Today, SuperLuchas is reporting the next big show for this group will be an eight man mask/hair cage match on 02/14 in Arena Lopez Mateos. Participants are Mil Mascaras, Dos Caras, Canek, Villano V, Scorpio Jr., Villano III, Shu el Guerrero and Mano Negra.
Elsewhere in SuperLuchas #299, the cover story is an interview with Dr. Wagner Jr. Wagner explains the announced AAA booking isn’t the only one – he wants to work with all groups, so he’s going to start working AAA spot shows. Wagner specifically says no TV tapings, at least for the time being.
Freelance is also in the magazing, saying the Box Y Lucha article which had him challenging Mascarita Dorada and Bam Bam was mostly invented by the Box Y Lucha article.
Vanguardia talks to Hijo del Faraon, who sees Dr. Wagner Jr. was what he’d like to be, but without all the conflicts with promoters.
In an interview with Al Filo del Ring, El Hijo del Solitario makes it clear he’d love to face Santo in a mask/mask match if Perro Jr. doesn’t want to step up. Main event is confusing – there must’ve been an angle this week that I don’t know about yet. It’s listed as an Atomicos, but only three guys on one side are listed. I assume the Corp is Veneno and Other People. The old Corporacion was Scorpio Jr., the Cerebros, Pantera, Black Tiger and Veneno. Probably not Black Tiger this time.
I read the SuperLuchas article and it’s really shitty of Box y Lucha to print an incorrect quote. It seems like the ByL guy just transcribed what Freelance said incorrectly and made it seem like he was challenging the CMLL roster rather than just looking forward to facing them. It’s a lazy mistake and who knows if it may effect Freelance’s chances of getting in if the people in charge see that as some punk having no respect for the promotion. There were always accusations that Luchas 2000 faked their interviews but this is the first time I’ve seen Box y Lucha called out.
WWE tv will probably hurt AAA more than anyone, b/c the entire country can now see that AAA is doing the same tv format as them.

Yup. 12 Corazones is on Telemundo in the US, and Televisa 9 in Mexico. One of the shows in the deal that was supposed to bury Univision, until Univision and Televisa settled out of court last week.
