AAA #836 (06/07)

taped 05/02, aired in the US on 06/07

This show peaked with Alebrije offering to trade his tag team title belt for his mini friend.

This was really the unannounced end of things. Abismo came back for this match, and hasn’t been back since. The end of Intocable, which took a while to take actually confirm and might get reversed in less time than it takes for me to post these things. The end of the Hell Brothers trio – Charly got hurt before the next taping, and it sure doesn’t look like Chessman and Cibernetico are going to keep things together until ’09.

The only thing going the opposite way, the only welcome back is AAA’s female division. This is the start of a three week run for people who don’t happen to be named Apache to actually make TV. (Not that the Apache people aren’t lso good.)

If Zorro beating Mesias was supposed to get Zorro over as the legitimate top contender, they probably should’ve had him come close to winning the match at some point. I think I could go a long way without any more rudo/rudo matches, and I know plenty more are coming.

Opener is below just so we can all treasure the fine editing work.

  1. Wow I must have blinked b/c I totally missed that editing gaffe the first time around.

I thought that opener was *INCREDIBLE* though. Some really difficult spots hit perfectly and I am really really REALLY liking these Pirata kids. They have no chance of escaping their current position since they’re Mexican but at least they can take over for Los Diabolicos it seems when it comes to being great bases for the flying tecnicos. The finish with the quadrople submissions wasn’t done 100% perfect but the concept was really neat.

    Other quick thoughts:

    – Aero Star’s no-hands Silver King dive is insane. What will be his next no-hands dive?

    DOH.

I just realized I’ve been commenting on the match you sent me and not the match reviewed here that I haven’t seen yet. OOF.

I will make this post worthwhile by saying the Gato Eveready on the 5/26 taping was Alan, ex/current Barrio Boy.

    TAKE THAT!

  2. @Tim: No, but I think I still have this show on my TiVo, so I’ll rip it and post it sometime this weekend.
