AAA Mini Line - 09/01/07 (#640)
Recapped: 09/07/07

4 sided ring! Entrance setup is like TripleMania with the small side video boards.

Vignette: Apache and Fabi are walking around, and Gran Apache is hyping Alfa to her as usual. He's a luchador! He's a rudo! Fabi grants that Alfa is a good luchador, but what's the deal with the mask? Gran Apache is sure Alfa's got a good reason. Fabi tries to say Alfa would be good but for someone else, so Gran Apache tries "Marvin needs a father figure" and who better than a guy wrestler. Fabi again says Alfa's a good wrestler, but she's not sure about him outside the ring.

Match 1: Cinthia Moreno, Octagoncito, Oriental (c), Pimpinela Escarlata vs Alfa (c), Fabi Apache, Gran Apache, Mini Histeria
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, 07/27/07

Winner: Tecnicos (Oriental pin Alfa)
Match Time: 6:10
Notes: Morenos have the mixed tag team titles. The Apache troop comes out together as a three person unit. Pimpi sneaks a kiss on Gran Apache, which almost starts a brawl. Pepe Casas is the sole ref. Weird to have Pimpi without a exotico on the other side. We've got new fall graphics, wow.

Oriental gets in a showcase run, tags in his sister, and she's immediately jumped from behind to start the beatdown. Cinthia appears to have both shoulders wrapped. Beatdown only last a couple minutes before Oriental side steps a corner charge, and Gran Apache and up swatting all his partners. Oriental ducks a Apache clothesline for good measure and topes Alfa. PImpi gets Gran Apache with a tope he really had to work for, and Cinthia More adds a plancha onto Apache. Fabi Asai Moonsault! Haven't seen that much - she, Gran Apache and Pimpi hit the guardrail hard on that. Minis are left inside, as things seem to be progressing faster than usual. Octagoncito sends Mini Histeria out, and follows with a thru the ropes twisting plancha. That looked good too.

Oriental and Alfa left in the ring. Alfa misses a clothesline, leapfrogs over Oriental, Alfa's kick is blocked, Oriental is not. Oriental chop, off the rope, right into an Alfa kick. Sit down powerbomb! One two NO. Corner whip, Alfa charges, Oriental gets up the elbow. Alfa charge again, and gets the knee, Oriental charges out, and eats a powerslam one two NO. Fabi is pounding the apron from to the outside, but Oriental recovers first and knees Alfa in the side. Oriental holds Alfa for a Cinthia missile dropkick, but Alfa moves and Oriental takes it. Alfa sets up for the Tiger suplex, but Oriental slips to the mat, bodyscissors cradle, one two NO. That move didn't look quite right - Alfa was titled over one side. Both up, Alfa misses a  clothesline, Oriental gets a German suplex one two three. I wonder if that rollup was supposed to be the finish. Worked out good anyway.

Pimpi offers to fondle Alfa after the match, but the rudos run him off. Alfa's very slow up.

Backstage Interview: Mesias and Kenzo talk about the main event. This is displayed on the side video boards, we're shown. Mesias breaks no ground, Kenzo says about two words because he still can't speak Spanish apparently.

Match 2: Escoria vs Aero Star vs Extreme Tiger vs Laredo Kid vs Super Fly vs Hombre Sin Miedo vs Pegasso vs Rey Cometa in Alas de Oro
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, 07/27/07

Winner: Extreme Tiger
Match Time: 14:29
Notes: Hombre sin Miedo is a northern Mexico guy with a (blue, this time) Dare Devil (comics) mask. Dare Devil is the Man Without Fear, so there you go. All five Air Force guys come out at as a group. Scoria is by himself, which must feel very odd. Extreme Tiger is the last one out, also with no backup. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.

