No Abismo Negro.

Chessman was the surprise AAA entrant to the main event and won the whole thing. Cibernetico offered a handshake after the match, but Chessman wasn’t interested. Konnan and Head Hunter were the Legion surprise and the replacement for Zorro, in some order.

Ultimo Gladiador replaced Juvi, who’s probably still with NWE.

Looks like the AAA Minis deal is a regular tournament. They actually had these matchups in their web preview, but I didn’t realize they meant it.

Upcoming tapings
– 07/25 Queretaro
– 08/08 ???

  1. Looking forward to seeing EVERYTHING on this taping. I suspect the first two matches will be cut (first for sure will be) since the main had 5 minute intervals which means it went at least 40. But with editing you can probably shorten that.

I wonder if Ciber vs Chessman happens in Madero or if that’s the September main for Verano. Also interesting to see which way they go. Both stay tecnicos but with different groups or one goes rudo… probably Chessman.

Juventud was never scheduled here as far as I read.

Mini’s title tournament just got a lot more interesting. I hope they do singles matches in the semis as well to set up a big final which at this points looks to be Octcito vs Mini Abismo which could be GOLDEN.

I’m worried about the 80% building capacity reports. Since when can’t AAA sellout Solidaridad for a TV taping? Isn’t it only a 4,000 capacity?

  2. @Rob: Wasn’t there a big exhibition soccer game in Monterrey on Sunday? I think Coliseo MTY is in a great location because it’s just two blocks from the Metro. When I went, I took the 805(bus) to the Metro, and it was convenient. I spent time walking around the neighborhood, ate at Domino’s, and even went in the club of the boxing promoter who was doing boxing at Coliseo.

Yes, Soli and Coliseo are smaller than reported. Coli holds 1,450 assigned ringside seating. General Admission is whatever they squeeze in upstairs, which is no more than another 3,000 and that’s generous.

  3. @Rob: If I am a betting man Chessman goes rudo and Konnan tries to recruit him into the Legion or Mesias tries to bring him back with his old comrades in the Secta. I for one see a Chessman rudo turn coming.
