03/01: Mexico, lineups, GdR, Dragon, Xalapa

CMLL (FRI) 02/29 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, ovaciones, ESTO]
1) Mictlan & Starman b Calígula & Méssala
2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Nitro b Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Super Nova
3) Felino, Máximo, Valiente b Ephesto, Euforia, Nosferatu
4) Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero b Grey Shadow, La Sombra, Negro Casas
5) Héctor Garza, Marco Corelone, Mistico DQ Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mephisto

Mistico was well on his way to winning fall one of the main event, so Perro yanked his mask and destroyed it. Rudos dominated while Mistico was gone getting a new one, and Mistico started the comeback on his return. Corelone took out his partner Mistico with Air Italia by mistake, Garza still managed to moonsault Perro for the pin, Averno broke that up, and Mephisto fouled Garza for straight DQs. Second straight main event that’s gone two falls. Perro was carried out after the match.

Guerreros dominated the semimain, though CMLL talks up the team of Shadow and Sombra. Ephesto took the third fall pinfall from Maximo to lose the tercera. I hope the Nuevo Infernales learned a valuable lesson about whom to team with. Mictlan replaced Molotov in the opener.

CMLL (SUN) 03/02 Arena Mexico

4) Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mephisto vs Negro Casas, Sagrado, Volador Jr.
5) Rey Bucanero vs Mr. Águila [CMLL LH]

Aguila gets his shot. This is Mentallo’s Arena Mexico debut, unless I’m missing something, and his first TV match.

CMLL (FRI) 03/07 Arena Mexico
1) Starman & Tony Rivera vs Calígula & Méssala
2) Máscara Púrpura, Mictlán, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Skandalo, Virus
3) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Valiente vs Olímpico, Rey Bucanero, Universo 2000
4) Blue Panther & Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Dos Caras Jr. & LA Park and el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Villano V and Atlantis & Último Guerrero [torneo]
5) Héctor Garza vs Averno

That’s odd. I guess the had people they wanted to get on the card, but didn’t want to go to six matches, so we got a rare tag torneo. Or maybe Avenro & Mephisto won’t end up getting the title match at Dos Leyendas. I know Wagner is still cheered plenty, but I figured his last turn on Mistico was supposed to set him up as a rudo (not that it’d work.) Maybe he’s only teaming with upstanding men he can trust not to dive on him.

The main event could possibly be fun, or it could be eight minutes and two DQs. Note the tercera has the High Society imploding. Maybe Marco and Alex can recruit Valiente as a new member.

  1. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!!! I can stop worrying about GdR screwing us out of that match in favor of a boring Coliseo segunda!

  2. TV today could be pretty dull. Each match had someone I want to see though… Valiente, Sombra and Mistico. I’ll probably watch it all and then record the Cadena Tres opener since it’ll be on at the same time.

    That should be 3/4 (TUE).

Looks like a strong show and should draw as well as can be expected for these Tuesday shows. Dorada on TV again ROCKS! Interested to see Mentallo in action and with Stuka Jr. there you can’t go wrong. I have hopes for the title match up top… is that bad?

I believe I should wait till Tuesday night to comment since by then we know all the changes to the lineup. Maybe the tag Torneo is setting up some sort of relevos incriebles match for 3/21 like Mistico/someone vs Wagner/Parka. The flaw in that theory is I have no idea who the someone could be…

Marco/Universo! There are the two guys who will be added to the 3/21 main event. Chui called it.

  3. Valiente is absolutely nuts. He did the over the ringpost Valiente Special! Euforia had second thoughts about taking a frankensteiner off the apron so finish was a little awkward…

  4. You gotta use the Victor Especial and connect early in the day or keep trying for an hour now.

  5. Perro got the crowd in the palm of his hands. I’m actually enjoying this main event aka brawl.

  6. Cadena Tres opener looked kinda fun with some neat double teams as expected from Polvora/Vaquero (who really need a name!).

But i couldn’t make everything out too well as my feed was really bad.

I did make out Astro Boy sucking though. That guy really needs to just accept that he’s not a graceful flyer, and stop attempting all the flippyness. He just makes himself look silly when he keeps falling on his ass. :)

Oh, and someone tell him that just the one rope-headstand dive-fakeout is enough per match.

  7. Yeah the feed sorta went to shit halfway during the match. But the good feed was around enough to see Astro Boy look good for all of 30 seconds before getting back into shitty mode. I don’t know what his deal is but he really seems like a guy who thinks he has to be exactly like his brother rather than carving out his own niche. He just isn’t talented enough to pull it off and is making himself look stupid. Not that it’ll stunt his future push at all…

POLVAQ! Does that work? They were awesome. Great double teams and Vaquero was trying his hardest to keep Astro Boy in check.

    Rivera and Metalico absolutely blew.:)

    Skipped the women.

  8. Not sure about the specifics behind how the Cadena Tres feed works but is it possible the feed is sucking today b/c Misteriorana aka Mozangeles went and spread the link all over the Mexican boards?

  9. Nah that’s not it. It works different in different areas. It works fine for me and it always does. Of course I use a different program than everyone else.
