Wagner may have gone back to the rudo side here. Crowd was loving Atlantis, which angered Dr. Wagner. In between the first and second fall, Wagner threw a chair at someone (Atlantis? An announcer?) but missed, and the chair bounced and hit a child on the hand. He was okay, but the crowd completely turned on Wagner from there and Wagner likewise. Atlantis took the match and there was the usual mask challenges here.

Volador replaced Sagrado. CMLL.com says Sagrado will be out five weeks after separating his shoulder on Sunday.

Expreso talks to referee Gordo Volador, who feels he was close to making it to Arena Coliseo but ended up more interested in drinking.

AAA’s website says Guerra de Titantes will be on 12/06 in Orizaba. No building is announced; last time they were there, they ran the bullring. It’ll be another Night Of Champions, and they tease perhaps Elegido/Pirata, Brazo/Porky or Super Fly/Electro will be resolved. (Wait, we’re supposed to want to see another Super Fly vs Electro match?)

This interview with one of Galavision’s RAW announcers says they’re adding the show on Mondays so it airs live. Here again, they say the show will continue airing Sundays.

Alex Koslov is under the cover of the next Dos Y Tres.

Pequeno Damian In Dradtion: 11/12 LOSS, teaming with Takeshi Minamino, losing to Great Sasuke & El Blazer (Blazer on Minamino.)

  1. Eventually this was going to happen. Atlantis a technico again and Wagner a rudo again.

    So what happens with GDA?

  2. Ultimo turns Tecnico and aligns with Panther and Rey leaves the Guerreros and joins Averno’s group.

Rudo Wagner is awesome but Pumpkin Wagner is better.

  3. @Tim: Pumpkin Wagner?

I could always see Ultimo as a technico, but I was hoping it would be alongside Rey Buccanero, but Rey joins the Merchants of Death.

  4. Yeah, I’d hoped that having Rey & Ultimo on the same side again would be a return to the good old days of GDI — yet it seems like the most we got was that first match and their stuff in TNA. Might as well send Ultimo to Technico land. :/

MAKE ME LOVE YOU AGAIN, LUCHA.

  5. “This interview with one of Galavision’s RAW announcers says they’re adding the show on Mondays so it airs live. Here again, they say the show will continue airing Sundays.”

It airs at 22:30, not live. Many complaints, outside of Mexico City, it is on after NFL Monday Night, last Monday it was 11 PM and the football game was still on, next day kids have to go to school…

I’ve not heard of it being kept (or gone) in Gala, the ByL and Martinete don’t mention it, but maybe Pietrasanta knows better… my faith in Vince’s deep pockets might be reestablished. He would be better putting out the “we are afraid of kidnappings” excuse already and making the quick excit, but if he wants to make it slow and painful…

Wagner is talking the same talk as when he was banned earlier this year, he’s even saying he’s joining Aguayo’s company (since no one will fall for that “I’m going to AAA” thing again). Since ‘tico returning did little for attendance, Villanos flopped, Averno’s team is midcarder at best and already jobbed to La Mascara and Laguneros were jobbed to Villanos, Wagner is the only thing left for CMLL even if they had said he was not returning to Fridays shows. Oh well, they’ll also have Toscano back, and maybe Shocker after that. No one cared before, I doubt anyone would care this time.

And CMLL TV on Gala is off this coming weekend again…

  6. CMLL had Wagner working Fridays from June to September and attendance steadily went down to the point it’s at now. So you can toss him in the failed list too.

  7. What is causing CMLL’s problems at the box office? Is it the booking, and lack of angles? No new stars?

  8. All the eggs in the Mistico basket. That and the main event guys just aren’t exciting.

Vince should just not worry about Mexico. He needs to worry about the States.

  9. Wagner was always booked to look weak, so it can’t be a failure since CMLL wanted to diminish Wagner’s star power by overexposing him and not building nothing around him.

Vince couldn’t care less for Mexico, the show is not worked around what the audience in Mexico will think, they would do better if they hired professional dubbers (including females) and sell it like what it is, a soap opera. It comes off as “sports” and no one is buying it (not that the female audience, which is the vast majority of AAA’s fans would care anyways).

Business is down because that’s the nature of it. It makes sense that CMLL will never want to push external guys, but they never created anyone to fill in the space. In the last 2 years they’ve got into fights with Santo jr, LA Park, Wagner and now Aguayo, and ‘tico would be gone if it was up to the guy.

I think they’ll simply wait whatever time it takes for the business to go up again.

  10. Why does Wagner get a pass for being booked bad but Mistico doesn’t? They never created new opponents for him or gave him any storyline for his return. Why don’t the Triad also get a pass for being booked bad and made to job to everyone in sight?

  11. @xuisaw: You really hate WWE. I’m thinking the reason Televisa and Azteca commentators do the commentary has to do with the union. Network employees have to do the commentary on free tv. On cable they don’t.

While CMLL seems weak now, I think AAA and their new RAAAW format will catch up to them.

  12. I’m really starting to believe Mistico is CMLL’s John Cena, and not because he gets half booed and half cheered. Mistico is being counted on, a-la Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura in New Japan, to lead the new generation and lead the company.

I do agree that EMLL needs to be refreshed from a booking standpoint, but you have to have the people involved and even listen to the fans. You think they may be unknowledgeable, but in reality they, and we, know better.

  13. I’m Googolplex per cent rudo.

Who ever said I hate WWE? Well, WWF anyways. I grew up watching WWF, I saw all their PPVs up to the early nighties… for free, on local TV. Ten years ago, I would watch Lucha Lunes, Nitro and RAW, everything, but I got pissed off at they never go showing the big matches (I refuse to even consider buying the PPV, it’s in the genes, I rather not see WWE anymore).

The Union has nothing to do with it, it happened with the Simpsons, and Fox got through and used non-union Fake Shemps on national TV. Both WWE commentary guys suck, they just suck during matches, but one of them is the worse thing ever on interview, it is like if his lips are sewed in, he barely separates his lips and you can not make any sense on what’s going on.

Why would ‘tico get a pass? He came back, and beat Ultimo clean, is that being victim of bad booking?

    Answer: No.

  14. What is causing CMLL’s problems at the box office? Is it the booking, and lack of angles? No new stars?

Besides that, there’s a dose of “bad luck”, yeah I know it sounds awful, but that’s the only way I can say it.

They tried to go mainstream with a bunch of things that bombed, 5 Magnificos, big flop, Muchachitas soap with ‘tico, moderate flop, Los Campeones with Dragon Rojo Jr, flopped bad, 500,000 dollars at the box office… Olympic games with ‘tico, bombed… etc.

On the long run they’ll be better? Sure, 10 years from now Villano III is going to be the big draw they’re making him to be…

  15. “Why would ‘tico get a pass? He came back, and beat Ultimo clean, is that being victim of bad booking?”

Yes. You don’t bring back the big star and just feed him another big star with no follow-up. Why should the fans come back the following week if they just saw Mistico beat his top rival cleanly? Wagner received much better treatment. When he made his big return he was instantly put in a feud with a returning Mr. Niebla in what was a pretty big angle at the time. He was given an instant feud and the fans had a reason to show up to see what would happen. Attendance never moved though and eventually began to come down.

  16. “Wagner received much better treatment.”

He’s infinitely better than ‘tico, so what?

Wagner has not cut a promo in CMLL tv in like… 3 years… ‘tico has cut lots of promos… all of them… fail!!!
