11/09: AULL, IWRG, Azteca, lineup

AULL (SUN) 11/02 Arena Lopez Mateos [SuperLuchas #289]
1) King Dragon & Relampago b Dianmic Boy & Granaloco [Ruleta de la muerte, SF]
2) Epitafio & Fantasma de la Ópera b Chico Che & Super Panda
3) Coco Verde & Cocolores b Rey Krimen & Sadico [Ruleta de la muerte, SF]
4) Hormia Atomica & Yakuza b Silver Cat I & Silver Cat II [Ruleta de la muerte, SF]
5) Jose Caporal & Psicopat b Epidemia & Robin Maravilla [Ruleta de la muerte, SF]
6) Chico Che & Super Panda b Silver Cat I & Silver Cat II
7) Rey Krimen & Sadico b Epidemia & Robin Maravilla [Ruleta de la muerte, SF]
8) Coco Rojo, Monsther, Rambo b Enrique Vera JR., Enrqiue Vera, Rocky Santana
9) Silver Cat I & Silver Cat II b Epidemia & Robin Maravilla [Ruleta de la muerte, final, AULL TAG]

This was a Ruleta de la Muerte with hair, masks or titles on the line depending on the team, and the Silver Cats pick up the titles. Think about that for a second – to win the championship of the best tag team in the group, the Silver Cats had to lose twice before. The champs lost to three different teams, but the last team is declared the best because they also lost two matches.

IWRG (FRI) 11/07 Arena Naucalpan [Friday’s IWRG show., SoloLuchas]
1) Super Halcon Jr. b Shuriken
2) Eragon & Miss Gaviota b Avisman & Judas el Traidor
3) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Jack DQ Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Xibalva
4) Arlequin, Black Terry, Toxico AAA b Goledador, Multifacetico, Pendulo
5) el Hijo del Pierroth, Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 b Head Hunter I, Toscano, Veneno

Capos side fell apart, setting up a Capos vs Veneno/Head Hunter vs Arlequin/Hijo de Pierroth feud. (Toscano clearly has better things to do.) Gemelos won the tercera by being dropped on their heads via martiente for the DQ. SoloLuchas also has an interview with Marcos Moreno, who explains the shift to Fridays as a way to draw more kids who wouldn’t be able to come on school nights. Doesn’t sound like it worked here.

SCORPIO (FRI) 11/07 Arena Azteca Budokan [SoloLuchas]
1) Galactico & Templario b Erseus & Gladiador Negro
2) Luis Cirio, Manny Cirio, Tony Cirio b La Hormiga, La Mosca, Principe Celeste
3) Black Spirit, Mascara Oro y Plata, Mini Electro, Mini Oriental, Mini Zoom b Gladiador Negro, Mascara Virtual, Mini Cibernetico, Mini Ozz, Mini Scorpio
4) Alda Moreno, Esther Moreno, Flor Metalica, Sexi Star, Vicky Carranza b La Chola, Lady Metal, Paterna Surena, Rossy Moreno
5) Enferermo, Gran Markus, Hijo de Gran Markus b Mascara Virtual, Ogun, Principe Celeste
6) Juventud Guerrera, LA Park, Zumbido b Hijo del Gran Markus, Mascara Ano 2000, Universo 2000

I don’t think there was a match here that was as originally listed (though the original list only had two.) Wonder if Sexi Star being her means she’s out of AAA, or if she was just trying to remind people that she exists.

CMLL (SUN) 11/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MT]
5) Blue Panther & Héctor Garza b Averno & Mephisto

SoloLuchas teases Mr. Niebla vs Mistico. SoloLuchas says Vampiro‘s retired, which would be the third or fourth time. The other thing is, I do believe he has head injuries which will trouble him for the rest of his life, but I also believed he had them before his most recent AAA stint, where I watched him do a three month feud on taking hard shots to the head, so it’s hard to be sympathetic. This is the life he’s picked, and there’s some tradeoffs to it.

SoloLuchas also has an interview with Ogun, who enjoys being an indepedent. He’s going to have to enjoy being one for a long time, or get better.

Volador in TNA: Volador pinned Sonjay Dutt, lost to Jimmy Rave. Yes, Jimmy Rave. Sounds like Volador was a highlight of the match.

