06/28: Mexico, lineup

CMLL

CMLL (FRI) 06/27 Arena Mexico [ovaciones, ESTO]
1) Bam Bam & Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Warrior & Pierrothito
2) Hijo del Fantasma b Diamante Negro, Vangelis, Skandalo, Bronco II, Puma King, Tiger Kid, Hijo del Faraon, Axel, Metalik, Astro Boy, Angel Azteca [cibernetico, Gen75]
3) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Terrible, Villano V b Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Shocker
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Héctor Garza, Místico DQ Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Rudos got DQed for yanking Wagner’s mask off in the first…and in the second. At least they had a plan. They’re pushing Wagner/Niebla strong.

Order of elimination was Tiger Kid, Astro Boy, Puma King, Angel Azteca Jr., Bronco, Hijo del Faraon (“eager but erratic”), Vangelis, Axel, and Metalik. Hijo de Fantasma beat Diamante Negro to take it cibernetico. I was close! I wonder if they shuffled up the teams, or if Diamante really went 1 on 3 to end that.

Arturo Rivera says Abismo Negro and Elegido have NOT visited CMLL’s offices looking for work, and praises the midcarders in Arena Cuarto Caminos de Nuevo Laredo.

All the tickets for Sunday’s AAA Taping are being reissues and people who paid the higher prices are supposed to get their money returned. The ticker sellers are blaming the local promoter (the PRI policiatal party of all things), and vice versa, but everyone seems to agree AAA had nothing to do with it.

On Friday, Ovaciones noted Okumura will be out for an extended time due to a broken clavicle. He suffered it Tuesday against Fabian, trying to catch Fabian’s Asai Moonsault. Something like that was bound to happen.

CMLL (TUE) 07/01 Arena Mexico
1) Sensei & Tigre Blanco vs Artillero & Zayco
2) Goddess, Luna Mágica, Sahori vs Hiroka, La Nazi, Medussa
3) Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Valiente vs Diamante Negro, Misterioso II, Virus
5) Marco Corelone, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero

All tickets are 30 pesos for this show.

CMLL (FRI) 07/04 Arena Mexico
1) Angel de Oro & Hijo del Faraon vs Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Shockercito & Tzuki vs Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Violencia
3) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Sagrado vs Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero
4) Volador Jr. vs Alex Koslov, La Máscara, Stuka Jr., Felino, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Ohara, Averno, Mephisto, Ephesto [LdP, ciber, sf]
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Héctor Garza, Místico vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Main is a rematch.

The start of the Leyenda de Plata is oddly timed – this means three straight weeks with ciberneticos – but must be setting up for down the road. No word if Mistico is supposed to defend his LdP title again this year. That tecnico side seems outgunned.

Angel de Oro is yet another Laguna guy who worked in IWRG for a couple weeks earlier this year.

  1. The Torneo wasn’t tecs vs rudos last night, they did it traditional style with a battle royale to split the teams up. SoloLuchas has the entire rundown of who went out via whom. Surprised Metalik lasted till the final 3…

Tuesday’s show looks good once again. Poor Tigre Blanco… he’s with guys that I thought were way below his level but I guess not. Mini’s should be great of course and that semi looks like tons of fun if they don’t mail it in. Panther vs Virus matwork anyone?

Friday looks WEIRD. A mini’s tag match? Since when do they do that in a segunda? Tzuki vs Damiancito for the belt being built? Or Shockercito vs Peq Violencia continuing their Sunday feud? Tercera and semi-main could be tons of fun. Hopefully CMLL fixes this TV issue as I’d love to see the top 3 next week and get that Tzuki tag on GdR.

Still hoping CMLL pops up on TV today. Even if it doesn’t you’d have to think the Torneo still makes GdR next week.

  2. It seems that last night show will air on C3… don’t know when.

Rivera actually mentions no Televisa taping last night on his column.

  3. They better not fuck with the regular C3 taping which had Tzuki! I’m gonna be mega pissed even if the entire Friday show airs!

  4. One guy said that Pierroth was at the announcer’s booth last night… and C3 cameras were around…

  5. @Rob: Maybe the Tuesday taping makes FSE/C52 then? Or maybe the opener from Sunday ends up one of those? So confusing.

  6. The soccer game with guys who are retired is airing as announced, no CMLL this week it seems…

  7. Am I the only one happy about the Friday show airing on C3? XEJ had too many problems. Would this apply to 44 also?

  8. From the viewpoint of someone watching on the internet it’s an improvement but the Tuesday show disapearing would be awful. Always had constantly great matches featuring talent that doesn’t make the Friday shows. Hopefully it’s a one week thing.

