AAA rumored departure list

I’m writing about these rumors on a near daily basis and can’t keep track of them. I don’t know how any reading the site is doing, but I thought it might be easier if I stopped joking about adding people to a list and actually wrote it out.

Those who have left
– Fuerza Guerrera (indy)
– Rossy Moreno (indy, Guerreras women’s group)
– Martha Villalobos (indy, Guerreras women’s group) & associated wrestlers
– Mr. Niebla (CMLL)
– Super Calo (indy)
– Scorpio Jr. (indy)
– Zumbido (indy -> CMLL?)
– Monsther (indy), Chucky I (out due to injury?)

Those who have been let go
– May Flowers
– Rey Cometa (you’re fired/I quit situation)

Those who have left, then changed their minds and are staying
– Decnnis
– Guapito

Those who have been rumored to leave and are no longer on AAA shows
– Intocable (AULL show has not happened yet, so could still pull a Decnnis)
– Abismo Negro (????)
– Pegasso (just need to read the Box Y Lucha article, I think)

Those who have been rumored to leave, but are still on AAA TV
– Histeria (contacted by CMLL, staying?)
– Psicosis II (contacted by CMLL, staying?)
Sexi Star (contracted by CMLL?, staying)
– Elegido (varying stories)

Anyone before Fuerza and May are probably not related to the current situation (which appears to be 90% disappointment in pay.) Those two are just barely. I don’t want to include Latin Lover here, because it’s an entirely different situation.

Is this the whole list? Anyone I’ve forgot?

  1. I think he’s right.

Didn’t Pimpinela also announce she was going back to be an indy worker? Can’t remember where I read it but I remember it b/c I made fun of the fact she is such a horrible wrestler these days.

  2. @Rob: you’re going to anger the Yuriko supporters.

Cassandro’s always seemed to be on his own indy schedule, including working with Santo’s groups, so I don’t think his not being around is related to the current uproar (though the whole exotico feud being derailed is an argument the other way.)

I presumed Chris Stone left, but the only source on that was me and I don’t count. Chris has still been working shows for AAA since, just not tapings. If last night’s Xalapa results turn up, that’ll be a good indicator about his status, because there were plenty of guys listed who won’t be there.

Pimpi working the US AAA shows means to me he’s AAA as much as anyone else.

  3. Cassie was here in Nvo Laredo working the 4 Caminos shows, and will probably be back once the tour ends, May Flowers seems to be working AAA’s spot shows also (in Piedras Negras at least). Monsther has not been in AAA tv since, like 2006 so I wouldn’t count him part of the “current uproar”, neither Rey Cometa Jr who always was in and gone for periods since like 2001, most of them during Peña’s days. It seems that the only guys who actually left are Zumbido, Scorpio, Niebla and Intocable, and the others were not used (i.e. fired) and kind of got the spotlight from the media to bash AAA, Martha and Co was not being used at all unless once per year for the Reinas tourney.

BTW, Night Queens were in last week’s show, they cut a promo saying they’re happy their… people was now accepted after years of discrimination, and Jessy said “I’m not like them, but I support their cause” or something among those lines.

Sexy Star was also rumored, Rivera said CMLL contacted her, and has also said that it was not true that Elegido (and Abismo) went to CMLL.

  4. Didn’t even think to check the AAA lineups for Pimpi, just checked to see her last TV appearence which was April in a throwaway match.

Saying Rey Cometa wasn’t a part of AAA is quite the stretch. He was regularly associated with La Fuerza Aerea and c’mon… he’s in the friggin’ TV opener every week. When it was filmed it was noted AAA only put people in the clips who were regulars so they wouldn’t have tossed him in just b/c he happened to be around. You’re grasping to defend AAA on this one.

  5. Antifaz del Norte is also in the opener… just because he happened to be hanging around. El Angel, Dizzy, Hombre sin Miedo and many others had been said to be part of “La Fuerza Aerea”.

  6. I’m gonna have to disagree here Chui. There isn’t a single person who didn’t associate Rey Cometa with La Fuerza Aerea. He was a regular since late 2005. HSM made like 2 appearences. Dizzy appeared on TV one time in Janaury 2006. How can you possibly say Cometa was on their level?

  7. Well, considering that many guys recalled when Cometa said that “guys in CMLL steal my moves” when who said that was actually Aerostar helps my point…

  8. I honestly don’t even know how to continue arguing this. Where else did Rey Cometa work besides in AAA since late 2005? I mean… I don’t know. Someone help me out here.

Is Lizmark Jr. a part of CMLL? He’s only been on like 4 Arena Mex shows this year.

  9. I don’t remember a time when Rey Cometa was not a member of La Fuerza Aerea for the past two years. He was usually made captain whenever La Fuerza Aerea were in the opening match.

  10. So I think the AAA PPV is in English and only on cable, not satellite.

Makes sense since the US AAA promoter lives in NYC, and can take a short subway ride to the InDemand offices to close the deal.

It should air in both languages. We’ll see what happens.

  11. The spot says “events in demand” which is In Demand which is exclusively cable. Maybe they did clear satellite and have yet to post their ad for Direct and Dish.

  12. I thought Elegido and Intocable was talking to EMLL along with Zumbido, who originally jumped from there?
