CMLL (SUN) 02/01 Arena Coliseo [ESTO, Ovaciones]
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Sombra de Plata b Calígula & Méssala
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera b Bronco III, Hooligan, Loco Max

4) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Toscano b Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr.
5) Black Warrior, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero b Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza

Dos accidentally bumped one ref, the other ref went to check on him, and UG yanked his mask and pinned him. Not much of news on the rest of the show. Tecnicos won the opener in 2.

CMLL (SUN) 02/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MT]
5) Rey Bucanero b Volador Jr. [CMLL LH]

Rey is the only guy who can beat the young tecnicos when it counts lately. Volador won the first, and took a superbomb in the second from Bucanero which caused the match to be stopped for a bit while they checked Volador’s neck. During the third fall, Volador’s mask fell off. Bucanero didn’t have anything to do with it, but almost got DQed for it. Rey got Volador with a cradle to hold on. That’s vertified defense number 15 for Bucanero.

Monterrey has a 50 man battle royal this week and I refuse to type it up (yet.) RFC is a tougher man than I.

(SuperLuchas) Mascara Sagrada and Super Muneco were on a panel discussion of lucha libre.

Super Luchas also looks back at Pegasso Kid vs Villano III

US: 03/07

Mesias v Chessman means something getting lit on fire and someone’s going thru a table. This is all bad news for Chessman, even before you remember Mesias is the new hero.

Though, I do appreciate the attempt at building Chessman up beforehand; it’s as if they actually planned in advance for once, because Chessman got the win over Ozz to set up this match. And I guess, if we’re being optimistic, Chessman could beat Mesias to set up a title match (but this would involve them holding off the match for many weeks, or actually doing a title match on a non major show.)

Again with Parka/King vs Hermandad Xtreme, though new partners this time. Still looks like the setup for a tag title match, but the previous taping’s finish doesn’t play into that. Maybe it’s part of a greater “Joe Lider and Nicho must be on TV every week” plan?

KENTA being back is strange, but that could be a fun match. It might also hint that there’s another taping a few days later, since that’s when they like to bring in foreigners.

Reina de Reinas is (supposedly) no more than three weeks away from this show, and they’ve got all of three women on the show. I was really surprised to read that they were still going to do it this year. And I’m thinking this is probably not even about that – feel more like Billy Boy might get try #3 at winning Gran Apache’s hair.

That’s a minis rudo side with no Mini Abismo Negro, which can not stand.

Projected Air Date (#874)
Mexico: 02/08
US: 02/28

1 day turnaround on putting up the results, which seems to be the standard.

Tecnicos goofed up in the main event, and Kenzo pinned Parka. Seems like a while between Kenzo actually beating someone here.

Abismo Negro got annoyed and martineted Black Abyss for the DQ.

Chessman won, but Vampiro took back his Atomicos belt. Vampiro has all four now, and no idea what’s going on with those belts. Those are the last Mexican National championship still in play in AAA – the tag titles get brought up once a month but are ignored on TV. Octagon, Parka and Charly (sort of) claim weight championships but those belts haven’t been seen in a long time.

Air Force actually got in offense! Still lost.

Guapito helped the tecnicos again. He and Cuije appear to be getting along.
