Laredo Kid Out 4 To 6 Months

El Manana has an article on Laredo Kid. His injury is a broken tibia, so he’s gone for a good long while.

It didn’t occur to me when the injury was reported, but when Laredo suffered this injury it was part of a six way cage match. According to this recap, the Sect must’ve all left after Laredo got hurt but before any one realized how bad it is. The idea obvious was to have Laredo get the hair win over Sangre, but you can’t actually climb out of the cage with a broken leg. This is actually a great reason for CMLL’s “last two to a pinfall/submission” bit – Sangre could’ve just rolled himself up for a pin – but that also wasn’t an option here.

Instead, Sangre just said he didn’t want Laredo to lose his mask because he got hurt, and took a loss by forfeit. Laredo got helped out of the cage and Sangre got his head shaved. Fans were not pleased with the cop out finish.

This interview with Charly Manson says AAA pays some sort of monthly stipend and was hoping AAA would take care of his medical expenses. Probably the same situation here.

  1. For my money, the CMLL model is the only way to do multi-wrestler cage matches. More dramatic, more thunderdome — and the injury reasoning makes perfect sense on top of that.

  2. The match had a weird ending, but the injury explains it. Sangre climbed back in the ring after sitting on top of the cage and everyone expected him to fight the Kid. He begged Laredo to leave, which he did and got heavily booed for.

  3. Speaking of Nvo Laredo, it seems that Electro Shock and Chessman agreed to a hair match for the next show. Which leads me to believe Chessman will be put a mask like Zorro in 2006’s Mania, heck, the very same mask, and then lose his hair over here…

  4. I don’t think thats a cop out at all, I mean normally you would never see any american wrestler do that at all, but for Sangre to do that, that’s major props in my book.

Tell me what TNA, WWE or Ring of Honor wrestler would have done that? He cared about his oponent more than the match. Last time that was done was Volador Vs Misterioso where Misterioso got hurt and Volador put Misterioso on top of him to lose his mask.

  5. Well, a less romantic view on it is that Chicana said “no way I’m going home without my paycheck”.

BTW, it’s weird that AAA has not picked some matches for their main show, the Estrellita vs Rossy and even this Laredo Kid vs Sangre Chicana could have been used for their main show, well, not that much the ladies with the Apaches already on it but… not to talk to the supposed Chessman vs Electro Shock hair match.