Accion
– CMLL’s highlights of Mistico’s return were oddly more Marco Corelone focused. They did show La Mistica.
– AAA had the Cibernetico/Zorro/Chessman three way from the Pena Memorial show. You’ll be shocked – Chessman fell off a high place onto a table, and the table does not break. Those are his mortal enemies, not Mesias.
– WWE – Jericho vs Batista in a cage, so at least they’re up to matches that happened this week. They don’t show the bolt spot, which was the story of the match. Oh well.

Arena Queretaro’s 11/19 show is canceled, though it sounds like they’re still selling tickets for it.

WagnerMania has a recap of Friday’s Arena Mexico show and an interview with Guadalajara undercard wrestler Frayle de la Muerte. They also have video of Dr. Wagner in trios action in Puebla and Fire vs Ultimo Dragoncito

Al Filo del Ring interviews Black Spirit. It’s kinda odd; Spirit has a Parka mask with different gear. Spirit denies he’s related to LA Park, only saying Park is his favorite. The author says Spirit is LA Park’s son and just doesn’t want to say it. Black Spirit hopes to feud with Turbo and eventually Dr. Wagner Jr.

SuperLuchas looks back at Ring Fujinama vs Canek.

LuchaWorld has Robert on CMLL FSE from August of 06, IWRG 06/08/07 and KrisZ’s news update.

WrestlingObserver has their AAA recap.

Lineup

CMLL (MON) 11/10 Arena Puebla
1) King Jaguar & Tiger Rojo vs Espiritu Maligno & Karisma
2) Asturiano, Centella de Oro, Legionario vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skandalo
3) Máscara Púrpura, Pegasso Extreme, Valiente vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Satánico
4) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone vs Atlantis, Lizmark Sr., Mr. Niebla
5) Rey Bucanero vs Dr. Wagner Jr. [CMLL LH]

Pegasso appears to be slotted as a regular here, so he may either be with CMLL or getting a shot to be in. Hopefully he’ll get a non-extreme name at some point. Meanwhile, in the main event, I don’t think it’s possible for CMLL to book a singles match between a person I irrationally like more than most and a person I irrationally hate like most. I think I’m going to be happy with the finish here.

indy (WED) 11/12 Salon Eclipse
1) Albatros, Astral, Fenix vs Cometa de Plata, Pequeno Saeta, Tigre Tatuado Jr.
2) Corazon de Fuego Jr. & Sexy Pantera vs Darketela & Valentin
3) Cripta & Lapida vs Black Danger & TIgre Tatuado
4) el Signo & El Signo Jr. vs As & As Jr.
5) Mini Skayde & Mini Volador vs Pentagoncito Black & Pierrothito

Only mentioned here because it’s “the show was headlined by Mini Skayde” is the new best possible answer to “what’s the smallest & most indy show that has been run?” However, this is not even the close to the most inexplicable lineup of the week.

indy (FRI) 11/14 Casa del Sol, Omaha, Nebraska, USA
1) Angel Sagrado & Metal vs Cachorro & Thriller
2) Lety Rivera vs Cheetara, Tigresa
3) Huracan Ramirez & Super Parka vs Corazón de Barrio & Pierko el Boricua

indy (SAT) 11/15 Club Casino, Schuyler, Nebraska, USA
1) Angel Sagrado & Metal vs Cachorro & Thriller
2) Lety Rivera vs Cheetara, Tigresa
3) Huracan Ramirez & Super Parka vs Corazón de Barrio & Pierko el Boricua

indy (SUN) 11/16 Barcelona Night Club, Kansas City, Missouri, USA
1) Angel Sagrado & Metal vs Cachorro & Thriller
2) Lety Rivera vs Cheetara, Tigresa
3) Huracan Ramirez & Super Parka vs Corazón de Barrio & Pierko el Boricua

Yes, lucha libre in NEBRASKA. I’ve spent a tiny bit of time in Nebraska and have no idea who would be going to these shows. Congrats to whoever talked someone else into booking these shows.

Toscano’s booked on Friday night in Arena Mexico and in Toluca for a Villalobos show. That’s not a hard call to make.

