It’s pretty obvious these four are a distance away from the rest of the pack here. Silver King was arguable before his turn, but now he’s married to La Parka and we’re already short on rudos anyway. In fact, since the final will likely be two rudos and two tecnicos, they’re probably bound to lose Abismo (via Black Abyss) or Latin (random Legion guys?) in the first round. Maybe Electro makes the final. Maybe someone random.
Okay, so we’ve got the tournament. What else?
– Konnan (w/Arturo Rivera) vs ? (w/Joaquin Roldan) – everyone will suppose this to be Cibernetico until they announce it or announce differently. Yet, there’s no Mesias match and no obvious one coming, so that’s probably the stronger bet at the moment
– something with X-Pac and Zorro
– something with Charly and Chessman?
– something to round out the numbers – maybe Apache/Billy related, maybe just a random match
They ran four non-tournament matches last year, and I would figure on the same this year.

@Tony Galvan: probably win king’s mask at some point too.
Ciber would be the logical choice as the surprise for me, although something between Konnan and Mesias has been built up for a while now.

Roldan’s guy will probably be Vampiro—Commisioner vs General Director.
Based on Zorro’s promos, he could be the one turning, so he could be Roldan’s surprise.
@LLL: That’s a story line that would be great if done properly. If the mystery guy is Zorro he should come back as he was when he was technico (before the mask). That would make the story more interesting. If he turns technico and remains as he is now that would just be stupid.
Why should Latin Lover win? Shouldn’t it be a guy that’s full time and you know will stay and not leave when he’s not happy? Therefore, Give it to Joe Lider. The internet would explode.
@Daniel: He did a promo with the mask in hand, with Hart and girlfriend asking him “What is that”? But they have been teasing a turn in the promos for sure.
I second the Sonjay Dutt. Maybe even Petey Williams. TNA “creative” can give their crappy color commentator a heel turn angle, but nothing for two solid, talented guys.
Why can’t AAA leave Nicho and Lider out of the tournament and make them finally drop their worthless belts to Jack Evans and Teddy Hart?
As vanilla as he is, a returning Cibernetico would be cool.

If Joe Lider won the Internet would explode, but probably not in a positive way. And even if it were in a positive way who cares, the Internet fans are such a slim minority compared to the fans who just watch AAA on tv and attend live events. What people say in chat rooms means nothing when it comes to money made and pops in an arena.
@LLL: A turn will definately happen eventually, but I don’t think it will be as soon as Rey de Reyes. Probably more towards TripleMania or even Verano de Escandalo.
i see Konnan turning for the Konnan/Zorro feud. Zorro is so much better as a rudo anyway.
@Bruce: That’s a good point, I actually thought about that too. I don’t agree that Zorro is better as a rudo but I can see Konnan turning technico. When you consider that other Legion members like Teddy Hart and Nikki want Konnan out, I can see Konnan making himself the hero of AAA.
Hey if they made Messias AAA’s #1 Technico they would do it with Konnan too.
I remember some skits last year when Konnan made himself look like an Austin battling McMahon.
Zorro’s promos mixing English and Spanish are great.

Mesias is very popular as a tecnico despite what people on the net say. I don’t think Konnan can be one though.

If Messias does want to get over as a technico he’ll have to change his entrance music because it’s evil and won’t work for a technico. He’ll also have to stop using the druids especially when the look more like KKK guys than druids.
Change his entrance music? Isn’t this the same promotion that had a lead technico group named Los Hell Brothers with Chessman who looks like the Devil? And like the people really care if he has druids.

Everything about him translates to rudo and changes have to be made to give him a technico feel.
How are the Hell brothers that much different? Both have dark, devilish gimmicks. And Banderas was a pretty good tecnicos in PR doing the same gimmick. If Satanico can be a technico, so can Mesias without changing much.
@Tim: Yes they both have dark develish gimmiks but they are still a lot different. They have a different feel, look, style. Hell Brothers were develish but they weren’t nearly as dark as Messias. Some things work to get somebody over as a face/technico, and other things don’t. Messias’ current style in not working to get him over as a technico.
In Puerto Rico he was wrestling for such a garbage promotion that you really can’t classify anything there as over.
