Mistico appeared but did not wrestle due to a hurt wrist. Superluchas reports says he’s expected to work on Friday, but CMLL’s recap is less committed. Good thing Volador just happened to have tonight free.
Stories on Mr. Niebla’s jump: notimex and ESTO. No new details. Oddly, CMLL’s website still doesn’t list the card for Sunday, just listing it’s a special Father’s Day show in Arena Mexico.
Konnan’s everyone in AAA is a clown or a dancer and sucks bit got picked up in news coverage again. Interesting way to lead into TripleMania. Konnan’s quoted as saying CMLL has better wrestlers, but they can’t create new stars. The only people Konnan sees as stars are Konnan, Cibernetico, Mesias and Zorro in AAA and Mistico, Dr. Wagner Jr., and “maybe” LA Park in CMLL. Putting aside the thousands of Perros del Mal shirts disagreeing with him, it’s a funny slip of the tongue that he lists the other La Parka and not the one he’s currently feuding with. Konnan brings Parka Jr. up later, so he probably just forget here. He brought up Perro Jr. earlier too.
I know Konnan sees this as speaking in character on behalf of the evil Legion, and he’s probably saying more than this and it’s probably supposed to set up Cibernetico or Roldan talking about how Konnan’s a liar and there’s a lot of great talent in AAA, but the only thing that ever gets attention out of this is one of the leading stars in AAA saying how AAA isn’t as great as it once was and lucha libre isn’t as great as it was (as when he was when just taking off.) That’s dumb, and it’d dumb everytime it happens. If all the AAA wrestlers are awful, why should we be impressed when the Legion beats them?

Paper erroneously lists the title match as for the CMLL World Titles. Maybe it would be if Valiente had stayed healthy. This is Sombra big homecoming match. Ultimo Guerrerito = $$$. UG is actually working AOL on Thursday, coming back to Arena Meixco on Monday, and heading back to Torreon on Saturday.
Yes Konnan was talking in character and also, some of the stuff was not really quoted so we don’t know what he actually said, no way to say if he really said that CMLL has better wrestlers. He mentioned Konnan, Cibernetico, Mesias and Zorro “and more stars (besides) while CMLL only has Mistico (Wagner and LA Park are indys).
The article quotes him as saying that he worked with Hijo del Perro but I doubt it ever happened and I guess he was talking about Old Perro but the reported misprinted that… so much for reliability in the media.
AAAMania and that other show are upon us and I still have not seen anyone offering a results match by match on the forums, I guess Superluchas might go for it on Juicio, but I doubt they’ll cover Mania, they already doing some predictions and calling Danielson in AAA a waste…
About that Plaza de Toros Torreon show, they did one a couple of weeks back with Ultimo Guerrero and Blue Panther, probably just and excuse for Ultimo to be home and attend the Soccer finals, but at the same time, a show with Hijo del Santo was being held, so I guess the Paco feud with Hijo del Santo is not limited to ArMex. BTW, the Hijo show was canceled because the guy who was to provide the ring couldn’t get it (a cynical guy would say he was bought out)
The thing is, every time Konnan tries to do this bit with the press, it ends up getting represented this way. You’d think he’d try something different.
SuperLuchas may still be not on good terms with AAA, but I figure there’ll be someone who gets the PPV and posts on the forums. SL seems to be doing IWRG live lately, so you’d they’d try it with CMLL if it’s physically possible (I’m assuming no PPV and also no public wireless access in Arena Mexico.)
You failed to mention Tzuki was subbed out for Shockercito in the Sunday mini’s match.
This is where I get pissed and tell you I’m never watching CMLL again.
BUT.
1) Pequeno Ninja looks cool. If Canz were still alive he’d be marking out like mad.
2) I’m going to watch Mascarita Dorada and Tzuki vs Pequeno Warrior and Pierroth now.

Konnan sais CMLL can’t create new stars. Konnan can’t either. At least CMLL doesn’t ruin the stars they do have by booking them stupidly.
I think the part about him saying AAA’s only stars are Konnan, Cibernetico, Mesias and Zorro are his true feeling because these are the guys he has put on top. If he was totally in character when making that statement he wouldn’t be putting over Cibernetico and Mesias who are his ememies in the story line.
CMLL.com notes Leono replaced Super Nova last night at Arena Mexico making Fabian officially the worker of the team. This will be the first week I don’t watch C3 till the main event… unless they air the opener in highlights like last week.
Those are Konnan true feelings. I’ve ask him a question about his favorite wrestlers and he basically mention those same names except he dissed Mistico and gave Rey Bucanero praise instead.
Is Konnan really wrong? I’m not naming names but I’ve seen some guys basically say the same thing Konnan is saying.
Yeah but those some guys aren’t in a position of power over the guys they are insulting and are on the outside looking in. If these guys are as bad as Konnan says, why doesn’t he help them out?
Anyways it’s pointless to argue this. Ask Konnan if he thinks he’s still a capable wrestler in the ring and when he gives his answer we’ll know exactly how much his opinion is worth.
There’s a point when Konnan needs to stop talking for publicity and just speak as himself, put over the company stars and all, but one thing I’ve learned about Konnan is that he does go into business for himself.

Konnan is not very articulated in Spanish, I wonder if he ever learned it well, but the situation is, he either stops making statements which will end up making no sense, or we don’t really care about such statement, I still say you guys give him too much credit, he’s not as important to AAA as you think, he was more influential to Peña, but Marisela and the rest of the Roldan family, is a different story.
