Tetsuyi eliminated Veneno and finally Zatura to win Guerra Revolucionaria. I presume Zatura eliminated some of the Oficials, because they stormed the ring post match to beat him down. Traumas made the save, and we have our teams for a pending trios (IWRG) title match.
Not just that one, but also for the DF Trios belts. I kept thinking Nemesis would revert to his pirate persona, but Capitan Muerte has stepped in as the third buccaneer for Barba Roja and Pirata Morgan, and they defeated the champs in a brawl.
ESPNDeportes previews today’s mask match. I think I’m voting Nino de Acero goes down.
El Siglo de Torreon has an article about local wrestlers succeeding nationally, including interviews with Sombra, Ephesto, and Hooligan. Extraneous detail: Sombra mentions defending the NWA title against Euforia, which we don’t otherwise had. The Ephesto interview goes into his pre-national career more detailed than I’ve seen. Hooligan wants to be a top wrestler in 2009, teaming with (“mi hermano”) Ultimo Guerrero. But he’s thinking that in terms of the Laguneros, which seems to be dead as a concept.
Speaking to Al Filo del Ring, Santo says the hair match with Perro Aguayo Jr. is definitely off. Usual bit of someone (Perro) making a challenge in public but not actually being interested in signing for the match. Santo says the CMLL Spain affected his shows a bit, because the CMLL shows were so bad the fans were turned off on lucha libre and he had to rebuild their interest a bit. Luckily, the names Santo and Demon were enough to do it.
SuperLuchas #297 also mentions there’s talk Los Perros del Mal have signed Bobby Lashley to wrestle Cibernetico in March. But that’s still far off.
Hype for a three masks vs two mask/1 hair match next Saturday, as the undercard of a show with CMLL wrestlers in Cancha German Evers.
