09/06: Mexico, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 09/05 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Superluchas, ovaciones]
1) Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Skandalo b Angel de Oro, Flash, Stuka Jr.
2) Máximo, Metalik, Valiente b Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Virus
3) La Máscara, Mictlán, Sagrado DQ Damián 666, Dragon Rojo Jr., Mr. Águila
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Marco Corelone DQ Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero
5) Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Volador Jr. b Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Negro got carried out after the main event, with Dos and Volador pinning Metal and Casas. Lizmark got sick of Marco Corelone being Marco Corelone and fouled him – twice. Dragon Rojo fouled Micltan.

CMLL (TUE) 09/09 Arena Mexico
1) Astro Boy & Sensei vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Goddess, Marcela, Sahori vs Amapola, Princesa Sujei, Rosa Negra
3) Pequeño Olímpico vs Tzuki, Shockercito, Nino de Acero, Mini Lizmark, Cosmico, Bracito de Oro, Pierrothito, Pequeño Damian 666, Fire, Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Universo 2000 [ciber, MEX LIGHT]
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Sagrado vs Damián 666, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) La Sombra, Marco Corelone, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Rey Bucanero

the greatest promotion IN THE WORLD. Two mini titles and/or a backdoor to bringing people up to the main roster, it’s great either way. They say this is the first elimination, and it’s not clear if that means the final two advance or there’s 12 more men next week, (hopefully Loco Max types for a MINI vs NOT MINI finale.) I’m unreasonably excited about this.

CMLL (FRI) 09/12 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Astro Boy vs Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Goddess, India Sioux, Princesa Blanca vs Hiroka, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei
3) Máximo, Metalik, Mictlán vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Misterioso II
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Marco Corelone vs Lizmark Jr., Mr. Niebla, Olímpico
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Accidental hilarity
– they can’t even find another Villano to face Blue Panther the week before the mask match!
– they can’t even find Rey Bucanero to put him on the card so they can at least talk about his title match
– the point of Wagner/Niebla was….

I don’t care, they’re giving me another minis title. And they do at least have the CMLL Trios champs in a warmup match, though they’ve really got to win with V5 getting involved, right?

  1. I’m not in a bad mood at all. I just don’t think Jack is the best thing about AAA. He is better than Teddy but that should go without saying.

  2. Jack and Teddy seem more about hitting their spots than actually having good matches. Just my opinion though.

  3. I thought it was a decent match but it obvious they setting up more matches between the two and they were probably told to slow it down and have Jack get in more shots.

I thought today show was pretty good. AAA been putting on pretty good shows this year. How can a drug infested lockerroom with many cliques be so consistent while the other company can’t pull a good show out their ass?

  4. My friend actually had the best quote about the Vamp situation…

“Why doesn’t Vamp just get his Guardian Angels buddies to start patrolling backstage, since it’s obviously a hotbed of criminal activity?”

  5. I think it was fine for what it was meant to do, put Evans as the evil foreigner, usually they’ll just have 2 or 3 minutes of action in their multimen tags, and here somehow they stretched to 12 minutes or more, so I guess I understand Robert who would rather have a 2 minute match with 3 highspots.

I was also thinking about CMLL using a Momentos clip from January… was there no “Estelares” from the Sin Piedad show?

  6. SoloLuchas has an interview with Scorpio Jr. where he says he’s coming back to AAA when he’s healthy again.

  7. I’m not really surprised, IWRG seems to be in trouble, I think they were “bluffing” with the Azteca deal and a lot of things which apparently have not materialized, so Guapito comes off as a very bright dude when he said “maybe I would get better paid the first few months, but later, it would be trouble”.

OTOH, I think Naucalpan was or is a better place for Scopy since he can get by traveling less, but who knows… I hope at least he gets paid more by AAA this time, I mean, if it happens, we can be in another Guapito like soap opera!!

  8. Fill me in on the gossip. Did Cad Tres really air without commentary again? What did CMLL air on Televisa?
Anyone getting excited about Villano vs. Panther in less than two weeks?

  9. C3 seems to have a problem as some get it w/ commentary and some don’t. Something about analog/digital. I saw w/ commentary, lots of people on the boards said they had nothing.

CMLL had 2, 4 and 5 from Friday.

    Nope.

  10. It looks as if CT uses one channel for commentary and the other for crowd audio, but some channels (and internet feeds) apparently are mono and only use one speaker, not mixing the signal. FSE has had that problem of no commentary, but I even remember once they mentioned it with a news ticker saying they’re having technical difficulties with the audio, it has happened twice over here, although maybe they fixed it for the US version.

How is anyone gonna be getting excited if VV is not even wrestling?

  11. Thanks. I really can’t figure out the C3 problem. MVS does it for them, and MVS has never aired w/o commentary.

I’m getting excited about the Anniversary show.

I think it’s pathetic that NWA Mexico is running ArMex, and ever more pathetic b/c Santo is not allowed in the venue.

  12. @xuisaw: You’re supposed to use one channel for audio, one for commentary. When you don’t, you’re fucked like AAA was when they did the “Best of Triplemania”. ECW even had this problem early on, until they started taping the right way.

So you don’t think I should go to Anniversary? Not worth it? I can change my plans and go the week of the NWA show and the “Fan Fest”.

  13. It’s Juan de la Barrera, not ArMex.

Yep, I know they have to record it that way, but it is better if they do the mix, many tv sets down here don’t support stereo, and even some channels, I think Gala doesn’t have stereo because I only use one earplug in my laptop and it comes off fine, the feed in CT yesterday didn’t sound right, but maybe I missed the other plug…

FSE has had that problem and they’re done be MVS as well.

There was one CMLL main show where the mix was so bad that you could hear the commentary guys doing play by play to a taped Coliseo match but the sound of the intros going on live was as loud or louder.

If you are already set to go, do it, I mean, 10 years from now you’ll be able to say you went to it even if it doesn’t turn out to be great, it bugs me that CMLL at the end had to depend on TNA and out of nowhere XPac to put up a “megacard”, but who knows how it will look in the future.

It’s pretty expensive by local standards, but maybe that’s not saying much compared to what other guys charge, so…

  14. I’m not happy with the lineup now. I really like the format of minis, mujures, hot stip match, etc….on the show. I won’t see them until Coli on Sunday, or ArMex on Tuesday. No way the mujeres and minins are not working any shows when I’m down there.

Anniversary looks like it will deliver a good workrate show, but I really like the old format described above.

  15. @xuisaw: There have been very few problems with audio on CMLL in the US.

Once again, I can’t get my girlfriend to watch CMLL, but she sure loves the never ending saga of the Apache family on AAA. If there are problems in AAA, it’s not showing up on their tv product, and ability to captivate an audience.

  16. BTW, guys are basing AAA now for having Chessman turning on Ciber (or the other way around) saying it’s a rip-off from the Aguayo-Garza split… yeah right, I mean, Ultimo Guerrero picked up that pin with feet on ropes from the WWE and now AAA has to copy PdM.

  17. Meh… the ByL guys are also trying to claim AAA is the first company to ever have a no-show so why really care what they think.

The bias in that forum is mind-boggling.
