CMLL FSE #73

taped 12/23, aired in the US 01/27

I would’ve had this done sooner, but they cut out the second fall of the main event on the first airing – soccer ran long, what a shock – and they aired the full episode Monday night. And that second fall really wasn’t worth much, but now you know La Mascara can’t do a good 619.

Or you knew that already.

Maximo + Japanese = goofery and a match where Flash’s (and Dr. X’s) talents are pretty much wasted. Alas.

Again, I wish they gave four hair wins in 2007 (and about to be one in 2008) to someone they were actually going to push. Not that I want to see more Leono, but it kinda exposes them to be the irrelevant and time killing feuds they appeared to be.

  1. Plug:Sorry Cubs but I thought some people might be interested in seeing this match

Rayo de Jalisco, Jr. & TJ Perkins(also known as Puma) Vs. Blue Demon, Jr. and Hidaka(NJPW) on NWA Showcase on Colours tv tonight at 9pm eastern.

LIVE stream at colourstv.org but you have to sign up for free.

They will post the show on nwawrestling.com sometime tonight as well.

  2. 2 things. in response to USAUSA Hidaka does not wrestle for NJPW, it’s Ikuto Hidaka and he wrestles for ZERO1-MAX and the japanese indies, occasionally being brought in by NOAH.

second, yeah i agree La Mascara cannot hit a good Tiger Feint Kick. but i wont call that move the 619, Mysterio didnt innovate it and does it quite bad himself. he’s too slow to pull off the move and he never gets it right. so i have to call it what it really is the Tiger Feint Kick. sorry cubs.

  3. Well it’s called a “619” in NOAH, since the commentators there always yell “six-one-niiiiiiine” when it hits someone.

  4. You can call it whatever, but everyone knows what a 619 means. It’s still a bad 619, because it’s worse than what Misterio does.

  5. they dont call it 619 in NOAH. i get just about every NOAH show on dvd, and they never say 619 when it’s performed. the only wrestler who does it in NOAH is Kotaru Suzuki anyway. if Mysterio has never wrestled for the promotion and its in japan where the move was originated, why would they call it 619?

speaking of NOAH and the tiger feint kick, how about when Taiji Ishimori hits his reverse feint kick. it is truly something to see. they call it something else and he has a name for it, but i forget what it is.

  6. I haven’t kept up with NOAH since fall 07, but I definitely remember the commentators yelling “619”
in tag matches with Kotaro Suzuki and Ricky Marvin whenever they did a double 619 on an opponent.

Tiger feint kicks and Reverse feint kicks like the one Taiji Ishimori does didn’t get the “619” yell when they didn’t hit anyone.

  7. Should be back in April I believe.

I don’t think Taiji has ever hit a reverse 6-1-9, he just uses it as a fakeout. Unless he did it recently and I haven’t seen it yet of course.

  8. yeah, Taiji hits the reverse Tiger Feint, than goes for the baseball slide, both as fakeouts and then he usually follows up the corkscrew tope.