So how's this going to work? All the tecnicos put their hands in the middle to start the match (Escoria's not interested.) Super Fly shoves Cometa, Cometa shoves Super Fly, Laredo rushes Extreme Tiger, Extreme Tiger sends him out with a headscissors. Hombre sin Miedo (who I'm going to call Hombre sin Nombre about fifteen times, I'm sure dropkicks Tiger out, Aero Stars sends out HsM with a headscissors, Escoria misses a clothesline on Aero but ends up hitting a wheel kick, Pegasso dropkicks Scoria, Cometa (who's wearing gear without a big star on the chest and his mask seems different) knocks out Pegasso with a jumping bicycle kick, and we're left with Comet and Super Fly in. Handshake? Fly is offering, Cometa is hesitant. Cometa accepts and immediately follows with a chest slap. Super Fly answers. Cometa off the ropes, handspring back flip, Fly drops down under, Fly off the ropes, under a leapfrogs, Cometa pauses him with a shoulderblock, springboard flip into a spinning headscissors that sends Super Fly out. That wasn't done in one clean motion, but was still pretty good.

Fly out, Pegasso in - looks like there's no formal sides like a cibernetico, just people darting in when the one previous leaves, and of course it'll be an upset if the guy who won the last exchange doesn't end up going out on the next one. Pegasso shoulderblocks Cometa, whip flips on. Pegasso does his own flipping run, leapfrogs over, backflips over a charge, wristlock walkup the ropes, ropeflip springboard bodyscissors into an armdrags - that was a lot for an armdrag! Pegasso runs up the corner, and moonsaults off into a spinning armdrag.

Cometa out, HsN in. Off the ropes, duck under, flipping over, twisting 'rana. HsM pauses to celebrate, gets chest slapped down. Pegasso corner whips him, charges, and HsM gets him a with a middle rope spinning headscissors. Pegasso is slide chest first out.

Laredo in, and the crowd pops for him. Chest slap battle, both guys look hurt. Hombre sin Miedo may be an inch or two taller, but he seems about the same size, to give you some general idea what we're working with here. Laredo gets HsM with a rope flip moonsaults, spinning headscissors - we're sure going to see a lot of them. Laredo celebrates, and HsM wheel kicks him. HsM celebrates. Corner chop, corner whip, charge, no one's home because Laredo's jumped to the apron and is kicking HsM from there. Springboard headscissors ends HsM out.

Aero Star sneaks in the back way while Laredo's celebrating and thinking dive. Both Aero Star and Laredo run off the ropes at the same time, Laredo gets to the far ropes and just looks out and Aero surprises him with a 619. Timing was a little off (Laredo is faster than Aero Star, we've learned), but cool idea. Aero slingshots in form the apron, jumps on Laredo's shoulders as he's kneeled over, and jumps off for a 'rana. Aero is fired up. Off the ropes, waved by, satellite headscissors - he may have made two complete rotations on that.

Extreme Tiger in, but Aero sees him and moves out of the way of a dropkick. Extreme Tiger kips up, whips are reversed, charges are avoided, and has to double check Aero is running behind him at one point. Tiger hamstring kicks Aero Star, who hangs in the ropes for no discernible reason except is sets up Tiger's guillotine Flying stomp. Aero Star could've just pulled himself up to avoid it, that was dumb. Tiger points to the sky.

And almost misses Escoria coming in. He does pick him up in time, and avoid the dropkick. Corner whip, Escoria backflip out of the corner, Extreme Tiger shoves him back in, Escoria back elbows Tiger back and down. Escoria to the top - corkscrew moonsault one two NO! Escoria can't believe that count. Chop. Whip, no, Escoria drop toe hold, running kick to the head. Out goes Extreme Tiger.

Super Fly back in, so we've cycled thru. Escoria has a small but loud cheering section. Aero rolls and flips forward, and Escoria knocks him down with a shoulderblock. Aero kips up, and then backflips just to do it. Scoria hamstring kicks and goes back over towards is cheering section. There's like six guys who are near a microphone, and that's it. Anyway, Super Fly seconds Escoria out with a headscissors.

Rey Cometa sneaks to the top rope and missile dropkicks Cometa out.

Laredo Kid back in, so we're changing order a little bit. Rey Cometa misses a clothesline, and Laredo gets him with a jumping enziguri. Aero Star in, and doing an over the top rope 619 variation. Aero Star just must work on 619. Laredo and Aero go the apron on adjacent sides of a turnbuckle and high ten - I have no idea what they're thinking here. Both springboard to the top rope - and Aero Star pulls Laredo Kid off with a perfect off the rope rope 'rana! I don't think that was Laredo's plan.