IWRG (FRI) 11/14 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon & Fenix vs Anubis & Shuriken
2) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
3) Fantasma Jr., Multifacético, Pendulo vs Capitán Muerte, Emilio Charles Jr., Fuerza Guerrera
4) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. vs Head Hunter I & Veneno [IWRG IC TAG]

CMLL (SUN) 11/16 Arena Coliseo
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Sombra de Plata vs Calígula & Méssala
2) Fabián el Gitano, Metálico, Starman vs Bronco II, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
3) Lluvia, Princesa Blanca, Sahori vs La Seductora, Mima Shimoda, Yezca
4) La Sombra, Mascara Dorada, Mictlán vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Blue Panther, Dr. Wagner Jr., Último Guerrero vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano V

I guess Dr. Wagner got over not teaming with Panther or UG (or no one reads the interviews.) Lluvia is the woman who just debuted in Puebla (claiming to be from DF, and worked in Emiliano Zapata in July, but with the recent talk about CMLL wanting to bring in more foreign women, there’s reason for skepticism.) Besides challenging Sujei for the most variant spellings, Yesca/Yezca/Yeska has showed up in seven matches, including Puebla last Christmas and the undercard of an AAA spot show this past September. That seems like the bottom of the women’s division barrel, and I wonder if they’ll flip that with the segunda, since there’s an actual feud going on there. Or maybe everything just gets shuffled after the title match gets added.

CMLL (SUN) 11/16 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thudner Boy vs Milenio
2) Idolo vs Danger (GDL)
3) El Lider vs Aseino Negro
4) Quazar, Samuari, Thunder Boy, Virgo vs Azael, Milenio, Neon, Relampago Azul
5) Máximo, Metatron, Rayman vs Angel Blanco Jr., Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X
6) Dos Caras Jr., La Máscara, Sagrado vs Lizmark Jr., Olímpico, Toscano

IWRG (SUN) 11/16 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon & Zatura vs Heavy Boy & Nemesis (IWRG)
2) Jack, Multifacético, Pendulo vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK-47, Oficial Fierro
3) Fuerza Guerrera vs Black Terry
4) Máscara Año 2000 & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. vs Arlequin & el Hijo del Pierroth
5) Solar I, Super Astro, Tinieblas Jr. vs Head Hunter I, Head Hunter II, Toxico (AAA)

I hope Nemesis turns on his parnter in anticpation of a new/old one coming in. Tercera may be a title match, if Black Terry is still champ at this point.

CMLL (SUN) 11/16 Arena Neza
1) Súper Comando vs Emperador, Ramstein, Artillero, Damian el Inmortal, Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II, Estruendo
2) Marcela & Sahori vs Amapola & Rosa Negra
3) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla, Toscano
4) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V vs Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

This is CMLL’s Scorpio Tribute show.

SuperLuchas says the NWA Mexico show is being pushed back a week as well.

9 thoughts to “11/09: AULL, IWRG, Azteca, lineup”

  1. I would be so happy about making deadline by 3 minutes (now I remember why I don’t check the boards on the weekend – just this alone takes forever) but of course AAA’s put up their results so I’ve got another post to do…

  2. Volador Jr. was def. one of the highlights of the X-Division Elimination Match tonight. he stole the show while he was in there.

  3. “Toscano’s booked on Friday night in Arena Mexico and in Toluca for a Villalobos show. That’s not a hard call to make.”

    *L* Exactly. He’ll just no-show both.:)

  4. If he got someone to team up with him as El Inspector Ardilla (aka Secret Squirrel), it’d be perfect. LOL.

  5. I can see why someone would bring Lucha Libre to Nebraska. America is changing, not just the big cities. Nebraska is well known for meat packing, and other industries dominated by Mexican workers.

  6. About these Midwest dates. Remember that guy I posted about claiming to be running joint shows in AAA last month in Iowa, Brian Blade? He and another guy who works as Eric Fantabulous are likely the ones behind these shows. I’ve heard the 11/16 date may actually be in Wichita.

  7. Well I was right, both were in involved in these shows. Sunday was in Wichita, Kanasa and they supposedly packed the house, drawing around a 1,000. I think the shows were taped for local tv in Omaha, not that anyone really cares ;).
