rotary phone, typewriter and BETA tapes.
Veo TV aired the top 3 from the 2/16/07 Arena Mexico show. So the Reyes Del Aire aired in full including the battle royale to determine teams which has me very confused b/c I thought they did a straight tecs vs rudos match that year?
@Alfredo: Let us know if you see ads for AAA in LA on LATV during CMLL tonight. Nationally on Galavision, we’ve seen nothing yet. That’s not good.

That Tuesday lineup looks brutal unless the semi-main and main surprise us. The segunda could be as awful as that Aero Star/Angel vs Jack/Teddy match I just watched from 11/17/08.
Still surprised they haven’t made a change to the Friday show and added La Sombra somewhere. Why do you need Toscano and Sagrado wrestling instead of the future of CMLL?

When I went to XEJ’s website, and saw OBAMA on the magazine cover, I knew it was bad news.

@LLL: Obama is good – the feed is up! Of course the opener was the only match I wanted to see and we missed half of it…
I’m guessing the Maximo/Texanito airs next since it’s build for tomorrow. The semi-main with Panther/Guerrero will probably be saved for next week since they have no show and will be airing filler matches.
OOF. That couldn’t have been pleasant for Mr. Cometa.
Turns out they saved the main event for next week. So what airs depends on what LATV aired today.

C3 semi-main was good.
I took Silver King, Parka, Ozz and Super Fly to win their respective groups and Silver King to win the entire tournament.
Caught the Angel De Plata vs Tiger Kid match from LATV via youtube. Right up there with Stuka Jr./Euforia as the best Lightning Match done since the format was brought back. Helped that they got plenty of time (7 minutes~!) which meant no editing.
If they’re going to end up doing a tournament out of this we’ve got a fun second round match with Mascarita Dorada vs Angel De Plata.:P
@LLL: No AAA ads during the CMLL show on LATV.
I have to mention that I really enjoyed this week’s AAA TV show (the one on Galavision US). Really strong show from a storyline standpoint. The one thing I like more about AAA than CMLL is that they’ve done a tremendous job of building up the rudos and tecnicos sides. Not many tweeners like CMLL with there infatuation with rudos vs. rudos or tecnicos vs. tecnicos. El Zorro has been great this year.
Veo TV had top 4 from the 2/23 Arena Mexico show including an excellent Panther/Mascara/Maximo vs Averno/Mephisto/Sangre Azteca match. Next week should have the 3/2 and 3/9 shows which each had 6 matches and the 3/2 show could have a NEUTRON appearence plus two unaired matches for those keeping track (i.e. me).
who is gonna lose rivera ( region 4 trump version) or roldan ( region 4 mc mahon version) ????? and between maximo and texano i think maximo is gonna lose his pink hair he´s fun

Word from the CMLL Hi5 page is Rosa Negra no-showed the Arena Mexico show tonight and Sahori took her place as a tecnica playing the role of a ruda unwillingly. Also, Corleone no-showed the semi-main and was replaced by Angel Azteca Jr. of all people.
Blue Panther/La Sombra/Angel Azteca Jr. teaming? Yes please.
Oh and the report also says attendance wasn’t good. Not a good sign if attendance is down for a half-priced show five days before you want to pack the house for a show with triple the regular prices. Then again tonight’s show really had no main attraction and if anyone argues the title match meant something they deserve to be slapped.
