04/12: Mexico, Toryumon

CMLL (FRI) 04/11 Arena Mexico [superluchas, ovaciones, luchando libre, ESTO]
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Metálico b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Diamante Negro, Euforia, Nosferatu b Flash, Stuka Jr., Súper Nova
3) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Valiente b Ephesto, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
4) Blue Panther, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas DQ Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano V
5) Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mephisto b Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Místico

Top two matches were both two fall sweeps. Mistico’s mask was bloodied and ripped up during the first fall, and he took the pinfall after a triple powerbomb. Mistico went to the back to get a new mask, but that wasn’t enough to turn the match around this time. Averno & Mephisto got clean pins on Mistico & Garza, including Averno giving Mistico a second rope Devil’s Wings. Tag title challenges were made after the match.

Leon Negro, Estrella Blanca, Tony Lopez, Saeta Azteca, and Manuel Robles appeared before the main event for a short tribute.

Casas Brothers beat the Perros in the first fall of the semimain. V5 got Blue Panther to submit in the second fall, but wouldn’t let go of his hold and shoved down the ref for the excessive DQ.

Hijo de Fantasma looked a little nervous, but the reviews are generally positive. Ovaciones gives him credit for having his own style.

Stuka Jr. was strechered out after being beat by the Infernales.

Toryumon (SUN) 05/11 Arena Mexico
1) Saisuke Hanaoka & Satoshi Kajiwara vs Dr. Karonte Jr. & Negro Navarro
2) Dark Angel & Fuka vs Hiroka & Mima Shimoda
3) Hiromi Horiguchi, Ohara, Shigeo Okumura vs Brazo de Oro, La Máscara, Máximo
4) Katsuhiko Nakajima & Ryuji Yamaguchi vs Dr. X & Nitro
5) Marco Corelone vs Alex Koslov, Texano Jr., Amigo Suzuki, Hijo del Fantasma, Súper Nova, Astro Boy
6) Toshiya Matsuzaki vs Pequeño Damian 666 [hair]
7) Animal & Kensuke Sasaki vs Damián 666 & Terrible
8) Místico, Tatsumi Fujinami, Último Dragón vs Atlantis, Rene Dupree, Último Guerrero

Rene Dupree? Animal? Fujinama, Dragon, Sasaki, Alex, Marco make 7, so either Ohara or Okumura make the Gran Prix team or maybe Animal or Fujinama is only wrestling once that weekend.

Matsuzaki and Mini Damian had a draw in a title match the last time out to set up this hair match. There’s a yet to be announced match with people from the LA Dojo.

Arturo Rivera kinda sort explains what happened in Toluca.

Ovaciones says the music group Elásticos has created a theme for Atlantis as part of his 25th Anniversary celebration. I presume it’s the Atlantida song on their mySpace page.

Ovaciones also briefly profiles Scanner, a student of Shu el Guerrero. He’s a welterweight at 170cm, and is making his debut at Arena Libertad.

Back with lineups soon.

  1. That segunda could make for a great GdR match next week!

You could always stick Grey Shadow on that Gran Prix team as well.

    Who eats garlic bagels? Yuck!

  2. Whoa! Nice second fall finish in the tercera! Fantasma’s kid ran the entire length of the ramp and lept into the ring with a swinging DDT! Valiente used a cool submission on Sangre Azteca afterwards. He should keep that as his finisher.

  3. Haha, i’m truly shocked that La Mascara wasn’t involved in it! :D

Anyone else not getting a Cadena Tres feed?

  4. Garlic bagel = what happens when you go for donuts at 11. Horrible move by me.

What’s the link to the C3 feed? None of the sites seem to be working.

  5. Why do i only get the sound and a blank screen on that link. Is there some special piece of software you need to load onto WMP?

  6. I’m not sure. Do you have the newest WMP? The feed is only going at 102k so I can’t imagine why you’d need anything special like divX or anything of the sort. Try VLC Media Player?

  7. Everything works well in RealPlayer.Try to open the webpages using real player and see how quickly the streams pop up.

  8. Finally got it, albeit in really low resolution. Something to do with some video acceleration setting in WMP, which is weird because i haven’t manually changed anything.

But whats worse – a blank screen or Leono & Fabian?! :)

  9. I really liked it. Mascarita Dorada was on fire and worked great with Pequeno Warrior. Warrior did his slingshot legdrop to the floor at the end and then got hit with a bullet tope from Pequeno Olimpico who almost nose-dived it. Pierrothito did a cool somersault off the apron outta nowhere and then Dorada pinned Fire with a moonsault.

  10. Man the minis in EMLL, and I have to say it, are so much more better than the ones in AAA. Granted the AAA minis are good at what they do, I find EMLL’s minis much more entertaining.

A Garlic bagel at 11pm at night is NEVER a good idea, LOL!

  11. I thought the Satanico promo on Cadena Tres was interesting. He knocked the high-flyers, and said they won’t have a long career like him. He also criticized the current style compared to when he was in his prime. I just don’t see the point of telling this to the public. Aren’t there feuds and title bouts coming that need focus to sell tickets?

  12. I really think it was just a generic promo. In the Misterioso promo he said Axxel was a nobody and only being given a chance because of his family. Was he trying to expose the truth or just cut a generic rudo promo?
