extremely tentative plans for this week

Wednesday – news will be postponed until sometime in the evening
Thursday – Anniversary preview
Friday – Anniversary coverage/chat?
Saturday – results from the CHIKARA show in Streamwood (live results will be over on thecubsfan.com but talked about here)
throughout the week – all the recaps I should’ve done already, maybe other stuff I’ve promised, maybe stuff I haven’t promised

And I write this full expecting to be informed Friday afternoon that I have to be somewhere Friday night. Here’s hoping I’m wrong.

Off to get some of that work done…

09/15: Coliseo

Mascara Purpura, a second before busting Virus’ forehead/CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 09/14 Arena Coliseo [cmll]
1) Arkangel & Pólvora b Molotov & Trueno
2) Euforia, Hooligan, Nosferatu b Fabián el Gitano, Hijo del Faraon, Metálico
3) Leono, Máscara Púrpura, Tony Rivera b Loco Max, Skandalo, Virus
4) Alex Koslov, Grey Shadow, La Máscara b Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Texano Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, La Sombra b Averno, Black Warrior, Mephisto

Panther’s on form, beating Avenro clean here. Alex replaced Valinete. Mascara Purpura has new gear (flipped colors) and busted Virus open something fierce. Hooligan continues to be on “replace Halcon Negro” duty. Arkangel replaced Semental, and the CMLL recaped mused about Polvora someday joining the Tuareg. Polvora can do better.

IWRG (SUN) 09/14 Arena Naucalpan [Ovaciones]
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., el Hijo Del Anibal, Multifacético b Fuerza Guerrera, Head Hunter I, Veneno

ESTO has a profile of Princesa Sujei, who wants to take the title and the hair from Marcela, and the mask from Goddess before sending her back to Canada (“I don’t even know what she is doing here.”)

SoloLuchas has an interview with Acuarius, who’s training in CMLL.

Victor recapes the FSE show. Luchaworld has Robert writing about AAA in Toluca in ’06.

Anyways, what a better way to open up a TV show then with – *20 MINUTES OF GREAT MINI’S ACTION*!

That ain’t happening in AAA anytime soon.

– Three way should explain what’s going on for the title for the next three months.

– Psycho Circus stepping up in competition.
– If the Sect/Dark Family is going to be moved up, we should know it after that match.
– Super Fly/Electro has been built for a while.
– Are they just going to change the mixed tag team to Fabi & Gran Apache or are they setting up another break up?
– mystery mini rudo = Mini Chessman?

Mexico: 09/21, 09/28
US: 10/11, 10/18

There are quick notes on each match at the link, and this may get updated when more details come in.

In the title match, it was Mesias distracting Chessman to help Cibernetico retain there title. In the cage match, the Sect ran in anyway (so much for that cage), but turned on Mesias. My guess is they’re headed to a reunited Dark Family (Chessman + the Sect), and Mesias flipping to the tecnico side to balance it out, but it’s not definite yet. You’d think giving Vampiro the win would mean they’ve got more plans for him, but he doesn’t seem to have an obvious dance partner with this feud resolved. (Maybe Konnan or Zorro?)

A rudo team won the tag team belts, but not HF2 as I was hoping, but the Hermandad. Lider is the first two time champ, and this can only lead to even more matches with the Mexican Powers. I believe FdT won the titles in this same building, which is a weird coincidence (or a sign about how many buildings they’re running?)

X-Pac’s work visa was apparently good enough to work Sunday but iffy to work Friday? Or AAA doesn’t care? Or, as presumed previously, it was just a cover story for something else? X-Pac was with the rudos last time he was here (and even counting his post match appearance back at TripleMania), so this doesn’t make a lot of sense. Super Fly did accompany the tecnicos to the ring. Edit: other reports have Super Fly wrestling and X-Pac running in after. Edit 2: AAA says tecnicos won, Legion attacked them post match (again), and X-Pac made the save.

You know, X-Pac has been pretty tight with the Torch in the past. This is totally out of their space, but I bet they know what the actual deal is here.

I think we’re calling Mini Charly Manson the first AAA World Minis Champion unless AAA makes a compelling case elsewise. (My guess is AAA doesn’t care what we call him, as long as we call him champ.)

That’s Porky finally getting a win in the segunda. I wish Porky pinning Brazo there means the end to the feud, but surely they’ll be dragging it out three months months for a really bad hair match.

Fabi Apache’s errant chair shot caused her family to lose the tag titles, so there’s going to be yet more drama in the family.

Next taping is….uh. There was one announced on TV, right? I can’t find it.
