01/03-01/04 Lucha Times

My schedule has changed. I don’t know quite know what it is right now. We’ll figure it out together.

box

FSE-US: No show this week or next week, due to Fox Sports covering the Interliga tournament. (Which isn’t totally it – they could cut out one rerun and find a spot for it, but it’s the excuse.)

Seeing as this show seems to be setting up a Princesa Blanca vs Marecla title match, I don’t think anyone (but possibly me*) will care as much about missing that as much as Sombra/Ephesto. But missing out on the Lightning matches will be a disappointment.

52MX: is the show you should be annoyed about seeing, because the minis feud is tracking over here, and no one’s going to see the cage match (which may not actually be good, but never mind) unless someone bails us out. Plus, Averno & Mephisto uncovered.

AAA-US: Part 1 of GdT brings you the mixed tag match, DMEX vs Sect, Latin vs Konnan and the cage match.

AAA-MEX: They aired a new taping last week, so that should carry over to this week, with a Parka/Latin/Mesias vs Electro/Konnan/Zorro main event. Find out if the new Espectro is any good.

CMLL: Holiday layover grab bag.

FSE-MEX: More women’s Trio, Skandalo/Angel and a rare Lizmark Jr. sighting.

C3: Whatever’s happening right now. They’re planning on running this day of the week’s Fan Appreciation show next week, but there doesn’t seem to be an obvious match set up so far.

* – this is only for the “can Marcela be be great enough to get a + match out of Blanca?” factor

12/30: not much

Really nothing going on. I plan to get the Lucha Times post up tonight, and then lots and lots of recaps the next few days.

Here in Chicago, GALLI is off this weekend but running the next two:

01/11 in Cicero with Charily Manson Jr., Casandro and Gringo Loco vs CHIKARA’s 2008 King of Trios winners Incognito, Lince Dorada and Pantera. I really have to find a way to get to this show.

01/18 in Addison with a tecnico/tecnico title match of Samurai vs Slayer.

They’re also offering wrestling camps with Pantera on both weekends at their school.

SuperLuchas looks back to the early days of Mil Mascaras, where he was hated by the press.

Televisa has a licensing page for the AAA Animated Movie. It’s been a while since we heard anything about it.

CMLL did put up a Puebla lineup on Monday night, but with the same “Angel del Plata”  wrestler. Might as well wait for results to turn up. This probably has nothing to do wiht that, but I wonder if CMLL ends up regimmicking Pegasso and Rey Cometa; they seem to want to own names for guys they’re going to push, so they may be keeping them in low positions until they’re ready to really debut.

WrestlingObserver has their CMLL FSE and AAA Recap.

LuchaWorld has AAA 05/30/07 and CMLL GDR 06/23 and CMLL FSE 06/24/07, as well as KrisZ’s news update.