So we've got Cometa and Aero star back in, and they do monkey flip leverage spots before Aero Star sends Rey Cometa out with a fireman's carry escape headscissors.

HsM in, Aero Star misses a clothesline, and Miedo topes Rey Cometa! They both recover as Aero Star hops to the apron. Salute, springboard to the top rope - suicide reverse tope! My gosh, Aero Star turns so over that he would've fell flat on his back (or head) had he not been caught. That man is insane. Crowd has been quiet, but that gets a larger than average reaction. Laredo back in - top rope Asai Moonsault! Super Fly in - handspring stops short ant the ropes - huh. Pegasso's in, so what Fly is really doing is setting up for his partner - tossing him out on the run for a tornillo onto the growing mass on the outside. Is Super Fly going to dive? Springboard tope con giro! Extreme Tiger springboard top rope twisting Asai moonsault! Poor Scoria has to go last, I have no idea what's left for him to do. He's all fired up, I almost think he's going welsh on diving to screw the people. Scoria to the apron - springboard tornillo! Not as good as the other dives but still pretty good. Oh, forget about Rey Cometa - top rope tornillo too. Aero Star should've gone last, he was the best. Ha, some fans are chanting for Hijo de Tirantes to dive, and he's assuring them that has no chance of happening today.

Aero Star, HsM and Escoria all end up back in the ring. Double whip for the rudo, but he comes back with a double clothesline. He is much larder than everyone else here. Second try a double clothesline misses, HsM gives him a dropkick to the knee, and Aero adds a dropkick to the head. HsM gives Escoria the double underhook faceslam that's so popular, and Aero Star lands on him with one of his lesser Shooting Star Presses. Scoria might have got kneed in the side right there. That's a pinfall.

Aero Star celebrates, and gets blown up with a dropkick. Gotta pay attention!

Extreme Tiger in, leapfrogs over a HsM sliding dropkick chance and getting him with a dropkick of his own. Corner whip, reverses, HsM flipped to the apron. Tiger jumps, feeding his head for a over the top rope Stunner. HsM poses on the outside - is he continuing? Guess so, he's climbing up top. Extreme Tiger cuts him off with a punch, lifts HsM onto his shoulders, and then drops him with a gut buster on the top rope. Extreme Tiger going back up, all the way up - top rope moonsault side slam, one two three.

Extreme Tiger has to get his sense about him, but avoids a Cometa top rope sunset flip. Dropkick for Cometa knocks him into the corner. Extreme Tiger backs up, charges, and Cometa moves out of the way. Tiger flips to the apron, springboards to the middle rope but Cometa sends him to the floor with a springboard dropkick.

Pegasso in, Cometa headscissors him right up. Cometa setting up for a dive, Pegasso slides in just as Cometa dives out - slingshot tope con giro and no one's home! Some how, Cometa hits the floor but rolls thru - he stands up and instead of rolling into a ball, because he's got to catch Pegasso twisting plancha to the floor.

Fly in, but springboard dropkicked out by Aero Star. Aero charges - BULLET TOPE! He might steal that trophy form Warrior.

Laredo in - wait, no one else is. Ah, here's Extreme Tiger. Both miss clotheslines, then both clothesline each other. Both retreat to a corner, just not the same one. Laredo charges, gets flipped to the apron, climbs up, but Extreme Tiger takes out his legs with a dropkick. Extreme Tiger claws up with him, but Laredo punches him down. What's he going to do? Off the middle rope double underhook faceslam! Laredo, pin him! He does not, going up instead. Top rope stardust press MISSES (because Extreme Tiger has recovered from the last move in a half second, which is crap.) Behind the back piledriver by Tiger, Tiger sets up Laredo and goes up top, 450 splash one two three. Tirantes has been concerned about Laredo's neck since the piledriver and immediately waves for medical help.

Meanwhile, Pegasso dropkicks Extreme Tiger out, and Super Fly flips into the ring. They're pulling Laredo out pretty quick, rolling him out even, just to get him clear of the moves. Pegasso gets Fly with a bodyscissors armdrag, whip, Pegasso's clothesline is caught in an arm scissors and Super Fly puts on a - well, he's not sure. We end up with a bow and arrow - and that'll do it.

