10/25: Mexico, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 10/24 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, ESTO, superluchas, la Aficion]
1) Calígula & Méssala vs Sensei & Sombra de Plata
2) Flash, Metalik, Stuka Jr. b Euforia, Loco Max, Skandalo
3) Hijo del Fantasma, Mictlán, Valiente b Olímpico, Sangre Azteca, Virus
4) Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Misterioso II DQ Averno, Mephisto, Terrible
5) Black Warrior, Blue Panther, Último Guerrero DQ Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V

Villanos dominated the first fall, but UG snuck a rollup on V5. During the second, Panther tried to punch V3, was stopped by the ref (no closed fist), and V3 kicked him low for the DQ. Laguneras want a rematch, again.

When forced to choose, Ephesto choose the two guys who ditched him to join Perros del Mal over his countrymen. The DQ in the semimain might have been for the turn, or might have been for a Terrible foul before the turn. Either way, it was another two fall match. Ephesto helped beat up his teammates after the match, and then strip them of their masks.

After the match, and backstage, Averno & Mephisto announced they were forming a new group with Ephesto, Terrible, and Texano Jr. No name was given. This sounds like Damian 666 and Mr. Aguila are going with Perro, but wait till we get to the lineups.

Sangre beat up Monito early on in the tercera and he was taken to the back, not to return.

indy (THU) 10/23 Arena Olimpico Laguna de Gomez Palacio [el siglo de torreon]
1) Camorra & Detector Jr. b Aguila Negra & New Warrior
2) Mascarita Maligna b Lobo del Aire and La Parkita
4) Angel de Oro, Sexy Piscis, Trueno b Dulce Paola, Guerrero Inca, Psycho
4) Blue Panther & Huracan Ramirez Jr. DQ Último Guerrero & Villano V

UG and V5 were fighting with each other by the time the third fall started. Villano V ended up fouling Panther, fouling Huracan and fouling Ultimo. That’s one way to do it. Challenges were made for Panther/UG vs V3/V5 in November. They said hair/mask but that’s not happening.

CMLL (TUE) 10/28 Arena Mexico
1) Pequeno Ninja & Shockercito vs Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Halloween
2) Marcela, Princesa Blanca, Sahori vs Hiroka, La Nazi, Medussa
3) Bronco III, Vangelis, Virus vs Máscara Púrpura, Máximo, Stuka Jr.
4) La Sombra, Sagrado, Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Satánico
5) Héctor Garza, La Máscara, Marco Corelone vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

CMLL (FRI) 10/31 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Metálico vs Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Mascarita Dorada, Nino de Acero, Tzuki vs Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., La Sombra, Misterioso II vs Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Texano Jr.
4) Black Warrior, Blue Panther, Último Guerrero vs Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V
5) Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero

Hey, look, DOS CARAS JR. Also, Mr. Aguila and Damian 666 on the undercard. I think what’s going on here, at least for the Perros, is Perro Jr. announced his departure a few weeks before anything was actually going to happen. Chui mentioned they showed a vignette of Mistico getting ready to return to the ring, and they probably would be doing Perro Jr. ones too if he was coming back to CMLL, so he had to put the word out this week that he was not. Still, everything’s got to be on hold until he’s healthy, because there’s no shows without him.

  1. Oh fuck right off, i’m sick to the teeth of barely ever having a Tuesday segunda any more. Those fucking useless women evidently have a monopoly on that spot now as well.

Absolutely unbelievable. The downright awesomeness of the mini Familia – the best thing CMLL’s got going for it today… pushed aside and dumped into the fucking opener to accomodate those untalented wastes of space. What kind of retarded asshole makes these sort of decisions?

Now that’s out of the way, it’s more grim reading. The only thing that looks in any way worthwhile next week, we can’t get access to. :(

CMLL is generally a waste of my time these days.

  2. The same one the women are screwing? Come on Henrik, it’s not that hard to figure out. And i’m sure the mini’s will air on Tuesday also.

  3. I think a group with Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto, Texano Jr and Terrible won’t work as a replacement for Perros del Mal. Maybe as a midcard group, but not as a Perro’s subsitute

  4. @Tim:
Yeah, i know. Sexual favours or family connections would appear to be the way to go if you’re shit and still want to make it in CMLL. It wouldn’t even be quite so bad if they were honest or just said nothing – but that “press release” a few months assuring fans that everyone is in on merit, and there is no nepotism and cronyism within CMLL, really did defy belief. What kind of fools do they take people for?

I’m just ranting as it pisses me off – the women have basically ravaged that segunda level spot since they walked through the door in 2005, having paid no dues whatsoever. With the tv coverage now and the card structure of pre-2005, guys like Neutron, Sombra, Polvora, Vaquero, Tigre Blanco, Los Romanos, Los Guillereros, Sensei etc would be on tv every 2nd week (and in previous years, Flecha, Jeque etc too) – and CMLL TV would be a whole better off for it. Not to mention the mini’s, although to be fair, they at least get a bit of a look-in nowadays.

If the mini’s from Tuesday do air, it will be awfully lucky because they haven’t shown a C3 opener for about a month, so i wouldn’t hold my breath.

  5. Look for news on Dos Caras Jr. signing with WWE next week. This time it will be for real, or will it?

  6. Oh jesus enough about Dos. We all know he won’t ever sign and I doubt Vince could even pick him out of a lineup.

And Henrik, you don’t remember the last time the Women had the segunda and the Mini’s had the opener? The mini’s aired and the Women didn’t. Especially with those women in the match that no one cares about.

