    I like the segunda/tercera. Nice mix of guys. Of course this could be the end of Goddess in CMLL (and Mexico hopefully) so it should be memorable.

    I guess I’ll still buy my new mp3 player but feel even more guilty now. I bet Cubs feels worse though. My team has gone 40 years so I can sort of relate.

    It’s not fair though. How many teams does the state of California have these days? 15? 16? Fredo has too many teams to support.

  4. They should have put Corleone over for the belt a long time ago. I personally believe he is a better spokesman for the company than Dos.

    Marco gets love in the clubs, malls, restaurants and everywhere else. He speaks decent spanish and is mask-less. These plus his physical attributes make him a good poster boy for CMLL

  5. I was thinking about 2Caras at the Florida Championship Wrestling show tonight. He’ll definitely work there for a little while as WWE gets him ready for WWE style. He should be professional and lose the title.

  6. they’ll want Dos ready quick, especially since he’s basically a replacement Mysterio. and it would seem that WWE has decided to rip right from WCW with Mysterio in this half mask match, where if he loses he loses his mask and if he wins he gets to keep his mask. that company is so backwards. i guess McMahon figures that since he paid Rey boatloads of money to change the spelling of his name and wear a mask again, he can pay him boatloads to lose his mask again. though i really dont think WWE is stupid enough to have Rey drop his mask to Kane. yes, stranger and stupider things have happened, but i still dont see it happening. even if Dos really is coming into the company, he should drop his second mask to a deserving opponent, even if it is a bogus stip match.

  7. As long as kids are buying the Rey mask, and buying shirts with that image, I don’t see him losing it.

    Yeah, they’ll want Dos quick. I just wish he would’ve lost the title in the ring.

  8. @Peter Porker: I think they just don’t trust the foreigners. Marco, Alex, and Sarah really should be or should’ve been big pushed title holders but the men can’t get programs as tecnicos and they totally missed the moment on Dark Angel.

    And that doesn’t even cover the other (white) foreigners who’ve tried to break into there and haven’t been given a chance – only Mascara Purpura (because of family) and Grey Shadow (either someone’s project, or seen as conduit to Japan) can seem to get regular bookings.

  11. @thecubsfan: Purpura seems like he’d be a great heel. I just don’t see him as foreign even though he was born in the US. Kind of like Shocker I guess. But really, I’d like to see Purpura get a heel push. He has a cockiness about him.

    And why was Dos Caras holding a heavyweight title when there really are no heavyweights (save for Corelone, Wagner and a few others) in CMLL?

  16. @thecubsfan: I agree that the office has little faith in foreigners, probably because of Vampiro for starters. Also, they are looking for the next Mistico a.k.a the next home grown star. It’s too bad because every week Marco is in a magazine or interviewed on TV. All on his own merit.

    I think CMLL’s probably with Purpura is a) his physique and b) his gimmick.

    Grey Shadow seemingly only works Coliseo shows. But like you said is valuable because of his Japanese contacts.

    Okumura and Ohara may as well be Mexican, since they’ve dropped all existence or puroresu in their styles.
