AAA #825

taped 02/23, aired 03/22

Yay, recaps. From two months ago. No one complained about missing them but they’re back anyway. The problem, of course, is I wrote most of these two weeks ago.

This was the “captains advance to Rey de Reyes” show. The Night Queens/Fuerza Aerea match was good and the Vipers/Stones match had it’s moments.

The main event made was completely confusing and made no sense. Much of it seemed to be Konnan’s fault. And then I don’t know if it’s just how it looked on TV, but Extreme Tigre’s moonsault off the light standard seemed hurried for no reason. He didn’t hang up there long for the fans to anticipate what he was doing, or for Alebrije to set himself. They’ve really cut down on doing those sort of stunts (and crowd brawling) compared to last year, so it did stick out memorably a bit more.

  1. I definitely missed the reviews!

Fuerza Aerea/Night Queens was short and effective. Aero Star is just way too amazing. If he was in CMLL he’d be over way beyond belief. AAA better do something with him post-Triplemania. He’s so good at working the six-sided ring.

The opener got 14:10? I remember watching it and can’t remember it going that long. Sounds like it could have been a fun match… but at 14:10… maybe not so much.

Boy that Divina surprise win and Rey De Reyes push sure went nowhere.

  2. Oh yeah, they still don’t ever call him ‘Gato Eveready’. It’s either El Gato or Gato Volador. Must be an advertising issue but it’s not like we can’t see EVEREADY all over the ringposts.:) It isn’t THE Gato Volador though.

  3. Konnan is hilarious! Last year he was on TV and doing internet shows and Lashley was one of the names he mentioned as being one of the most obvious steroid users on TV. Yet, one year later Lashley has been booked for TripleMania. LOL Konnan! I wonder if he’ll walk up to Lashley and say to his face what he was saying in media interviews?
