09/07: Scorpio, IWRG, Neza

After he recovers, Scorpio Jr. is going back to AAA. I guess near death caused everyone to examine their positions. Probably sucks to be Escorpion Negro, was barely on screen with the group and surely can be bumped right back out. I suspect Zumbido’s still trying to get in to CMLL but who knows at this point.

IWRG (THU) 09/04 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLuchas #280]
1) Eragon b Anubis
2) Jack & Miss Gaviota b Epidemia & Heavy Boy
3) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Fantasma de la Ópera b Fenix, Freelance, Turbo
4) Emilio Charles Jr., Septiembre el Terrorista, Veneno b Aeroman, Mano Negra, Ultramán Jr.
5) Intocable, Mano Negra, Multifacético DQ El Dandy, Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo del Cien Caras

This was the main event where Head Hunter ran in to debut for the group and attack the tecnicos. Dr. Cerbero still wants a shot at Freelance’s title

ENESMA (FRI) 09/05 Arena Neza [LuchandoLibre, Sololuchas: 5, 6]
1) ?, Principe Celeste, Super Insecto b Luis Cirio, Sobredosis, Tony Cirio
2) Mini Cibernetico & Mini Scorpio b ? & Mascartia de Plata
3) Flor Metalica & Josseline b Chola & Lady Warrior
4) Fantastik, Principe Azteca, Turbo b Black Thunder, King Haku, Suicida
5) Canek Jr., Huracan Ramirez, Ultraman Jr. b Cazador, Lasserman, Toxico
6) Blue Demon Jr., Intocable, Rayo de Jalisco Jr. b Enfermo Jr., Gran Markus, Hijo de Gran Markus

Rudos tried to assault the tecnicos with bottles in the main event, but the commission put the ixnay on that. The White Wave rudo team appears to be locals ‘borrowing’ the names. Semimain was built around a teased Canek Jr. rudo turn and feud with Huracan, though their team still won. No big surprise CMLL pulled their women from this show – Martha’s group contributed the replacement match and the minis.

Today’s Ovaciones articles preview today’s Coliseo and Naucalpan’s matches and Tuesday’s title cibernetico.

Box Y Lucha posted a bunch of articles from the last edition
interview with Trueno (early 90s), who’s a baliff now, with a couple new details for the wiki. There’s also a bio of Zeuxis, a young women’s wrestler, when she’s not working as a paramedic.
– An interview with Mictlan notes he didn’t seem all that upset with losing his mask. On the other hand, Amapola‘s list of excuses for why she lost (everything up to “the sun was in my eyes”) seems a bit more believable. Mictlan seemed to be happy to be moving onto what’s next.
Satanico shares his memories of La Monarca, and Villano III talks about a long days journey with La Monarca, capped with fighting each other in a title match that went for an hour.
Cibernetico says he rather concentrate on wrestling than do movies. Anything we can do to change this? How about a remake of Scarface? This article reads like “no one’s offering me movies, so let me make it clear that I’m only not doing them because of I have such passion for the sport.”
Felino says no one was really begging him to stay tecnico and all his biggest successes were as a rudo, so why not go back to being the “true Felino.” Not that it is necessarily binding, but Felino’s already being listed as a member of Pesta Negra for shows later month.

Accion had CMLL’s main event (looked ordinary, if that) and AAA’s main event from Solidardad (completely tecnico domination until Cibernetico randomlly decides to attack Chessman, which leads to Chessman attacking him and basically forfieting the match.)

la Wagnermania posted video of a four way A href=http://www.lawagnermania.com/2008/09/lucha-en-jaula-desde-torreon.html>LA Park, Wagner, Solitario, Demon cage match from Wagner Promotion’s 07/26 show. Another TVC Deportes broadcast.

TabascoHoy talks to luchadore/lucha libre writer El Noruego.

Notimex history of el Toreo article.

SuperLuchas #280 has lots, including photos of Super Calo after his loss to Intocable in the 10 man hair/mask cage match last week. Calo’s hair looks trimmed a little but not much more – they note he left without really getting cut. They also show the “Texas Rangers” who lost in a cage match in Monterrey last week, and he also barely had his hair cut. Meanwhile, I watched a little bit of CMLL on FSE today, and Amapola is frighteningly bald two days after losing her hair. I guess we know who’s tougher (or maybe just who has to come back to the same building the next week and who’s never coming planning on coming back…)

Guerreros del Ring #156 has the SexiCools, with actual third member Toscano.

Screwed the location up. Sleepy.

Well, there’s a main event tecnico side sure to fail. No regular NWA wrestlers here, which I guess makes sense for an NWA territory. I dunno if this is going to draw any better, and it probably won’t, but I’m just impressed at them getting to show 2 (not counting the one Demon declared as an NWA show after the fact.)

I’m sure I’m missing stuff, and will do my best to catch back up this week.

  1. I’m the only one who thought for a second that NWA had rented ArMex(as seen in another thread). LOL

I saw lots of ads on Univision this weekend for Cristina with AAA has guests. Airs tonight at 10pm, and features Ciber, el Elegido showing hidden tattoos, etc………..

  2. Hidden tattoos?

Hmmm… I wonder which repeat of Seinfeld is airing at that time.

Gotta love the episode that goes backwards in time.

“I’ll put it in the vault.”
“No good, too many people know the combo!”

  3. No. The news was that TVC would also be announced. Or that Televisa, Azteca, and TVC were all part of it. This is now saying it’s just Televisa.

I just read the Steve Sims stuff in WON on Paco and the HOF. Funny. Really.

  4. Azteca 7 already announced Smackdown for Oct 3rd onwards, and since last week it was known Televisa was airing RAW taped.

  5. I begged Felino to stay technico, but he didn’t hear me.

I have a feeling Ciber will turn heel again.

  6. I doubt Zumbido will make it to CMLL, it seems that Shocker left because CMLL didn’t picked him up to reform Guapos and if Scorpy is headed back to AAA, then Zumbido might follow… and maybe even Super Calo.

It doesn’t look as much but CMLL also has had some guys leaving, Shocker, Toscano, Dos Caras Jr (?), Halloween, with Aguila and Damian willing but not being reached in terms of $$$, Eclipse (ha!), Dinamitas… LA Park, Hijo del Santo and Wagner went away and returned, but is in a shaky situation, he could be gone any time. Will be interesting the last part of the year when Aguayo gets back and is pressured too lose his hair…