Cometa knocks Fly out of the ring with a bicycle kick. That'd be a better move if it looked good. Aero in, and ducking a clothesline. He tries the "jumping on the guy's shoulder, turning into a 'rana" bit, Cometa blocks, so Aero uses his momentum for an up and over sunset flip one two three.

Aero is thrilled, but Super Fly quickly takes him down with a hamstring kick. Whip, Aero misses a wild punch, Super Fly gets his back and gives him a German suplex, one two three.

After that rush of eliminations, we're down to Extreme Tiger and Super Fly. Hijo de Tirantes stops the match for a second to point out it's 1 on 1 and they both wave to the crowd, who've gotten more into the match. Both miss punches and connect on chops. Tiger tries another punch, Fly hooks his arm, and then hooks both arms - double arm suplex with bridge, one two NO. Aero stomps Extreme Tiger, suplex, float over one two no. Super Fly is frustrated. Match has slowed down from the frantic pace. Corner whip, Tiger slides out, Fly slides out after him. Tiger kicks Fly and sets him up on the barricade - he's on a mission to hit this move, I'm sure. Going back in, all the way up - yea, guillotine legdrop connects. Both men down. They're getting counted out? You can out them out! Crowd loudly counts along. They're just going to make it - 18, 19ish. Super Fly is looking in better shape. Extreme Tiger off the ropes, spinning headscissors is thrown off, Extreme Tiger jumps on Super Fly's shoulders on the next pass, inverted 'rana, one two three. I still don't like that move as a finish, but with no moves left in the world, I guess it's okay.

Prez Roldan is out with valets and a giant trofeo. Super Fly and Extreme Tiger shake and hug. When Extreme Tiger gets on his knee to pose with the trophy, it's almost taller than him. Hijo de Tirantes looked completely wiped out by that match. Lots of replays.

Vignette: Out on The Street, Jesus Z talks to Juvi and his pink shirt. Juvi says the other guys may have international experience, but tonight's the night of the Mexican Powers.

Match 3: Scoria, Shiryu Dragon, X-Pac (c) vs Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera (c)
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, 07/27/07

Winner: Tecnicos (Juvi pins X-Pac)
Match Time: 11:42
Other Match Notes:
X-Pac is still using the DX music. Alicia is of course with him. Rudos come out together. Scoria's workign twice as a replacement for Head Hunter I or Killings, I can't recall. Shiryu Dragon (which may not be spelled right) is listed as "Dragon Shryu" (which I know isn't right.) He's "mystery hardcore wrestler who we'll hint is Sabu" for this show, and a guy who wrestled in the same groups as Lider and Crazy Boy before they came to AAA. Naturally, Arturo messes up his name, going with "Dragon SOOKYOU" before he's corrected. Copetes is your ref.

