05/19: Charly out for at least six weeks, Coliseo, Monterrey

Toscano & Mistico, CMLL

(RFC) Charly Manson fractured his leg in Reynosa. He’s going to need plates put in today, and will be out of action six to eight weeks. Chessman was also hurt in the match, so it’s not fun to be a Hell Brother right now.

CMLL (SUN) 05/18 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones]
5) Alex Koslov, Héctor Garza, Místico b Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

Alex and Rey are apparently feuding, and Alex is getting a shot at the CMLL Light Heavyweight title on Sunday.

CMLL (SUN) 05/18 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Angel del Silencio & Atomo (Monterrey) b Dark War & Gemelo Muerte
2) Black Diamond, Dranser, Scravos b Dralion, Furor, Orquidea Negra
3) Hijo del Trueno & Mongol Chino DRAW Caifan Rockero I & Potro Jr.
4) Solar I & Super Astro DRAW Negro Navarro & Shu el Guerrero
5) Heavy Metal & LA Park b Averno & Toscano

Shu el Guerrero got stretchered out, and it still was a draw.

(El_Blue @ El Martinete) Dos Y Tres #4 has Niebla on the cover, and hints that Latin Lover will be appearing at TripleMania. (Neither Intocable nor Elegido is on the rumored lineup so far, which is the only way Latin would appear.)

On the other hand, it also has a Fuerza Guerrera poster and he’s been gone for a while. This is what I mean when I talk about long turnaround times to print these, so the lineups and hints may be out of date. The next TV taping is tonight, so maybe we’ll find some more out and we’ll see how they start to handle Charly’s injury.

Box Y Lucha interviews Goddess. Actually, it’s Shocker interviewing Goddess in English, and everything translated in the subtitles.

North County Times writes about Oscar Juarez, the promoter of LLII in Oceanside, California. (Their website is http://www.myspace.com/luchamaslucha.) Every non-Mexican article talking about lucha libre references Nacho Libre, which is disappointing in a the fashion.

  1. wow, so Latin Lover can care less about actual wrestling, he just doesnt want to be out danced at the show.

any word on how long, if at all, Chessman will be out?

  2. Bruce, Latin Lover just doesn’t like people thinking they can replace him.

Besides he has appeared on big shows where Elegido and Intocable have been on the card (last years Triplemania and Verano De Escandalo)just not on regular TV so he is flexible.

Besides, AAA needs Latin Lover right now so he just might be AAA’s saving grace at Triplemania. He’s like the Hulk Hogan of Mexico.

  3. those cards from last year, were from when he was wrestling regurarly for the promotion. i know they need him. i just found it funny that the 2 guys he doesnt want on the card for him to appear are the 2 that can outdance him. i wouldnt go as far as calling him the Hogan of Mexico though, he’s more like the Shawn Michaels of Mexico. i’d say Konnan is more like the Hogan of Mexico. but it’s all a matter of opinion. i like Latin Lover, i hope he comes back for more than just the one match.

  4. Bruce, I won’t call Konnan the Hulk Hogan of Mexico because his stardom did not last over the years like Hulk Hogan has, but I do see your point how at one time he was at that level.

I do see your comparisons between Shawn Michaels and Latin Lover but you have to admit that Latin Lover has main stream popularity and recognition in Mexico that Shawn Michaels doesn’t have in the States.

As far a who dances better that’s just a matter of personal opinion.

    Ditto for Latin Lover.

  6. Chui you just had to come out and challenge me for the sake of going against the grain. Latin Lover is still a star, he always has been, and if you deny it then you’re just a liar….and a geek.

  7. “…and a geek…”

maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. even if he is, though, he sure is a nice one. leave him be.

  8. RE:??? I was mearly responding to the post he made in regards to my comments, I have the right to rebutle any rebuke made at my posts, the same way people have the right to rebuke or rebutle anything I say.

  9. No one’s saying you can’t respond to the comments (though, once again, every single comment you make is turning into a one-note Latin Lover discussion – very boring for everyone else).

But, as Mr. ??? pointed out, you strayed into comment to the commentER instead. Feel free to attack the comment, skip on attacking the commenter.

  10. exactly. cubs hit the nail on the head.

i’m a strong proponent of freedom of speech. as such, i wouldn’t infringe on your rights as regards the above.

cubs said it best: attack the issue, not the person.
