AAA 11/15 (#858)

taped 10/15, aired 11/15

I didn’t like this one any better than the last few, but I don’t have the passion to rant about it forever.

With AAA running one or two angles per segment, it is sort of amazing that they expect casual fans not only to remember Nicho & Lider punking out Chris in the parking lot, but to actually care.

The matches are still poor. I never want want to see Hx vs HF2 again, and am well aware I will not be getting that wish. The insanity of bringing in Rellik in to be Big Scary Dude Who Beats Everyone Up when you have Electro and Kenzo already in the same group doing variations of the same is pretty typical for this period in AAA. Building up Elegido and having him get laid out without getting a shot in latter seems incredibly counter productive.

Who would’ve booked the main event? Doesn’t really make any sense for Roldan to be putting his meal ticket Cibernetico in a match with his three greatest enemies at once. Mesias & Cibernetico both let us know how much the match was going to suck. Zorro’s busy being drunk. It did seem completely random enough to be a Chessman production.

Things I did like, because someone around here has to be positive
* Super Fly increased his offense by infinity, going from 0 to 1 moves
* Teddy vowing to show his anger by doing New Moves and Jack Evans as Martin Luther King
* Hijo de Pirata Morgan, slightly over excited to be on TV
* Zorro WINS. Rooting for Super Fly seems so hopeless, but rooting for Zorro seems entertainingly anti-establishment.

  1. I sort of agree.

I still dvr aaa every week, but i rarely watch it and usually end up deleting like a months worth of shows at a time.

  2. AAA is 88:00 minutes if you DVR and use the FF button to get through it. Those Teleton and Consolidated Credit ads are a killer.

    Evans is a good promo.

  3. well, even when i did watch the shows, I usually turned it off after the midcarders wrestled. The top of the card bores me and all that Konnan makes me automatically turn off the tv.

  4. AAA skits are a little too long. Other than that, they are explaining the angles pretty well.

Shorten the skits, cut back on violence, and it’s not a bad product.

  5. Zorro is my favorite. I don’t know if it’s drugs, booze or being crazy, but that guy is GOLD!!! I want him to be champ so bad!

  6. @christi: He’s John Morrison with a singapore cane, LOL! I kid, I kid.

I don’t know what Zorro is thinking I do hope he does turn technico again, all this rudo stuff has gotten him virtually nowhere.

(sits back and waits for the verbal abuse to start)

  7. @k.D.b: I’ve been saying the same thing for a long time. I agree with you.

This episode had bad and good. I know AAA/Konnan want to folow the examples of the WWE. Instead of follwing the good examples they just follow the bad ones. So Degeneration Mex just had to phicically Nikki, and then X-Pac gives her the bronco buster which is nothing less than sexual assult. The stupid part is that they expect people to enjoy watching this.

Befoe I get replies from people saying that there are mixed gender matches all the time, let me make it clear that I have a problem with Nikki being assulted becaue she’s not a wrestler.

The only good part was the contract signing especialy when Latin Lover go the big intro he deserves. His phone connection was pretty bad, but that’s OK soon he’ll be doing his talking in the ring.

  8. galavision had a lot of static when i dvr’d this (cable company signal prob) so i’m glad u hav it avail 4 dl. good quality audio n video but the sound volume was a bit low. u mite wanna ncrease da bitrate on dat 4 ur next rip. keep em comin. rite now, ur providing aaa n fox sports espanol cmll. i’m checking with sum1 else 2 c if dey can keep providing televisa cmll n iwrg. looks like we can all get our full lucha fix soon enuf.