XEJ is working fine for me today of course.:P

Actually in a BEST CASE SCENARIO – XEJ airs the Friday show today and tomorrow’s usual repeat slot airs the Tuesday show. Now that would be absolutely perfect.

  9. I’m gonna leave the XEJ feed on just incase.

@thecubsfan: It’s an interesting situation now. If C3 was there last night instead of Canal52MX, I’d assume 52MX just airs an extra match from tmrw’s Coliseo show and they have 6 matches booked so it wouldn’t be a problem. The cmll.com photos have the C3 logo on the big screen so nothing from Tuesday can air on Canal52MX/FSE.

  10. XEJ was working earlier for me, but I downloaded Firefox 3 last week, and this stupid thing keeps crashing, can’t get it to come up at all now.

  11. A little off topic but since this is the last week it seems CMLL will be at Coliseo Monterrey, Is the show on Multimedios going to continue with the FILL people or whatever that promotion is called?

  12. @Tim: Yeah it’s a lucha block so they air any wrestling no matter who puts the shows on. My guess is they’ll show the Tuesday show coming up b/c it has celebrities involved.

  13. This might mean the opening mini’s tag is being saved for Canal52MX? They said the Torneo would be airing for sure.

  14. Thanx

The prompt told me it was opening it with winamp but the windows media classic came up and is playing it alright.

  15. Well whoever chooses what airs on C3 definitely has taste. First we had the week with mini’s opener airing instead of women’s segunda and now they’ve chosen the best match from Tuesday (sorry Tzuki) to air.

  16. Valiente was too fat to roll under the ropes there and that could have been dangerous for Efesto…

  17. @Rob: Canal 52mx is the one taping the Cadena Tres anyway. So let’s hope they all work it out, and leave Telerisa.

  18. See now THIS is a good CMLL show. They’re airing a highlight package of the Tuesday main event.

Imagine… a CMLL TV show that crams as much footage as they can within the 2 hours instead of airing 3 edited matches that total 35 minutes over a 2 hour show?

  19. So they edit out the battle royale… show us the first 6 exchanges that are all generic and slow… then edit straight to the final 4 or rather final 3 since Axxel goes out within 20 seconds.

That’s the exact thing they did with the Kids Day mini’s Torneo. You’d think they would have learned…

  20. No Momentos of course.

So either these two main event matches went REALLY LONG or they’re gonna piss us off more by having a segment at the end of the show to fill time.

  21. Main event was said to be really short…

The crowd was booing during the cibernetico, so I say that it was a botchedmania thing and they edited it out… or is the same guys at CMLL doing the editing (Televisa only airs them… aired them).

  22. I’m not even bothering with the rest of the show. Main event is up on cmll.com already so you can see everything. Photos of the Torneo strangely enough only show 1 dive by Azteca Jr….

  23. My guess is that they knew they’re not going on TV (only Televisa counts) and this is kind of a fill in show. Next week we’ll have the same main event and a torneo… pretty much same thing as last night.

  24. The new SuperLuchas says Televisa/CMLL had a falling apart on Thursday so C3 was called in at the last minute to tape the show but everything will be back to normal next week.

    BUT THE BIGGER NEWS IS…

Tzuki no-showed Arena Coliseo 3 weeks ago b/c he was touring Italy as Little Dragon! AWESOME!:D

(My priorities may be a bit mixed up… I realize this.)

  25. YES BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY…

Tzuki re-appeared in Mexico on June 24th and there is video footage to support it was him working the next night as well in Tampico. Meanwhile there was still a Little Dragon working in Italy on those dates. Hmmm.

  26. It’s working for me on the link SUPERLuchas provided, I’m not watching it though, I just wanted to see how well it drew but no way to tell… I’m just waiting for MAG to show up and try to gauge the pop…

  27. I tried to catch the main event for the Arena Coliseo Monterrery show and as soon as I pressed record for Real Player, the feed stopped working for me. The Cadena Tres MMA show feed is working.

  28. Llaves had a triple dive spot!! In front of 63 people!! (Yes I counte, well, maybe I counted some guys twice, who knows).

Bobby Lee in a MMA match? How come nobody cared about it… I mean, Bobby Lee was the guy who almost took Santo’s mask 30 years ago and after that… did nothing… oh well, I guess I now understand it…

  29. Well, the MMA show… pulled a ACM and bombed bad. MAG said he was injured and didn’t fight, I guess the promoter asked him not to so he had not to pay the megabucks for him…

  30. HEY! Flash and Stuka Jr. won! Not sure about the rest of you but I consider that an upset. Awesome!