  7. Wow, didn’t expect that type of reaction from you Henrik. I actually like the lineups. First thing first – I think the opening tag will air on Tuesday b/c that semi-main is gonna two falls and really short as it’s just an angle. So I wouldn’t worry too much.:) Tercera has 2 out of 3 good tecnicos and the semi should be fun while it lasts as it’ll be tecnicos vs tecnicos.

Friday looks AWESOME. I am sooooooooooooo stoked for the tercera! I have a feeling it’ll be on the level of those great Volador/Sombra/Purpura vs PdM B-Team matches from last week. And of course… TZUKI IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was worried there for a while.:/ Now I gotta go running around begging anyone at all to record GdR somehow.

Wow, you can actually see empty seats in the main camera shot for TV.:/ First fall of the tercera was actually great. Awesome finish to the second fall too! Earlier Azteca dropkicked Monito in the balls.:(

AAA results are up on their page. Pena tourney went as expected. So did the main as Konnan naturally won but it’ll be funny to see how the cripple escapes the cage. There is no way he managed to climb on his own. I don’t know you said there was no chance of this happening Cubs b/c Konnan has always loved mainstream press in Mexico. Now that he has another taste of it, he’s not about to give it up. When the press stops caring about the angle, Konnan will lose to someone thus ensuring they don’t get any elevation from the loss since by that point nobody will care.

  8. The hatred and misogyny toward the women has almost become cliche. We get it, Women belong in the kitchen and not a wrestling ring. Btw, Marcela is a better worker than most of the guys in the tercera.

  9. @Tim:

Well i’ll keep my fingers crossed. But even in the unlikely event it does air and even more unlikely, at the expense of the segunda, those prick bookers are still basically saying the women are ranked higher and are more worthy/valuable than the mini’s. The mini’s are undoubtedly the best asset CMLL has right now in terms of giving us some genuine entertainment value – you could even say they have carried the company. And yet they don’t even realise it.

Rob, for this Tuesdays semi i wouldn’t be surprised if they just forget whats been happening with the Fridays Lagunero angle and just have another bog-standard, tecnico v rudo mailed in Tuesday shot. This is CMLL after all.

I would at least be a little positive if they didn’t throw away what will undoubtedly be the best match of the week onto a tv show on a channel which no-one gets :(

  10. Yes the Mini’s are the best thing about CMLL right now. But this is still wrestling and mini’s will always be known as undercard guys that mean nothing in the long run. The rank goes Minis, Women, men. Sad but true.

With that said, I hope Virus destroy’s Maximo and sends him to AAA where he belongs.

  11. One guy at elmartinete is saying that Dr Morales’s column @ Record talks about CMLL cutting their wrestlers’ salaries by half, besides cutting of several members(indys?), Wagner is surely the first guy to go since he is in the same situation as Santito 2 years back.

CMLL should be really desperate, they’re airing the ‘tico video, and he was not even using sports clothes for the clips, it seems they just went into panic and asked him to pose in the gym.

Thinking better about it, the earlier he comes back, the earlier he’ll be gone again, so, if they bring him back next week, I’ll be pretty happy.

  12. Not nice to wish injury on anyone.

I’m not buying Dragon Rojo Jr. as a tecnico based on this match. He has no offense and everything he is doing seems forced.

  13. I never said I was/am nice. Besides, I never wished him or anyone an injury, is just waiting the unavoidable.

  14. @Rob:
    Nice!

No Flash? he doesn’t bust out that running springboard somersault plancha often, i wanted to see it!

  15. They showed a running springboard armdrag from Flash to set up Neutron’s dive but that’s it.

  16. Does this Resumen Semenal show still air and does it show opener highlights? I know the last few times i saw it, they started from the segunda :(

  17. Pretty weird that in “Proxima Semana” the announcer said “Mascara Dorada”, who’s that? Sombra’s new gimmick? Misterioso’s?

  18. @xuisaw:
You think they’ll maybe air the minis segunda instead of the tercera??!

I never pay attention to that segment as i always got the impression that it was just bullshit – but i can’t remember actually paying much attention over a long period of time to confirm. Is the proxima semana segment actually pretty accurate as to what will air the following week?

  19. I didn’t catch the first half hour of CMLL, but from sololuchas and some comments, it seems they gave TINGUIRICHOS (who knows who they are… well, some “Durangense” dudes) air time, as they performed in “the sacred” ArMex ring, even worse, I couldn’t understand from last night radio show but it seems that the commentary guys were saying that these TINGUIRICHOS guys actually had more fans than CMLL itsef… scary.

  20. There you go Henrik – you’ll get a possibly good Flash match on TV. Next Sunday will have Stuka, Flash and Purpura against Euforia, Nosferatu and Virus which is in the FSE TV slot as it’s third up.

Dare I say it? Arena Coliseo Tag Title match coming up?

  21. Chui may have been onto something as the CMLL Hi5 page says Mascarita Dorada has a surprise coming up. Big version?

  22. So then, these new guy might show up but probably won’t wrestle, therefore, he’s not in the lineups.

  23. If it means they have to air the mini’s to show this guy coming out to make his special appearnece then it works for me. I won’t hold my breath though. Let the begging to find someone to tape GdR in two weeks… BEGIN!

  24. Man that CMLL main event was bad. I haven’t watched the main show in weeks and I don’t see a reason to for a while. Poor Ultimo Guerrero.

  25. Romero and Casas actually won a match in Japan today, not a tournament match though. they beat Liger and Nobuo Yoshihashi.
