03/05: Dragon, Wagner, IWRG, Puebla, GDL

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 03/01 Arena Coliseo [The Gladiatores]
1) Trauma I & Trauma II b Ministro & Super Camaleon
2) Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Universo 2000 b Iguanita & Pequeno Ninja
3) Solar I b Negro Navarro
4) ?, Adam Bridle, Durango Kid b Loco Max, Shigeo Okumura, Skandalo
5) Ohara b Brazo de Platino [hair]

That’s the 13th hair match loss this decade (that we know off) for Brazo de Platino. After the main event, Ohara and Ultimo Dragon agreed to a hair vs mask match for 05/09 on the annual Dragonmania show.

Solar wants another title shot, of course. (FWIW, this is match #23 since March of 2004 that I’ve counted.) Iguanita was probably a replacement for Nino de Acero and ended up turning on Ninja, who was destroyed.

Wagner (SUN) 03/01 Arena Lopez Mateos [the Gladiatores]
1) Chico del Barrio & Yakuza b Angel O Demonio & Carta Brava
2) Rey Krimen, Sepulturero I, Terry 2000 b Epitafio, Herejia, Rocky Santana
3) Bugambilia & Rossy Moreno b Caricia & Esther Moreno
4) Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido b Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. [torneo, semifinal]
5) Super Calo & Veneno b Intocable & Yakuza [torneo, semifinal]
6) Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido b Super Calo & Veneno [torneo, final]
7) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Olimpico DQ Canek & Cibernetico

Main event teams fell apart, Canek Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. made surprise run-ins, and Cibernetico fouled Wagner for the DQ.

Zumbido tried to set up a hair match with Super Calo after the tournament, but Intocable interrupted to remind Zumbido (and us all) that they have a hair match in San Juan on 03/20.

IWRG (SUN) 03/01 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Galactic b Soldado del Diablo
2) Imperio Azteca & Vampiro Metálico b Fenix & Miss Gaviota
3) Black Terry, Capitán Muerte, Xibalva b Chico Che, Eragon, Trauma I
4) Freelance, Pendulo, Zatura b Avisman, Fantasma de la Ópera, Tetsuya Bushi
5) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. DQ Head Hunter I & Head Hunter II

Jr. Capos won the first fall. Head Hunters had the second fall won, but ended up getting DQe for excessive violence. Still, they want a tag title shot.

Semimain was also two straight falls (as was the opener). Zatura and Tetsuya feuded thru the match, with Zatura getting the pin at the end. Rudos destroyed the tecnicos after the match.

Chico Che filled in for Trauma II, who was hurt (on the Toryumon show?) but still showed up to corner his team. Black Terry taunted Trauma II before, after, and probably during the match on way to the win.

Vampiro Metalico suffered a knee injury in the third fall, but Imperio Azteca was still able to pull out teh win.

The Glaidiatores also has a remembrance of recently deceased photographer Luis Napoles Salas.

Tickets have gone on sale for Dos Leyandas, running from $1400 MX ($90US) for ringside to $100MX ($6.50US) for the worst seats.

Over on LMdlL, Ricardo Figueroa has a video interview with Dr. Wagner from his AAA appearance.

Box Y Luchas writes about the Guerreros Tuareg visiting Nitro (Camorra is included as a member of the group here, which I believe is a first), a look back at El Murcielago & Kahoz, Okumura returning to Japan, and a couple articles on Pierroth: Pierroth II organizing the charity show for the recent one next month, and Villano III talking about a benefit show for the original Pierroth. There’s also new photos up of India Sioux, Chabela Romero, el Retador, Toro Negro and Black Shadow.

AAA has articles on Dr. Wagner on AAA shows. Alex Koslov to ROH and Konnan attacking Roldan

ESPN Deportes and Notifight also have articles about the donation to Fray Tormenta.

LuchandoLibre has a preview of Dos Leyendas.

LuchaWorld has Robert on IWRG 09/15/07 and CMLL GdR #10/13/07 and FSE 10/14/07 and KrisZ’s news update

Konnan changed the main event to a handicap match and the rest of the Legion interfered too. Arturo helped beat up Roldan as well. It’s not explicitly stated in the recap, but it surely there weas a tease (or maybe even resolution) to the Chessman/Legion alliance.

Zorro pinned Abismo Negro in the semimain. Silver King busted Parka open again. D-Mex ran in after the match or around the finish, but weren’t enough to change things.

Konnan also showed up at the beginning of the show to swap around the tag matches, with the idea that the Mexican Powers would get a title shot if they won a non-title match. For once, that didn’t happen, Lider beating Crazy clean with a foul. In the other match, Nikki was used as cannon fodder to set up Teddy beating Alex.

Gran Apache was stretchered out during his match because of Billy Boy chair shots to a knee, but the Morenos bumbled their way to a loss. Before the match, Gran Apache Pepe Casas was honored for 50 years in wrestling.

Next Taping is Rey de Reyes.