Rudos jump the tecnicos, but tecnicos quickly turn it around whips. Jesus is giving Sean Watman's full lists of names for whichever reason. Do they mention DX and not the nWo because that's was what more recently on WWE TV? Mexican Powers combo move beatdown. Alicia gets held for kicks in the butt, but Escoria turns it around with chairshots from there. X-Pac's chair shot is much harder than the other guys. He rips at Crazy Boy's mask for good measure. Rudos get their beatdown again. Crazy's mask gets ripped pretty well and he may be bleeding. Lider takes a chair shot while in the front row - I don't know if you want to be doing that with the crowd. Alicia goes for more chairs, but apparently what they actually wanted was the sparkly wood. Rudos bet up tecnicos while making their fort on the outside., and now I know i can ignore the match till someone goes thru it. Tecnicos make their comeback and Crazy teases sending X-Pac thru it, but Alicia grabs his leg and X-Pac gives Crazy Boy the X-Factor thru the wood. Oh no, Shiryu is getting an actual table, this is going for a while longer. That really should be the finish.  Escoria lands a nice top rope legdrop on Juvi, but can't go for the pin because we're waiting for something. Extreme Tiger runs in, which seems unfair. He gets Escoria with a wheel kick, but Waltman kills him with standing spinning heel kick and a lightning legdrop. Waltman yells at Juvi about something. Juvi sits up to talk to him, and Dragon grabs Juvi by his hair. Head Hunter I is out to counter Extreme Tiger, but they really had that one pretty well covered. Tiger is whipped over the railing into to the second row, and Head Hunter, Escoria and, X-Pac all force him thru the crowd - oh, this is a awful forced way to set up the balcony dive. We see someone (Crazy? not a good shot but it makes sense) being carried out, and there may be a clip in here to speed up the process. Tiger hits his balcony plancha on Head Hunter - I don't know when Escoria went and X-Pac just bailed on the whole thing. Back in the ring, Lider is taking a suplex onto the raised backs of two chairs, which is even dumber than it sounds, since the fans are still marking out for Tiger's dive. Backstage, I guess, Escoria is beating on the suddenly recovered Crazy Boy. Hey, conveniently located light bulb tubes, what are the odds. Cibernetico wanders thru the shot - you think he's doing some sort of interference, because it is a Sect guy and he's in his gear, but it looks like he's trying to find catering or something. He seems completely unaware till he hears things smashing behind him. Meanwhile, back by the ring, Lider gives Dragon a DVD off the middle rope and thru a table. Thank god the table actually broke this time! Crowd is louder than they were for the Alas de Oros match, which is sad. Juvi and X-Pac back in, and Juvi kicks down X-Pac in the corner, then generally goes crazy. Alicia distracts Copetes, and X-Pac foul uppercuts him. Alicia violates Copetes personal space in manners he seems comfortable with, and X-Pac sets up Juvi for a martiente. Holding it, holding it, hey Extreme Tiger, can you hit your move to break it up already? It takes forever, but he hits the missile dropkick. Problem is, all the cameras realize it's taking too long, so they switch to Alicia and Copetes, missing most of the move. Juvi cradles X-Pac, and that's it. A cradle finish after two tables were broken AND someone was stretched out.

X-Pac pouts, then takes off Juvi. In the back, Crazy boy is being attended to - rib damage? Who can say. The idea is he's selling the X-Factor NOW. Crazy's mask gets almost all the way taken off so he can be checked on, which causes issues. You know, we still haven't seen Lider and Dragon after their move. We see a replay, but they may be dead for all we care.

Noti AAA
- talk about the new AAA (mega) Champion. Isn't this from the next taping? Anyway, ONE CHAMPION is emphasizes. We see Zorro, Charly, and Cibernetico bring on their belts, and Mesias, Kenzo and Niebla bring out themselves. Mesias says he's going to be champ, like it or not
- La Parka Jr. is interviewed over the phone. He's hurting but planning on coming back. I think that's what he's haying, anyway.

Interview: Super Calo and Guapito are hanging out in the park. Guapito announced Calo as the new member of the Guapo VIP. Calo talks about all the advantages to being a part of the group (senoritas!) Guapito is unconcerned about Alebrije and Cuije - they're prepared, and they wouldn't mind having the belts.

Match 4: Alan Stone (c), Scorpio Jr., Super Calo, Zumbido vs Alebrije, Brazo de Plata, El Elegido, Zorro (c)
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, 07/27/07

Winner: Guapos (Alan springboard splash Zorro)
Match Time: 17:07
Other Match Notes:
Alan introduces Guapito, and then Calo last. Cuije is wearing the Yoda mask again. Porky seems very jealous of Elegido's dance. Guapos join the tecnicos before the match starts. Alan legdrops Cuije to soften him up for Guapito. Tirantes Sr. is the ref. Four refs on one show? Huh. Alan and Calo end up dropkicking each other instead of Zorro, which starts the comeback, though there's a bad timed shot of Tirantes in the middle. Beatdown went about 5 minutes. Comeback includes a tease of Super Porky splashing Guapito, but he gets talked down by Zorro. Elegido gets his trunks yanked down on a Zumbido sunset flip, and it's blurred on TV. It was the least accidental one ever - Zumbido misses the trunks on the way over, so he sat back up and grabbed them with purpose. Tecnico showcases go Porky, Elegido, Alebrije/Cuije, and finally Zorro. Alan taking an overhead belly to bally to the floor (onto Calo) is the highlight for sure. Showcases last about 7 minutes before we cycle around to Elegido, and dives and people being yanked out of the ring. Elegido is thrown into the crowd, Porky gets Zumbido with his apron dive plancha, Alebrije gets Cuije with his tope, Alan and Zorro have an extended sequence while leads to Zorro being shot off into Calo hitting him with the mirror. Stones have to get in more moves, finishing with an Alan springboard splash for the win. The mirror shot was to protect Zorro, for sure, but couldn't Elegido or someone not about to be in a tournament for a title take a pin instead?

Backstage: Cibernetico rants about Mesias. Chessman and Charly stand nearby and pose somewhat.

Interview: Hey, did you want another Mesias promo? TOO BAD.

Match 5: Kenzo Suzuki, Mesias, Ozz vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico in a cage match
Centro de Convenciones de Ciudad Madero, 07/27/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 12:34
Other Match Notes: Ozz has his Atomicos title. I guess Kenzo is doing the bird motions to be like Corleone? He's been doing this for weeks and I'm just now puzzling this out. SO SLOW. Mesias has no backup, I guess no one could talk Scoria into working three matches. The rudo fans have a Puerto Rico flag. They know how to get on TV!

Charly's entrance gets cut out. HMMM. Chessman may have new music. Looks like they've got chairs and ladders in the ring. Cibernetico has a valet we never see again, I think. Wow, we came break from break just for these entrances, and then another break.

No fight till introductions are over, how about that. There's a table set up there too, so I can safely ignore this till Chessman gets thrown thru it. Hell Brothers attack first! Both Tirantes are the outside refs. Hell Brothers dominate early, which I guess is revenge for last week. Lots of spears - Chessman is far better than Charly. Mesias tries to escape at one point, so I guess you can leave at any time. HBs just doesn't seem interested in it. Rudos are completely destroyed. Clary hits a tope of the cage splash on Kenzo to top it all off. He hurt his knees pretty well on that one, and is down for a while recovering. The ladder is set up for no reason, and Mesias makes his comeback with low blows shortly after. Mesias sets up the table right next to it, so here we go. Chair shot to Cibernetico, Mesias climbs the cage while Chessman recovers and climbs the ladder. Chessman gets to the top of the ladder, who knows what he's thinking. Mesias has this perfectly lined up - Flying shoulderblock into Chessman, taking them both thru the table. Chessman takes the worse of it, and it looks less serious on the first watch, but replays show Chessman hitting the table with his upper back, maybe his head.

Ozz escapes soon after. Everyone else is laid out in the cage. Kenzo beats Cibernetico and starts climbing, but Cibernetico pulls him back. Cibernetico starts climbing, but is slow and gets cut off by Kenzo. Here comes X-Pac, climbing in the cage. Alicia trails behind, smart enough not to go in. Why doesn't Ozz just come back? Scoria DOES work three matches! As he hurriedly climbs in (running late?), X-Pac and Kenzo climb up the cage, with Cibernetico right behind them. Scoria pulls Cibernetico back, so Kenzo's able to escape. X-Pac leaves gets knocked down from the outside of the top of the cage, taking a big bump to the floor. I don't think the rudos thought this out to well - this leaves Escoria and Mesias with all the tecnicos. Scoria's the fresh man, so he does clear the ring, and tires to help Mesais up. Mesias is dead weight, so I don't know how he's getting up the cage. Kenzo climbs back up the cage - he's back in to help the numbers. X-Pac is recovered enough to climb back in too - why did they leave if they were coming back. Tirantes argue about that too. Rudos beat up the Hell Brothers, who are pretty much out, and shove Mesias up the side of the cage. Kenzo is going carry Mesias off on his shoulders if he can force it. Mesias finally gets over the cage - though Hijo de Tirantes tries to stop him - and Kenzo's the last man out of the original team. Complete victory for the rudos.

Now that the match is over, Charly is all fine - oh, because he's trying to get someone to come down to take a look at Chessman, who hasn't moved much in minutes. Cibernetico cuts a promo. Chessman is now convulsing, not that it bugs Cibernetico much while cutting his promo. Charly is freaking out for both of them. Hey, medical people! Chessman is carried out of the cage. One more replay of the table spot - I think Chessman turned before hit impact, so he landed on his right shoulder. Better than his head. Cibernetico poses on the stage and we're done.

That's it.
